Abstract

Centrifugal pump, especially for pumping hot media. In order to cool the sealing casing (11) and a cooling casing section (10) disposed between the sealing casing (11) and the pump casing, there is disposed on the shaft (9) a fan impeller (20) which is surrounded by a perforated guard plate (24). It is provided, according to the invention, that the guard plate (24), in the region (23) of the axial extent of the fan impeller (20), is continuous and that it is perforated only in the regions axially in front of and behind the fan impeller (20). The external diameter of the fan impeller (20) is considerably smaller than that of the guard plate (24). Between the interior of the sealing casing (11) and the adjoining interior of the cooling casing or the pump casing (1), a restrictor (13) is provided.
