  • the present invention relates to a system for gripping a key.
  • a door may include a lock operating with a key.
  • a lock operating with a key For example, an aircraft and in particular a helicopter can comprise a door provided with a key lock. Keys used on aircraft are sometimes small in size.
  • an aircraft can evolve in various environments and can be subjected to high thermal amplitudes.
  • the same helicopter can evolve in an area undergoing temperatures comprised for example between -40 degrees Celsius and +50 degrees Celsius.

  • the document DE 199 64 314 A1 describes a system provided with a box housing a key that can move longitudinally in translation.
  • a two-lever release system and an automatic deployment system are arranged laterally on either side of the key.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to propose a gripping system facilitating the detection or even the maneuvering of a key of small dimensions, especially in cold weather and with mittens or the like.
  • the invention thus relates to a gripping system for a key.
  • This gripping system comprises a hollow shell which extends in a transverse direction between two lateral sides open to an external environment, said shell extending longitudinally in a longitudinal direction from a rear side to a front side, the side front being open to the outside environment, the gripping system comprising two supports partially disposed in said shell, said two supports respectively comprising two recesses forming a variable-geometry reception space configured to contain said key at least partially, said two supports being each movable in rotation relative to said shell to move closer to each other until reaching a blocking position in which said key is blocked, at least in translation in the longitudinal direction, and to move apart one from the other until reaching a displacement position in which said key is movable in translation in said direction longitudinally in said reception space, each support emerging laterally from the shell via a said lateral side and having a support portion arranged outside of said shell.
  • a key can be inserted into the gripping system.
  • the two supports are movable in order to block the key at least in translation relative to the shell or to allow the key to be moved relative to the shell on request.
  • the two supports can jointly form a clamp gripping the key in the locking position.
  • An operator can grasp the shell and can exert a force on the two support portions with mittens or the like.
  • the two supports move apart at the front side of the hull by means of two rotary movements according to opposite directions.
  • the supports loosen the key which allows the key to partially come out of the gripping system. However, the key remains partially retained in the hull without human intervention.
  • the operator can then relax his effort to immobilize the key with respect to the shell using the supports in order to introduce it into a lock. This process is reversible.
  • the gripping system proves to be relatively simple and can be used in various climatic conditions, and in particular in the presence of temperatures comprised for example between -40 degrees Celsius and +50 degrees Celsius.
  • the gripping system actually has larger dimensions than the key. An operator can therefore more easily detect a key, and in particular a key inserted in a lock.

  • the gripping system can comprise a lamp.
  • the gripping system can comprise a radio-identification system, usually known by the acronym “RFID” and the English expression “radio frequency identification”.
  • the gripping system can be produced with qualified aeronautical materials, in particular within the framework of an aeronautical application.

  • Each rear notch keeps the key retracted in the shell.
  • said front notch and said rear notch of the same recess can be delimited, in a single direction of the transverse direction, respectively by two arcuate edges.
  • the recesses can thus cooperate by shape interference with a key having a gripping head in the form of a ring extended by an actuating portion. Only the actuating portion is configured to be engaged in a lock.
  • each support may comprise a partition and a lateral flank delimiting the recess of this support respectively only in one direction of an elevation direction and in one direction of said transverse direction, said reception space s extending along said direction in elevation of the partition of one support as far as the partition of the other support, said reception space extending along said transverse direction between the lateral flank of a support and the lateral flank of the other support, said reception space emerging in the longitudinal direction on the open front side of the shell.
  • delimiting the recess means that the two supports participate jointly in the delimitation of the reception space. Description

The present invention relates to a system for gripping a key.

A door may include a lock operating with a key. For example, an aircraft and in particular a helicopter can comprise a door provided with a key lock. Keys used on aircraft are sometimes small in size.

However, an aircraft can evolve in various environments and can be subjected to high thermal amplitudes. In particular, the same helicopter can evolve in an area undergoing temperatures comprised for example between -40 degrees Celsius and +50 degrees Celsius. In cold weather, it may then be difficult to grasp a key of small dimensions, for example with mittens adapted to very low temperatures, to introduce it into a lock or to remove it from a lock.

Also, it can be difficult to spot a key of small sizes. For example, in extreme climatic conditions it may be difficult to detect that a key of small dimensions is always inserted into a lock before takeoff.

The document DE 199 64 314 A1 describes a system provided with a box housing a key that can move longitudinally in translation. A two-lever release system and an automatic deployment system are arranged laterally on either side of the key.

