Abstract

Retractable endomedullary fitting for bone implants and prostheses.Consists of a housing (1) of suitable size and shape for implantation in medullary bone cavities with lateral apertures (2) near one end through which the respective fastening parts (3) protrude radially by means of a conical nut (8) which is turned by a screw (6) that is mounted axially in an adjustable support (5) to which are connected the abovementioned fastening parts (3), so that turning the head (7) of the screw in one direction causes the wedge (8) to retract resulting in a radial movement of the fastening parts (3), whereas a turn in the opposite direction causes retraction of these fastening parts (3). The head (7) of the screw is accessible from the outside through a conical compartment (10) in the housing, to which another cone can be attached for the prosthesis or implant in question. The fitting is retractable and, consequently, easy to disassemble.
