Abstract

Internal-combustion engine with tangential pistons. Mechanism for utilizing the energy released by the explosion of an air/fuel mixture, characterized in that one or more pistons are arranged and moved tangentially to the shaft and in that they do not act directly thereon. The piston 1 acts on an articulated lever 2 which pivots on its shaft 3, by means of the connecting rod 4, transmitting the movement to the crank 5 of the drag axle (entrainment shaft) 6 which slides via the groove 7, converting said shaft into a rotary shaft. Contained in two circular pieces 8 which are mechanically joined, the outer path of the piston is closed by a cylinder head 9 with the necessary devices to regulate combustion of the mixture. The device allows the coupling of a number of pistons to a crank and of a number of mechanisms to the same shaft. It applies to transportation and industry in general.
