EL SISTEMA SE CARACTERIZA POR UN DISPOSITIVO DE EXPLORACION DE PEQUEÑO HUELGO QUE ALIMENTA SIMULTANEAMENTE PERCEPTORES DE ENSAYOS ULTRASONICOS Y DE CORRIENTES PARASITAS PARA REALIZAR LA INSPECCION DEL ANILLO DE RETENCION. EL DISPOSITIVO DE EXPLORACION ES CONTROLADO POR UNA UNIDAD BASADA EN UNA COMPUTADORA Y TIENE CODIFICADORES DE POSICION PARA SITUAR DE MANERA PRECISA LOS PERCEPTORES EN EL ANILLO DE RETENCION. EL DISPOSITIVO DE EXPLORACION PUEDE SER HECHO GIRAR EN TORNO A TODA LA CIRCUNFERENCIA DEL ANILLO DE RETENCION, ASI COMO PUEDE SER DESPLAZADO LINEALMENTE A LO LARGO DE SU LONGITUD AXIAL PARA REALIZAR LA INSPECCION EN UNA PASADA.