Les documents US 6 314 775 B2 , US 2 500 198 A , et AU 16908 83 A sont aussi connus.The documents US 6,314,775 B2 , US 2,500,198A , and AU 16908 83 A are also known.

The object of the present invention is therefore to propose a gripping system facilitating the detection or even the maneuvering of a key of small dimensions, especially in cold weather and with mittens or the like.

The invention thus relates to a gripping system for a key. This gripping system comprises a hollow shell which extends in a transverse direction between two lateral sides open to an external environment, said shell extending longitudinally in a longitudinal direction from a rear side to a front side, the side front being open to the outside environment, the gripping system comprising two supports partially disposed in said shell, said two supports respectively comprising two recesses forming a variable-geometry reception space configured to contain said key at least partially, said two supports being each movable in rotation relative to said shell to move closer to each other until reaching a blocking position in which said key is blocked, at least in translation in the longitudinal direction, and to move apart one from the other until reaching a displacement position in which said key is movable in translation in said direction longitudinally in said reception space, each support emerging laterally from the shell via a said lateral side and having a support portion arranged outside of said shell.

From then on, a key can be inserted into the gripping system. The two supports are movable in order to block the key at least in translation relative to the shell or to allow the key to be moved relative to the shell on request. The two supports can jointly form a clamp gripping the key in the locking position. An operator can grasp the shell and can exert a force on the two support portions with mittens or the like. The two supports move apart at the front side of the hull by means of two rotary movements according to opposite directions. The supports loosen the key which allows the key to partially come out of the gripping system. However, the key remains partially retained in the hull without human intervention. The operator can then relax his effort to immobilize the key with respect to the shell using the supports in order to introduce it into a lock. This process is reversible.

According to another aspect, the gripping system proves to be relatively simple and can be used in various climatic conditions, and in particular in the presence of temperatures comprised for example between -40 degrees Celsius and +50 degrees Celsius.

In addition, the gripping system actually has larger dimensions than the key. An operator can therefore more easily detect a key, and in particular a key inserted in a lock. The gripping system can moreover have colors facilitating its visual detection. For example, the shell may be red in color.

According to another aspect, the gripping system can be easily personalized. For example, the shell can be customizable.

The gripping system may include one or more of the following features.

Thus, the gripping system can perform other functions. The gripping system can in fact comprise at least one interface arranged on the shell and which can be requested by an individual to activate various functions. For example, an interface can be in communication by usual means with other components of the aircraft, and for example with an engine preheating system.

According to one possibility, the gripping system can comprise a lamp.

According to another possibility compatible with the previous ones, the gripping system can comprise a radio-identification system, usually known by the acronym “RFID” and the English expression “radio frequency identification”.

According to another possibility compatible with the previous ones, the gripping system can be produced with qualified aeronautical materials, in particular within the framework of an aeronautical application.

The hull and the supports can in particular be obtained with a material that can withstand the environmental conditions experienced by an aircraft, in particular conditions of resistance to fuel, ozone, ultraviolet rays, de-icing fluids, etc.

According to another possibility compatible with the previous ones, each recess may comprise a front notch receiving a head of said key in said locking position when said key crosses said front side in a deployed position, each recess comprising a rear notch receiving said head of said key in said locking position when said key is in a retracted position.

The recesses thus make it possible to immobilize the key with respect to the shell when the key is in a retracted position or in an extended position. In the deployed position, the key can be inserted into a lock.

According to a possibility compatible with the previous ones, said rear notch can be arranged between the rear side of the hull and said front notch.

Each rear notch keeps the key retracted in the shell.

According to a possibility compatible with the previous ones, said front notch and said rear notch of the same recess can be delimited, in a single direction of the transverse direction, respectively by two arcuate edges.

The recesses can thus cooperate by shape interference with a key having a gripping head in the form of a ring extended by an actuating portion. Only the actuating portion is configured to be engaged in a lock.

According to a possibility compatible with the previous ones, each support may comprise a partition and a lateral flank delimiting the recess of this support respectively only in one direction of an elevation direction and in one direction of said transverse direction, said reception space s extending along said direction in elevation of the partition of one support as far as the partition of the other support, said reception space extending along said transverse direction between the lateral flank of a support and the lateral flank of the other support, said reception space emerging in the longitudinal direction on the open front side of the shell.

