Abstract

Utilización de aerogeles como materiales de relleno. Utilización de aerogeles de sílice que presentan estructura amorfa, densidad comprendida entre 0,6 g/cm{sup,3 y 0,003 g/cm{sup,3 como materiales de relleno para el transporte y/o almacenamiento de fluidos, especialmente acetileno. Los aerogeles presentan la propiedad de transformar un fluido en un sólido que lo incluye y que lo subdivide en pequeñas porciones. Esta propiedad es una característica muy importante cuando se trata de fluidos de elevada peligrosidad. Las severas condiciones requeridas para el transporte o almacenamiento de fluidos se reducen cuando el transporte o almacenamiento de dichos fluidos se realiza en un aerogel de sílice.
