Definitions

  • Monitoring device monitoring arrangement, procedure,
  • the invention relates to a monitoring device for monitoring and / or evaluating a monitoring area.
  • the surveillance area is monitored by means of a camera arrangement, the camera arrangement being designed to provide surveillance images.
  • the monitoring device has an evaluation device, the evaluation device being designed to accept the monitoring images and being able to detect a person in the monitoring area based on the monitoring images and generating at least one evaluation data record for the person detected.
  • Public areas or business areas are often video-monitored. This monitoring can be used to detect people. In the case of image-based person recognition, it is often not possible to clearly recognize the person. Particularly when using evaluation tasks, such as in retail analytics, however, clear personal information is necessary in order to be able to carry out meaningful analytics.
  • Camera-based systems that allow unambiguous face recognition are often very expensive and difficult to operate. In particular, this requires a large number of cameras in order to detect people from as many perspectives as possible and with a sufficiently good resolution.
  • Usual camera-based Monitoring systems do not meet these requirements.
  • Such camera systems without face recognition have the disadvantage that after a change of clothing the person cannot be recognized as an individual, that is to say that persons can only be recognized within the surveillance area and in a limited period of time.
  • the document DE 102008041 933 A1 which probably represents the closest prior art, describes a monitoring system for the detection and / or tracking of at least one moving monitored object in a monitored area.
  • the surveillance area is accessible via signature locks that a person must pass through.
  • the signature locks have signature sensors that allow the detection of personal features.
  • a person detected in the signature lock is then monitored and / or tracked in the surveillance area on the basis of cameras.
