SE DESCRIBE UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA PREPARACION DE ACIDO 1-ETIL-6-FLUORO-1,4-DIHIDRO-4-CETO-7-(TRIMETILOLMETILAMINO)-QUINOLIN-3-CARBOXILICO, DE LA FORMULA I CARACTERIZADO PORQUE SE HACE REACCIONAR ACIDO 1-ETIL-6-FLUORO-1,4-DIHIDRO-4-OXO-7-CLOROQUINOLIN-3-CARBOXILICO, CON UN EXCESO DE TRIS-HIDROXIMETILAMINOMETANO, EN PRESENCIA DE UN DISOLVENTE APROTICO, COMO POR EJEMPLO DIMETILFORMAMIDA, CANLENTANDO LA MEZCLA DE REACCION A REFLUJO EN PRESENCIA DE CANTIDADES CATALITICAS DE NAI, DURANTE UN TIEMPO ENTRE 12-24 HORAS. EL COMPUESTO FORMADO, QUE SE AISLA POR METODOS CONOCIDOS, POSEE PROPIEDADES ANTIBACTERIANAS, ESPECIALMENTE PARA INFECCIONES URINARIAS.