The expression "delimiting the recess" means that the two supports participate jointly in the delimitation of the reception space. By moving away from or approaching each other, the two supports thus modify the geometry of the reception space to either confer freedom of movement in translation restricted to the key with respect to the shell, or block the key relative to the shell at least in translation.

According to a possibility compatible with the previous ones, the shell may comprise a first wall and a second wall arranged one above the other in an elevation direction, said shell comprising an elevation wall connecting, in the elevation direction, the first wall to the second wall, said supports being arranged partially between the first wall and the second wall.

For example, the shell has a U-shape in section in a plane orthogonal to the transverse direction. This U-shape allows the key to partially come out of the shell from the front side and allows the brackets to come out of the shell from the side sides.

According to a possibility compatible with the previous ones, the gripping system can comprise an elastic pusher configured to grip said key and to exert on said key a force tending to cause an actuation portion of the key to come out of the shell via said front side.

The expression "elastic pusher" means that at least one member of the pusher is elastically deformable, for example to be able to be compressed, or even stretched, with respect to a position at rest. For example, the pusher is in its rest position when the key is in its deployed position.

The pusher thus has two functions. It allows the key to be pushed into its deployed position, while retaining it so that this key does not completely come out of the shell. The key is partially retained in the reception area by the pusher. This pusher also has the function of authorizing the movement of the key to its retracted position. For example, a member of the pusher is compressed when the key is in its retracted position, then stretches to return to its rest position by pushing the key into its deployed position.

For example, said pusher may comprise a hook configured to penetrate a head of said key, said pusher having a spring which extends in said longitudinal direction between a seat of the shell and said hook.

Such a seat can be formed by the raised wall described above.

According to an example compatible with the previous one, the pusher can thus tend to immobilize the key in rotation by shape interference with the head of the key. The pusher and the notches can thus jointly immobilize the key with respect to the shell.

For example, said hook may comprise a finger configured to penetrate into said head and a retaining face, said retaining face describing an arc of a circle centered on a first axis, the first axis being configured to be offset with respect to a second axis on which is centered an arc of a circle followed by an edge of said head.

The edge of the key is then attached to the retaining face.

According to an example compatible with the previous ones, said hook may include a guide channel, said spring extending in said guide channel.

According to a possibility compatible with the previous ones, said two supports can be rotatable relative to the shell around the same geometric axis of rotation.

According to a possibility compatible with the previous ones, at least one of said supports may comprise a pin which is arranged in a housing of said shell and is rotatable in said housing or at least one of said supports may comprise a housing mobile in rotation around a pawn of said hull.

Thus, each support is easily made mobile in rotation relative to the shell.

According to a possibility compatible with the previous ones, at least one of said supports can include a stop which is movable in a groove of said shell between two sides of the groove or at least one of said supports can include a groove in which a stop of said shell is mobile.

Thus, each support is rotatable relative to the shell within the limits imposed by a groove and an abutment.

According to a complementary or alternative possibility, each support can comprise a foot coming into abutment against a stop face of an elevated portion of the shell in the displacement position.

According to a possibility compatible with the previous ones, said support portion of a said support can be arranged in said longitudinal direction between said rear side and a geometric axis of rotation of this support.

To reach the displacement position, the ends of the supports located at the level of the front side move away in order to release the key while the ends of the supports located at the level of the rear side approach each other.

According to a possibility compatible with the previous ones, said gripping system may comprise a return system for placing said two supports in the locking position in the absence of a force exerted on the supports by an operator greater than a force threshold .

For example, such a return system is a magnetic system comprising one or more permanent magnets.

For example, the return system comprises a sub-assembly called for convenience “closing reminder” and/or a sub-assembly called for convenience “rest reminder” per support configured to maintain this support in the blocking position until a force threshold exerted on this support.

For example, the reminder system comprises two magnetic closure reminders respectively for the two supports, each closure reminder of a said support comprising a first closure member fixed to this support and a second closure member fixed to a wall of the shell attached to this support, at least one of the first closing member and second closing member comprising a permanent closing magnet.

For example, the return system comprises two magnetic rest reminders respectively for the two supports, each rest reminder of a support comprising a first return member fixed to this support and a second return member fixed to a wall of the shell separated in elevation from this support by the other support, at least one of the first return member and second return member comprising a permanent locking magnet.

Thus, one or more magnetic systems can tend to maintain the two supports in the locking position. An operator must then exert a force on the support portions to reach the displacement position.

