Abstract

Electrical control and load modules 25, 25A are linked optically via a further module 30 having optical fibres 22B, 22B'. All the modules have clips 24A, 24B, 24C, 24A', 24B', 24C' to flush-mount them on a rack 20. Infrared light is transmitted digitally from LEDs 21 etc via optical fibres 22 etc in the various modules to transistors 23 etc. This ensures electrical isolation. Alternatively (Fig 1) transmission may be directly between the first two modules.
