CUANDO EL RAYO DE LUZ PROYECTADO POR EL EMISOR (1) INCIDE SOBRE EL ASFALTO NORMAL (3) LA INTENSIDAD DE LUZ ES INSUFICIENTE PARA QUE SEA CAPTADA POR EL FOTOMETRO (2), MIENTRAS QUE SI ESE RAYO DE LUZ INCIDE SOBRE LAS CLASICAS BANDAS DE PINTURA REFLECTANTES DE SEÑALIZACION DISPUESTAS EN LAS CALZADAS, AUMENTA LA INTENSIDAD DE LUZ Y ES CAPTADA POR EL FOTOMETRO (2), EL CUAL ACTIVA UN SISTEMA DE ALARMAS, BIEN PONIENDO EN FUNCIONAMIENTO UNA SEÑAL LUMINOSA (5), BIEN PONIENDO EN FUNCIONAMIENTO UNA SEÑAL ACUSTICA (6), APERCIBIENDO AL CONDUCTOR DE QUE EL VEHICULO SE HA DESVIADO DE LA TRAYECTORIA CORRECTA.
