Abstract
PURPOSE: To diagnose the performance of a valve component by including a means of comparing the position of a shaft with a prescribed position, comparing the angular position changing rate of a shaft for discriminating fluctuations according to the characteristics of a check valve, and providing a status report indicating the working condition of the check valve through a computer means. CONSTITUTION: A valve 10 is disposed between an isolation valve 94 and a feed water heater 96. The isolation valve 94 and a check valve 10 are placed at an extraction steam pipe 98 where a steam turbine 99 is connected to the feed water heater 96. During the ordinary operation of a turbine, the isolation valve 94 and the check valve 10 are in the full-open condition, thereby permitting extracted steam to flow into the feed water heater 96. The first sensor senses the rotational position of the shaft of the check valve 10 and the second sensor senses the prescribed condition of the isolation valve 94 for outputting signals. Computers 66/68 compares a shaft position with a prescribed one, discriminates fluctuations of the check valve 10 by comparing the changing rate, and indicates the status report of the check valve 10, thus it is possible to diagnose the performance of valve components.
