Abstract

Beginning with a continuous web 16 of plastic mesh, of a width which coincides with that required by the covers, and with a device 9 for supplying strips 4 of cardboard, it consists in forming two parallel lines of cardboard strips 4 on a suitable conveyor element 8, said strips being in contact with one another via their ends but without being mounted, and the inner marginal zone of said strips being impregnated with an adhesive with the aid of an adhesive-application mechanism 10 located next to the supply device 9, whilst, in parallel, the continuous web 16 receives the actuation of a cutting mechanism 14, in order to meet up on the conveyor element 8, already in fragments, in such a manner that each piece of mesh 2 is suitably located on each pair of corresponding cardboard strips 4 and is definitively fixed thereto with the aid of a pressure element 17 which activates the adhesive.
