LA PREPARACION DE FLUOROTITANATOS DE METALES ALCALINOS FLUORANDO UN MINERAL DE TITANIO, POR EJEMPLO RUTILO O ILMENITA, POR MEZCLA DEL MISMO CON UNA SOLUCION DE HIDROFLUROSILICATO QUE TIENE PREFERIBLEMENTE UNA CONCENTRACION COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 5 Y 36% EN PESO, EVAPORANDO LA SUSPENSION RESULTANTE A UNA TEMPERATURA DE 90 A 110 C, RECOGIENDO SEGUIDAMENTE EL RESIDUO EN AGUA O EN UN ACIDO MINERAL Y NEUTRALIZANDO LA SOLUCION DEL RESIDUO, PREFERIBLEMENTE A UN VALOR DEL PH ENTRE 3 Y 5, CON UN COMPUESTO DE METAL ALCALINO, TAL COMO UN CARBONATO O HIDROXIDO DE METAL ALCALINO, PREFERIBLEMENTE UN COMPUESTO DE POTASIO O SODIO, TRAS LO CUAL SE SEPARAN LOS FLUOROTITANATOS DE METALES ALCALINOS PRECIPITADOS FORMADOS.
