EL DISPOSITIVO INCLUYE DOS CANALES (A,B) PARA DETECCION Y PROCESAMIENTO DE LA SEÑAL EMITIDA POR UN SENSOR DEL ACELEROMETRO (S) QUE FUNCIONA EN DOS BANDAS DE FRECUENCIA EN LAS QUE SE PUEDEN PRODUCIR LOS PICOS QUE INDICAN EL GOLPEO (RUIDO DE GOLPETEO). EN CADA FASE DE COMBUSTION, UN TERCER CANAL (C) CONECTADO TAMBIEN AL SENSOR (S) EMITE UNA SEÑAL REPRESENTATIVA DEL COMPONENTE DE RUIDO DE LA SEÑAL DEL SENSOR (S), EN UNA BANDA DE FRECUENCIA EN LA QUE NO SE PRODUCEN LOS PICOS. LAS SEÑALES EMITIDAS POR EL PRIMER Y SEGUNDO CANAL (A,B) SE INTEGRAN Y LUEGO SE COMPARAN CON UNA SEÑAL DE REFERENCIA GENERADA QUE DEPENDE DEL COMPONENTE DE RUIDO DETECTADO PARA CADA CILINDRO. DE ESTE MODO EL DISPOSITIVO PERMITE QUE EL GOLPEO SE DETECTE PARA CADA CILINDRO.