The elements present in several separate figures are assigned a single reference.

Three directions X, Y and Z orthogonal to each other are shown in some figures.

La direction X est dite longitudinale. L'expression « direction longitudinale » désigne une direction parallèle à la direction X.The X direction is said to be longitudinal. The expression "longitudinal direction" designates a direction parallel to the X direction.

Une autre direction Y est dite transversale. L'expression « direction transversale » désigne une direction parallèle à la direction Y.Another direction Y is called transverse. The expression "transverse direction" designates a direction parallel to the Y direction.

L'expression « direction en élévation » désigne une direction parallèle à la direction Z.Finally, a third direction Z is said to be in elevation. The term "elevation direction" means a direction parallel to the Z direction.

The figure 1 illustrates a gripping system 1 for maneuvering a key, for example for carrying a key opening a door of a vehicle and possibly of an aircraft. The gripping system 1 comprises a hollow shell 5. In addition, the gripping system 1 comprises two supports 20, 50 arranged partially in the shell 5, these supports 20, 50 however projecting outside the shell 5 at least laterally or even forwards.

The two supports 20, 50 respectively comprise two recesses, illustrated below, which delimit within the shell 5 a reception space configured to contain a key. The two supports 20, 50 are both rotatable relative to the shell 5, for example around the same geometric axis of rotation AX, to modify the geometry of the reception space. In the blocking position POS1 illustrated in the figure 1 , the two supports 20, 50 jointly block the key in translation in the shell 5. In a displacement position illustrated below, the two supports 20, 50 grant freedom of movement in translation to the key relative to the shell 5 .

An operator can then press on the support portions 21, 51 to move the two supports 20, 50. According to a Another aspect, the support portions 21, 51 of the supports 20, 50 can be arranged in said longitudinal direction between a rear side CARR of the shell 5 and the geometric axis of rotation AX.

Par exemple, la paroi en élévation 8 peut obturer le côté arrière CARR, ce côté arrière CARR ne débouchant alors pas sur le milieu extérieur EXT.With reference to the figure 2 , the shell 5 extends in the transverse direction Y between two lateral sides CLAT1, CLAT2 which lead to an external environment EXT, namely a medium situated outside the gripping system 1. In addition, the shell 5 is extends in elevation between a first wall 6 and a second wall 7. The first wall 6 is located above the second wall 7 in an upward direction Z1 of the direction in elevation Z. Conversely, the second wall 7 is located below the first wall 6 in a downward direction Z2 of the elevation direction Z. In addition, the shell 5 extends longitudinally in a longitudinal direction X from the rear side CARR to a front side CAV. The front side CAV can lead to the external environment EXT. In addition, the shell 5 comprises an elevation wall 8 connecting the first wall 6 to the second wall 7. For example, the elevation wall 8 can block the rear side CARR, this rear side CARR then not leading to the external environment. EXT.

The first wall 6, the second wall 7, or even the wall in elevation 8, jointly delimit an internal space of the shell 5. This internal space is open laterally and at least via the front side to the external environment.

According to another aspect, the first wall 6, the second wall 7, or even the wall in elevation 8, form a monolithic shell, or may comprise several distinct parts fixed to each other in the usual way.

Ainsi la première paroi 6 peut comprendre un premier logement 17, un premier orifice circulaire 16 et une première gorge 18, et /ou la deuxième paroi 7 peut comprendre un deuxième logement 170, un deuxième orifice circulaire 160 et une deuxième gorge 180.Independently of these characteristics and with reference to the picture 3 , at least the first wall 6 or the second wall 7 may comprise a housing 17, 170 and a groove 18, 180, the groove 18, 180 extending along an arc of a circle between two sides 181-182, 1810-1820. For example, the first wall 6 and/or the second wall 7 comprise a circular orifice 16, 160 extended axially at its center by a cylindrical housing 17, 170 and radially by the groove 18, 180. Thus the first wall 6 can comprise a first housing 17, a first circular orifice 16 and a first groove 18, and/or the second wall 7 may comprise a second housing 170, a second circular orifice 160 and a second groove 180.

