SE DESCRIBE UN OXIMETRO Y UN METODO PARA MEDIDA NO INVASIVA DE SANGRE, QUE ES CAPAZ DEDETERMINAR LA SATURACION DE OXIGENO DE LA SANGRE ARTERIAL. EL OXIMETRO TIENE POR LO MENOS UNA FUENTE DE LUZ DIRIGIDA A UN AREA DE TEJIDO DE UN PACIENTE, TAL COMO UN DEDO O UN LOBULO DE LA OREJA. EL FOTODETECTOR RECIBE LA LUZ EMITIDA, QUE PASA A TRAVES DE LA MUESTRA Y UN CIRCUITO RECEPTOR ANALIZA LOS DATOS Y PRODUCE UNA SALIDA, QUE ES PROPORCIONAL AL CONTENIDO EN OXIGENO DE LA SANGRE. LA FUENTE DE LUZ SE LLEVA A UNA FRECUENCIA DE MODO QUE LAS SEÑALES NO DESEADAS SE PUEDEN FILTRAR DEJANDO SOLO LAS SEÑALES CREADAS POR LA LUZ EMITIDA QUE PASA A TRAVES DE DICHO TEJIDO. EL CONTENIDO EN OXIGENO SE CALCULA UTILIZANDO EL RECUENTO DE CELULAS ROJAS CONOCIDO DEL PACIENTE, CORRIGIENDO DE ESTE MODO EL VALOR DE SATURACION FINAL PARA LA ANEMIA DEL PACIENTE. ADEMAS, EL CALCULO DE SATURACION DEL OXIGENO INCORPORA PARAMETROS DE DISPERSION DE CELULAS ROJAS PARA AUMENTAR LA EXACTITUD EN AMBIENTES CLINICOS.
