EL OBJETO DEL SISTEMA ES LA CONMUTACION RAPIDA DE PULSOS DE ALTO VOLTAJE Y CORTA DURACION SOBRE CARGAS QUE SOLICITEN ALTAS INTENSIDADES INSTANTANEAS, PERMITIENDO SU PASO EN AMBOS SENTIDOS; ASIMISMO ES CAPAZ DE CONMUTAR SEÑALES DE BANDA ESTRECHA, Y POR TANTO DE LARGA DURACION. SE BASA EN UN CANAL DE CONMUTACION DE MUY BAJA IMPEDANCIA SERIE, FORMADO POR DOS CONDENSADORES DE ALTO VOLTAJE (C1) EN SERIE CON DOS GRUPOS RECTIFICADORES (GR1 Y GR2) CONECTADOS EN OPOSICION Y CUYO ESTADO DE CONDUCCION SE ACTIVA MEDIANTE LA INYECCION FORZADA A TRAVES DE LOS MISMOS DE UNA CORRIENTE CONTINUA CONTROLADA POR UNA RED REACTIVA EN SERIE CON UN CONMUTADOR MONODIRECCIONAL DE BAJA TENSION (CBT) DE TIPO CONVENCIONAL, LO QUE PERMITE SU GOBIERNO LOGICO (SL) A PARTIR DE CIRCUITOS DIGITALES TTL O CMOS.
