Abstract

Procedure for obtaining ceramic mosaics with composed designs in which a mosaic is obtained for decoration, composed by a plurality of individual small mini-tiles so that, when placed in the correct order, show a continuous design or decorative object without intersecting sections corresponding to the joints of said individual mini-tiles and whose sections match perfectly between contiguous tiles. The procedure is characterised in that, starting from an initial tile, subjected to an initial cooking and of a larger size than the final set, the design is printed using a standard method, such as hand painting, silk screening, transfer or other processes. The design is divided into squares corresponding to each of the pieces that constitute the set of the mosaic. Said squares are separated from each other by strips. Once the design is printed, the initial ceramic piece is cut into the corresponding individual mini-tiles along the strips separating the squares, these strips having the same width as the material eliminated by the cutting disc. Each individual mini-tile is washed, dried, and subjected to a second final finishing cooking process.
