Abstract
A hydraulic brake booster mechanism, including: a crankcase comprising an inlet orifice, an outlet orifice and a supply chamber in communication with said inlet orifice; a drive piston that can be displaced in a hole in the crankcase and that partially defines a drive chamber at one end of the plunger; and a control valve for introducing the fluid under pressure from the supply chamber in the actuating chamber in order to move the piston located in the hole; characterized by the provision of a demand valve that can be displaced in response to the pressure prevailing in the feed chamber and against the pressure of that part of the fluid included between the inlet orifice and the outlet orifice from a first position in which substantially all the fluid flowing in the inlet orifice is directed to the outlet orifice, and a second position in which the fluid flow between the inlet orifice and the outlet orifice is limited, and by an element of valve located in said demand valve and which is constructed with a growing section to limit the flow of fluid between the inlet orifice and the outlet orifice when the demand valve is moved from the first to the second position.