De bas en haut au regard du sens vers le haut Z1, le système de préhension comporte alors la deuxième paroi 7, le deuxième support 50, le premier support 20 et la première paroi 6.Independently of these characteristics and with reference to the figure 1 , the two supports 20, 50 comprise a first support 20 and a second support 50 which may be identical. Independently of this aspect, the supports 20, 50 are partially arranged between the first wall 6 and the second wall 7. For example, the first support 20 is partially arranged above the second support 50 with regard to the upward direction Z1. From bottom to top with regard to the upward direction Z1, the gripping system then comprises the second wall 7, the second support 50, the first support 20 and the first wall 6.

The figures 4 and 5 illustrate an example of a support 20, 50, this support being either the first support 20 or the second support 50. In addition, the first recess 22 can form a first rear notch 30 accommodating this head of the key in the locking position POS1 when the key is in a retracted position illustrated below.

For example, the first rear notch 30 is arranged between the rear side CARR of the hull 5 and the first front notch 29.

Eventuellement, le premier flanc 23 peut comporter deux bords en arc de cercle délimitant respectivement la première encoche avant 29 et la première encoche arrière 30.Optionally, the first flank 23 may comprise two arcuate edges respectively delimiting the first front notch 29 and the first rear notch 30.

In addition, the first support 20 may comprise a cutout 33 in the form of an arc capable of receiving part of the second support 50, and in particular of a bottom wall 56 described below.

The second recess 52 is delimited along the downward direction Z2 of the elevation direction by a second partition 54 and along a direction Y2 of the transverse direction Y by a second flank side 53. The Y2 direction is illustrated on the figure 7 .

Furthermore, the second recess 52 can form a second front notch 59 configured to accommodate the head of the key in the locking position POS1 when the key is in a deployed position illustrated below. In addition, the second recess 52 can form a second rear notch 60 accommodating this head of the key in the locking position POS1 when the key is in a retracted position illustrated below.

For example, the second rear notch 60 is arranged between the rear side CARR of the shell 5 and the second front notch 59.

With reference to the figure 5 , the bottom wall 56 may comprise a second pin 57, opposite the reception space, capable of being inserted into the second housing 170 of the second wall 7 and a second stop 58 capable of moving in the groove 180 of the second wall 7.

In addition, the second support 50 may comprise a cutout 63 in the form of an arc capable of receiving part of the first support 20, and in particular its bottom wall 26.

En outre, le premier pion 27 et le deuxième pion 57 peuvent s'étendre le long du même axe géométrique de rotation AX.The figure 7 is an exploded view showing the first support 20 and the second support 50. In the locking position POS1, the first front notch 29 can be located above the second front notch 59. Similarly, the first rear notch 30 can be located above the second rear notch 60. In addition, the first pin 27 and the second pin 57 can extend along the same geometric axis of rotation AX.

The reception space 85 can then extend along the downward direction Z2 of the elevation direction Z of the first partition 24 of the first support 20 as far as the second partition 54 of the second support 50. Usuellement, la clé 90 comporte par exemple une tête 91, par exemple en forme d'anneau, prolongée par une portion d'actionnement 93.Usually, the key 90 comprises for example a head 91, for example in the shape of a ring, extended by an actuating portion 93.

To grasp the key 90, the hook 76 may comprise a finger 77 which penetrates into an opening 92 of the head 91 of the key 90. The second wall 7 and part of the second support 50 are made transparent for convenience to allow the key 90 to be viewed.

With reference to the figure 10 , the key 90 is in its retracted position POS3. The two supports 20, 50 are in the locking position POS 1. The key 90 is locked in the rear notches 30, 60. The spring 79 of the pusher 75 is compressed.

According to figure 11 , an operator grasps the gripping system 1, if necessary with mittens. The operator then presses on the support portions 21, 51. This results in rotations ROT1, ROT2 around the geometric axis of rotation AX in opposite directions of the two supports 20, 50. The two supports 20, 50 reach travel position POS2. Optionally, a foot 200, 500 of each support 20, 50 comes into abutment against a stop member 800 of the elevated portion 8 of the shell 5. Optionally, the stops of the supports 20, 50 or of the walls 6.7 of the shell 5 bears against a side of a groove respectively walls 6.7 or supports 20, 50.

With reference to the figure 12 , the spring 79 of the pusher 75 can then extend along the arrow F1 and position the key 90 in its deployed position POS4.

With reference to the figure 13 , the operator then releases the support portions 21, 51. Any closing and locking reminders remind the supports 20, 50 in the locking position POS1, if necessary. The head of the key 90 is then arranged in the front notches 29, 59, the actuating portion 93 extending outside the shell 5.
