Abstract

Procedure for obtaining ceramic mosaic with composite figures, in which a mosaic for decoration is obtained, consisting of a plurality of individual tiles of small dimensions, so that placed in the correct order they show a continuous decorative figure or motif without interstitial stripes corresponding to the joints of said individual tiles and whose lines coincide perfectly between adjacent tiles. The procedure is characterized in that, starting from a piece of initial tile, subjected to a first firing and larger in size than the final set, the figure is printed by a usual method, such as hand painting, screen printing, decal or other . The design is divided into tables corresponding to each of the pieces that make up the mosaic set. These pictures are separated from each other by stripes. Once the figure is printed, the initial tile piece is cut into the corresponding individual tiles by the strips separating the frames, these strips being the same width as the material removed by the cutting erosion disk. Each individual tile is washed and dried, and subjected to a second final finishing firing.
