Abstract
A phase strip is a phase strip with a triangular cross-section that can be folded from a strip of sheet material, which in the starting position is either a flat or a rolled-up strip with at least one point of folding that penetrates the strip, with which the strip can be formed into a phase strip with a triangular cross-section.
Description
- The invention belongs to the field of construction, more specifically, the invention involves the use of a phase strip in preparing chamfered casting edges for walls, ceilings, floors, posts and the like of monolithic concrete structures.
- A phase strip is designed to create a phase on concrete surfaces. The purpose of a phase strip is to control the weakening point of a reinforced concrete structure, so that any cracks created by the structure would be proper and straight as well as aesthetically pleasing on the concrete surface.
- Known is a WMP ABV-K phase strip (https://est.primostar.eu/shop/abv-k-20-wpm-abv-k-20-valuliist-m-6791?search=wpm&order=name+asc#attr=), which is a triangular strip made of plastic with a length of 2.5 meters (the length is determined by a need for more convenient transportation).
- Also known is a steel triangular fillet (https://www.granodirect.com.au/steel-triangular-fillet) which is made from hot-rolled steel and is a fixed-length fillet with a triangular cross-section that is straightened and cut and used to form chamfered edges in concrete structures.
- Known is a steel triangular building reinforcement bar with a hollow opening inside (
CN107035073, Huang Huaisha , published 11.08.2017). The purpose of this solution is to save steel in the production of reinforcing bars. - A common drawback of these solutions is that such bars need be cut to size or extended on the construction site if necessary because generally, for example, all structural walls are higher than three meters which results in excessive building rubble on the construction site. Moreover, cutting plastic generates dust, which is harmful to health, and not all plastics can be recycled. Similarly, the transportation of such ready-made phase strips requires large transport volumes.
- The phase strip according to the invention is a phase strip with a triangular cross-section that can be folded from a strip made of sheet material. In the starting position (e.g. in the transport position or in the storage position) it is a flat (preferably rolled up) sheet material (preferably sheet metal) strip with at least one point of folding (the groove of folding or the strip is penetrated by consecutive discontinuous openings, e.g. dotted line, perforation, elongated opening, incision) with which the strip can be used to create (fold) a phase strip with a triangular cross-section.

Figures 2A, 2B, 2C show phase strips with a triangular cross-section of different profile heights in the folded in-use position. - Disclosed solution presents a folded phase strip with a triangular cross-section made of sheet material.
- According to the preferred embodiment, in the starting position it is a (flat) sheet material strip 1 that can be rolled up for transport and storage purposes, which has at least one point of folding 2 (folding groove or strip is penetrated by consecutive discontinuous openings, e.g. dotted line, perforation, elongated opening, incision), by means of which it is possible (e.g. on a construction site) to create (fold up), in the starting position, from strip 1 in the required length a phase strip 3 with a triangular cross-section in the in-use position.
- In addition to the benefits in transport and storage, this solution also comes with considerable savings of material. It is not a phase strip with a predetermined length, but a strip than can be cut to the required length from the flat starting position (when unrolled from the roll) on the construction site, and when folded into the in-use position a phase strip with a triangular cross-section is formed (the phase strip can also be cut to the required length in the in-use position), and when re-rolling the rest of the material to its starting position (e.g. also when unfolding the phase strip from the in-use position to its starting position), store it in a space-saving manner or transport it to the next construction site or, in case of material residue, take it to a collection point (a scrap metal buying up point or waste treatment plant).
- In this way, it is possible to store and transport the phase strip rolled up in the starting position with little need for space, when unrolled into a flat strip on the construction site, a strip of the required length can be cut from it, which can be used to form a phase strip when folded into the in-use position. In this way, unnecessary loss of material (building rubble), overproduction of phase strips and a high level of stocks are all avoided, and it is also more convenient to transport and store such phase strips, as it takes up less space (especially lengthwise) than finished phase strips.
- The phase strip comprises a rectangular strip 1 of sheet material with at least one point of folding 2 (folding groove or strip penetrated by consecutive discontinuous openings, e.g. dotted line, perforation, elongated opening, incision) intended for folding strip 1 to achieve phase strip 3 with a triangular cross-section. Phase strip 3 can be folded differently, as a result of which phase strips with different profile heights are formed (
Figs. 2A, 2B, 2C ) which can be used in different concrete structural elements. In the solution ofFig. 2A , the edges of the lower strip are formed by fitting flanges and this phase strip is used in a floor; the solution ofFig. 2B is used in a gap ceiling; the solution ofFig. 2C is used in a wall. - According to a preferred embodiment, the sheet material is sheet metal.
- The phase strip according to the invention can be used to create a controlled weakening point in a reinforced concrete structure or as a phase strip of a reinforced concrete structure; the phase strip is multi-purpose for use in different locations (floors, gap ceilings, walls); the phase strip is available in different sizes and profiles; the remaining of the phase strip can be conveniently taken to a collection point, as a result of which the material will be recycled; the use of a phase strip does not create excess (building) waste; a constant need to cut the phase strip shorter on the construction site or to extend the ready-made size phase strip will disappear as the required size of the phase strip according to the invention can be measured in one piece and cut to the right length on the construction site; the material of the phase strip is easily folded and unfolded, which is why it saves space; the phase strip is reusable as when used in building structures, for example in a wall, it is possible to relatively easily remove the phase strip from the formwork so that the same phase strip can be reused when casting the next wall; moreover the phase strip can be reused on the site by straightening or twisting it according to the new structure. In this way, one and the same phase strip can be reused during the construction of the entire object. Moreover, if used in walls, it is estimated that twice as much phase stripe is used as, for example, in floors, which means that significant savings can be achieved in the use of material.
- By using a metal phase strip as a preferred embodiment, it is possible to avoid the dust generated by plastic suspensions when cutting plastic phase strips, which in great amounts will reach living organisms through circulation.
- Since more and more monolithic reinforced concrete structures are being built these days, it is important that construction too moves towards more and more sustainable solutions. In this way, the plastic phase strip can be replaced with a metal phase strip, which is 100% recyclable and easier to recycle in terms of the work process. In addition, it is very easy to find a use for metal in recycling, since the price of metal is high, it does not lose its value during recycling, rather it becomes more expensive. Recycling one metal helps to save nearly 60-95% of energy, and this applies to any metal - you can reduce the generation of solid waste, air emissions and water pollution, in the production of a new metal, the emitted CO2 emissions per product unit are 4-5 times higher than in recycling.
Claims (9)
- Phase strip with a triangular cross-section, characterised in that the phase strip is a rectangular flat strip made of sheet material (1) in the starting position, which comprises at least one point of folding (2) by means of which the strip (1) can be folded into an in-use position phase strip (3) with a triangular cross-section.
- Phase strip according to claim 1, characterised in that the strip (1) is rolled up in the starting position.
- Phase strip according to claim 1 and 2, characterised in that the sheet material is sheet metal.
- Phase strip according to claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the point of folding (2) is a folding groove.
- Phase strip according to claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the point of folding (2) is consecutive discontinuous openings penetrating the strip (1).
- Phase strip according to claim 5, characterised in that the point of folding (2) is a dotted line.
- Phase strip according to claim 5, characterised in that the point of folding (2) is a perforation.
- Phase strip according to claim 5, characterised in that the point of folding (2) is an elongated opening.
- Phase strip according to claim 5, characterised in that the point of folding (2) is an incision.
