Definitions
- the present invention relates to a flashlight with a flashlight head which has a lighting unit, a housing which is designed as a handle, extends along a longitudinal axis and has a closed end section at the rear, and a push switch which has a slide for actuating the flashlight, wherein the slide is mounted on the housing so that it can be moved and secured against loss.
- cylindrical flashlights which can be operated in different ways, the actuation being adapted to the preferred grip position or posture when the flashlight is used as intended.
- the flashlight In the classic grip position, the flashlight lies in the hand in such a way that the front section of the flashlight with the flashlight head essentially rests between the thumb and index finger.
- Such flashlights have a switch that is located in the front area of the flashlight and is operated with the thumb.
- the switch can be designed as a push switch or pressure switch.
- Such a flashlight is used, for example, in DE 20 2010 009 881 U1 disclosed.
- US 4,152,755 A also discloses a flashlight with a push switch which is arranged in the front area of the flashlight and is operated with the thumb.
- the flashlight In the tactical grip position, which is particularly preferred by emergency services, the flashlight is held rotated through 180° so that the section of the flashlight with the flashlight head leaves the closed hand in the area of the edge of the hand, i.e. essentially between the little finger and the heel of the hand.
- Such flashlights usually have a pressure switch, which is mounted in the end section of the housing, preferably within an end cap and is also operated with the thumb.
- a flashlight with such an end cap switch in WO 2012/010126 A2 described.
- the flashlights known from the prior art have disadvantages because they can only be operated with one hand and comfortably in a certain grip position. If the flashlight is held in the non-intended handle position, it must be rotated 180° to operate it or the other hand must be used to operate the switch. Although flashlights with two separate and functionally identical switches are also known, such flashlights are complex to produce and therefore expensive because two separate switching mechanisms with a corresponding cable connection must be provided and installed.
- the slide is L-shaped with a first section and a second section, the first section extending longitudinally axially along the housing and the second section engaging behind (or engaging behind) the closed end section of the housing, so that the push switch can be operated in different grip positions.
- the flashlight can be operated with one hand, comfortably and without the hassle of reaching around, both in the classic and tactical grip position.
- the thumb rests on the first section of the slide, so that the flashlight can be operated by moving the slide longitudinally.
- the thumb rests on the second section of the slide, which can thereby be operated like a push or button switch of an end cap switch.
- the slide for actuating the push switch can be moved against the force of a spring, the spring preferably being designed as a compression spring and being mounted between the end face of the end section of the housing and the second section of the slide.
- the spring-loaded bearing of the slide prevents the flashlight from being accidentally switched on or off.
- its first section engages on the front in a cylindrical receptacle of the flashlight head and/or its second section has guide elements with guide surfaces and locking hooks which engage in an undercut receptacle on the rear end section of the housing.
- the slide has a roughened contact surface in the front area, which is designed for operation with the thumb in the classic grip position, and in a section between the contact surface and the rear end section of the housing is partially covered and in this section runs within a guide channel of the housing. This means that the slide can be operated smoothly and without blocking, even when the flashlight is held very tightly.
- the flashlight has a magnetic switch, including a magnet-sensitive one Sensor is arranged in the flashlight head or the housing of the flashlight in such a way that it can be brought into operative connection by a sliding movement of the slide with a magnetic element which is connected to the slide. It is preferably provided that the magnetic element is arranged in a section of the slide that engages in the cylindrical receptacle of the flashlight head.
- the switch can also be designed as a mechanical pressure or push-button switch.
- a pushbutton or pressure switch can also be arranged in the cylindrical receptacle of the flashlight head, with a rubber membrane being arranged between the pushbutton switch and the slide, so that the interior of the housing is protected from dust, dirt and water.
- the slide has a ball spring and the ball runs down a ramp when the slide is actuated.
- the ball spring is preferably arranged in a ball spring receptacle of the slide.
- Such a flashlight can essentially be made of any materials such as plastic and/or aluminum, although the slide and flashlight housing can also be made of different materials depending on requirements.

- the flashlight 1 has a flashlight head 2 with a lighting unit 18 ( Fig. 1b ).
- the flashlight head 2 is connected to a housing 3, which is designed as a handle and extends along a longitudinal axis L.
- the housing 3 has a closed end section 4 at the rear.
