Abstract
The technical sector of the invention is devices utilising the pressure of the combustion gases of a propellant charge to bring about the translational movement of a control member of a safety and arming system of a projectile. The device according to the invention is characterised in that it comprises at least one receptacle (12) arranged in the rear part of the projectile and having its orifice oriented so as to be subjected to the pressure of the gases, the bottom of this receptacle consisting of a sealing partition (17) resistant to this pressure, the control member (10) being in the vicinity of the partition and isolated from the gases by the latter, and at least one piston (18) arranged in the receptacle and capable of translational movement in the latter under the action of the pressure of the gases and possessing a punch-forming part intended to pierce the partition (17) and then to bring about the translational movement of the control member. The invention is used in projectiles fired from smooth tubes. <IMAGE>
