Abstract

Improvements characterized in that the engagement and disengagement between toothed ring (gear) and inner concentric track integral with the traction shaft take place by means of a number of balls accommodated in inclined housings made in the toothed ring and pushed by springs in order to be held in contact with the edge of the track, provision being made in the opening of said housings for a notch of spherical surface, suitably oriented in order, when the drive power is applied to the toothed ring, for said balls to be accommodated in the notches, providing the engagement between ring and track, transmitting the power to the traction shaft. On the other hand, when the latter rotates through inertia or the effect of gravity, the balls slide silently and smoothly over the edge of the track, keeping the ring disengaged.
