Abstract

Ionospheric propagation simulator for baseband signals. This invention refers to a procedure to realise a competitive ionospheric propagation simulator (CCIR Report no. 549), for which same general-purpose technologies and minimum algorithmic complexity processing techniques are utilised. Its functional structure comprises three units, as follows: input/output unit, central unit and peripheral units. The input/output unit supports the interface between the digital environment in which the simulator operates and its analogue surroundings. The central unit synchronises the totality of the tasks which are executed, effects those which are not specific to each propagation path and supports the communication protocol between the simulator and a personal computer, by means of which all its working variables are programmed. Each peripheral unit effects the generation of the fading characteristic of each propagation path.
