Abstract

The proposed device is a holder, particularly but not exclusively for flush-mounting instruments in motor vehicles, e.g. for reliably securing car radios, cassette players, C.D. players, boosters, equalizers or similar devices. A catch device (1) having at least one locking arm (9) associated with a longitudinal side and/or narrow side of the flush-mounting instrument, and a retaining device which cooperates with the locking arm (9) and pivots it into an engaged position wherein the instrument is retained in place in the vehicle. The retaining device can either comprise projections (22) on an inserted member as shown or a member pivoted with respect to the instrument which acts on the locking arm (figs 5, 6 not shown).
