EL OBJETIVO ES ELIMINAR LA INFLUENCIA DE CUALQUIER LUZ EXTRAÑA QUE CAIGA SOBRE EL SENSOR DE LUZ Y DE CUALQUIERA DE LAS FLUCTUACIONES QUE SE PUEDAN PRODUCIR EN LA INTENSIDAD DEL HAZ LUMINOSO. EL HAZ ES CONTROLADO POR UNA SEÑAL DE SALIDA (U3) DEL SENSOR (2) QUE CORRESPONDE A LA MEDIA DE DOS SEÑALES DE SALIDA (U1, U2) DEL SENSOR TOTALMENTE ILUMINADO O NO ILUMINADO (2). EN PARTICULAR SE PUEDE APLICAR EN LA EVALUCACION Y AJUSTE DE LA CONVERGENCIA EN UN PROYECTOR DE TELEVISION.