- a push switch with a slide 5 is provided, which is mounted on the housing 3 in a sliding and captivity manner in the direction of arrow 24, the displaceability of the slide 5 being limited by a front and a rear stop.
- the slide 5 is L-shaped and initially has a first section 6 which extends longitudinally axially along the housing 3.
- This first section 6 of the slider 5 is shown in a top view, with the slider 5 having a roughened contact surface 7 in the front area for operation with the thumb in the classic grip position.
- Fig. 1b shows a cross-sectional view of the flashlight 1 along the cross-sectional plane AA, in which the L-shaped design of the slide 5 can be seen.
- the slide 5 first engages on the housing 3 with its first section 6, at least in some areas, in a cylindrical receptacle 8 of the flashlight head 2.
- the slide 5 has a second section 9, which is aligned essentially at right angles to the first section 6 and engages behind (or engages behind) the closed end section 4 of the housing 3. This second section 9 is used to operate the flashlight 1 in the tactical grip position and can be pressed using the thumb.
- the slide 5 is mounted so that it can slide against the force of a compression spring 13, the compression spring 13 being arranged between the rear end section 4 of the housing 3 and the second section 9 of the slide 5.
- the slide 5 has a magnetic element 14 as a signal generator, which can be brought into operative connection with a magnet-sensitive sensor 19 as a signal receiver for actuating the flashlight 1 by pushing the slide 5, which is arranged in the flashlight head 2 is.

Description
The present invention relates to a flashlight with a flashlight head which has a lighting unit, a housing which is designed as a handle, extends along a longitudinal axis and has a closed end section at the rear, and a push switch which has a slide for actuating the flashlight, wherein the slide is mounted on the housing so that it can be moved and secured against loss.
According to the prior art, cylindrical flashlights are known which can be operated in different ways, the actuation being adapted to the preferred grip position or posture when the flashlight is used as intended. A distinction can be made between the classic grip position and the so-called tactical grip position.
The flashlights known from the prior art have disadvantages because they can only be operated with one hand and comfortably in a certain grip position.
It is therefore the object of the present invention to create a flashlight that can be operated easily and with one hand, regardless of the handle position, and which can still be produced in a cost-effective manner.
This task is solved by the flashlight according to
Preferred embodiments of the present invention are described below and in the subclaims.
According to a first advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the slide for actuating the push switch can be moved against the force of a spring, the spring preferably being designed as a compression spring and being mounted between the end face of the end section of the housing and the second section of the slide. The spring-loaded bearing of the slide prevents the flashlight from being accidentally switched on or off.
For captive storage of the slide, it is preferably provided that its first section engages on the front in a cylindrical receptacle of the flashlight head and/or its second section has guide elements with guide surfaces and locking hooks which engage in an undercut receptacle on the rear end section of the housing.
As part of a further advantageous development of the invention, it is provided that the slide has a roughened contact surface in the front area, which is designed for operation with the thumb in the classic grip position, and in a section between the contact surface and the rear end section of the housing is partially covered and in this section runs within a guide channel of the housing. This means that the slide can be operated smoothly and without blocking, even when the flashlight is held very tightly.
According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the flashlight has a magnetic switch, including a magnet-sensitive one Sensor is arranged in the flashlight head or the housing of the flashlight in such a way that it can be brought into operative connection by a sliding movement of the slide with a magnetic element which is connected to the slide. It is preferably provided that the magnetic element is arranged in a section of the slide that engages in the cylindrical receptacle of the flashlight head. As an alternative to such a magnetic switch, the switch can also be designed as a mechanical pressure or push-button switch. For this purpose, a pushbutton or pressure switch can also be arranged in the cylindrical receptacle of the flashlight head, with a rubber membrane being arranged between the pushbutton switch and the slide, so that the interior of the housing is protected from dust, dirt and water.
Finally, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the slide has a ball spring and the ball runs down a ramp when the slide is actuated. The ball spring is preferably arranged in a ball spring receptacle of the slide. By choosing the shape of the ramp and the spring force of the ball spring, the haptic feeling when operating the push switch can be adjusted so that the operator can feel at any time at which position the slide is viewed relative to the housing of the flashlight and how far the slider still needs to be pushed in order for the flashlight to be activated.
Such a flashlight can essentially be made of any materials such as plastic and/or aluminum, although the slide and flashlight housing can also be made of different materials depending on requirements.
