UNA FORMA DE ONDA CON MODULACION DE FRECUENCIA, NOMINALMENTE UNA ONDA CUADRADA DIGITAL O SINUSOIDAL ANALOGICA A FRECUENCIA DE BARRIDO, DE 1 A 10 MHZ, ES GENERADA POR SINTESIS DIGITAL DIRECTA. ESTA FORMA DE ONDA ES CONVERTIDA Y ELEVADA EN FRECUENCIA Y EXPANDIDA EN SU ANCHO DE BANDA, NOMINALMENTE A FRECUENCIA DE MICROONDAS, CON ANCHURAS DE BANDA NOMINALES DE 160 A 360 MHZ, EN UN CIRCUITO DE SINCRONIZACION DE FASE MULTIPLICADOR DE DESPLAZAMIENTO.
