Abstract
Omnidirectional loudspeaker arrangement which comprises a rotationally symmetric enclosure (1) provided with a loudspeaker (2) centred on the axis of symmetry (XX') and pointing axially towards the outside of the enclosure, and a distributor element or acoustic wave reflector (3) rotationally symmetric about the said axis of symmetry and arranged opposite the loudspeaker and connected mechanically to the enclosure. The distributor element delimits, with the enclosure, a rotationally symmetric space consisting on the one hand of a central volume (10) in front of the loudspeaker forming a compression chamber for acoustic waves from the audible spectrum which are produced by the loudspeaker, the cross-section (9) of the peripheral exit of the compression chamber being smaller than the surface area of the diaphragm (16) of the loudspeaker, and on the other hand of a horn of revolution (11) whose annular entrance (9) is constituted by the peripheral exit of the compression chamber and whose cross-section of revolution (14) increases from its annular entrance (9) up to its annular exit (12). <IMAGE>
