LA SEPARACION DE SO2 Y DE NOX DE LOS GASES DE LA COMBUSTION SE LLEVA A CABO MEDIANTE UNA IRRADIACION DE UN HAZ DE ELECTRONES Y LA ACCION DE MICROONDAS APLICADAS A MODO FLUJO CONTINUO Y/O POR IMPULSOS. EL FLUJO DE GASES DE LA COMBUSTION IRRADIADOS POR EL HAZ DE ELECTRONES QUE SE ENCUENTRAN EN LA ZONA DE RADIACION ES SOMETIDO A LA ACCION DE UNA ENERGIA DE MICROONDAS EN TODA LA SECCION TRANSVERSAL DEL FLUJO DE LOS GASES DE LA COMBUSTION. ESTO DA COMO RESULTADO UNA DISMINUCION DE LA INTENSIDAD DE IRRADIACION "POTENCIA MEDIA DEL HAZ DE ELECTRONES" Y UNA REDUCCION DEL COSTE DE LOS ACELERADORES AL TIEMPO QUE SE MANTIENE LA MISMA EFICIENCIA DE SEPARACION.
