Abstract
Procedimiento para la producción de poliestireno en espuma, en cuya etapa inicial se plastifica una mezcla de poliestireno con agentes nucleantes, plastificantes y aditivos convencionales, a una presión y a una temperatura respectivamente superiores a la presión atmosférica y a la temperatura ambiente para formar una mezcla plastificada ("melt"), la cual mezcla plastificada se descomprime y enfría bruscamente a presión atmosférica y a temperatura ambiente, al ser extruida a través de una matriz de extrusión final, en el cual procedimiento un agente espumante destinado a producir la deseada espumación y constituido íntegramente por CO2, se inyecta en la mezcla plastificada de modo que dicho agente espumante se disuelva en la mezcla plastificada, caracterizado porque se inyectan también en la mezcla plastificada un primero y un segundo agentes de control, estando destinado el primer agente de control a disolver y refrigerar la mezcla plastificada y estando constituido por etanol, mientras queel segundo agente de control está destinado solamente a refrigerar la mezcla plastificada y está constituido por H2O2, siendo la cantidad inyectada de etanol justamente la suficiente para alcanzar la máxima disolución posible de CO2 en la mezcla plastificada y siendo la cantidad inyectada de H2O2 tal que la espumación provocada por el etanol se mantenga mínima.
