Definitions
- the invention ultimately relates to a method of operating a handgun using a cartridge magazine.
- Cartridge magazines for handguns have been known for a long time and are manufactured in different designs according to the state of the art, see for example US3226869 A
- the expert first differentiates between cartridge magazines that are permanently connected to the handgun and those that can be quickly and repeatedly connected to the handgun by releasing a holding mechanism.
- cartridge magazines which are then also called cartridge insert magazines, drum magazines and row magazines are particularly well known.
- the cartridge magazine on which the invention is based in its various embodiments refers specifically to such a series magazine.
- the cartridges are stored in such a way that, when the cartridge magazine is at least partially full, they are tangentially positioned within the housing of the cartridge magazine Touch the sleeve walls.
- the contact points or the contact lines of the cartridges shift with one another.
- a handgun that has been used by authorities around the world for several decades is a self-loading rifle based on the AR - 15 / A 16 model.
- this weapon has a magazine shaft that is open at the bottom and into which suitable cartridge magazines can be inserted.
- Cartridge magazines with different capacities are known for this purpose. Magazines with a capacity of 20 or 30 cartridges are now used to operate this weapon model or similar handguns.
- a handgun of the same type is understood to mean a self-loading rifle that offers the operator a choice between a first mode in which the weapon can be operated in such a way that A single shot is always fired by pressing the trigger once and a second mode in which the weapon can be operated in such a way that a plurality of shots are always fired by pressing the trigger once.
- the generic identity of the handgun described should also be maintained if the operator, when selecting a plurality of shots to be fired, also chooses between firing a closed group of shots, for example 3 or 5 shot bursts or one Can choose continuous fire.
- the cadence of a handgun of the type described today is usually between 600 rounds per minute and approx. 1200 rounds per minute.
- drum magazines are a major disadvantage for the operator when it comes to carrying and handling the handgun.
- Such a magazine significantly increases the effectiveness of a handgun associated with it compared to magazines that hold 20 or 30 cartridges, since a magazine change, during which the handgun is not operational and during which its operator is also unprotected, is only necessary after twice or three times as long a period of use .
- the cartridge magazine is also increasingly susceptible to dirt, wear and failure due to the large number of individual parts that are movably arranged inside the magazine housing.
- the housing can only withstand limited pressure on the inner side surfaces. It is therefore a particular object of the invention to overcome these and other disadvantages.
- At least one part of the tasks is solved in a housing of the type mentioned in that the first area is designed to accommodate four rows of cartridges arranged directly next to one another and preferably offset from one another in the Z direction, and the second area is designed to accommodate two directly rows of cartridges arranged next to each other and preferably offset from one another in the Z direction are formed.
- the housing can be made particularly slim, which greatly improves the handling of a cartridge magazine comprising such a housing.
- the cartridges are arranged directly in relation to one another because they touch each other directly, i.e. directly, at least in some areas of their lateral surfaces.
- the cartridges Since in a cartridge magazine for a handgun only one cartridge is always removed from the magazine lips during the loading process, the cartridges must be arranged in such a way that only a single cartridge can always rest with its lateral surface on at least one of the two magazine lips. So if one area has a space for more rows of cartridges than another area, the individual cartridges of the rows of cartridges must roll among themselves in the zipper system on their lateral surfaces in the transition area (intermediate area) arranged between them when the rows of cartridges are reduced, so to speak. However, if an intermediate wall is provided, this process will be disrupted. As a result, individual cartridges are conveyed towards the magazine lips at different speeds. There are even real jumps in speed. Individual cartridges temporarily lose control of their neighboring cartridges.
- a cartridge magazine with an intermediate wall is not suitable for providing a repeatable movement process of the cartridges it contains as they move towards the magazine lips and is therefore only suitable for use to a limited extent.
- the first area is designed to accommodate four rows of cartridges arranged directly next to one another and preferably offset from one another in the Z direction and that the second area is designed to receive two rows of cartridges arranged immediately next to one another and preferably offset from one another in the Z direction
- Cartridges are designed, a repeatable movement process of all cartridges located in the magazine and removed one after the other from the magazine lips during operation is ensured. This ensures that the cartridges roll smoothly against each other on their lateral surfaces.
- the wall thicknesses of a housing according to the invention are for a Cartridge magazine does not have to differ significantly from the wall thicknesses of conventional cartridge magazines and their housings with a significantly lower capacity.
- the cartridges P are arranged directly adjacent to one another in all areas of the housing.
- At least some of the tasks are solved in a cartridge magazine of the type mentioned in that the first area is designed to hold four rows of cartridges arranged directly next to one another and preferably offset from one another in the Z direction, and the second area is designed to hold two directly rows of cartridges arranged next to each other and preferably offset from one another in the Z direction are formed.

- the wall thicknesses of a housing according to the invention for a cartridge magazine do not differ significantly from the wall thicknesses of conventional ones Must differentiate between cartridge magazines and their cases with significantly lower capacities.
- the cartridge magazine has a locking piece which is movably arranged relative to the housing of the cartridge magazine and which is moved by the feeder movable through the second area into one in the housing in the rear wall between The free space arranged in the magazine lips can be moved.
- the locking piece is advantageously suitable for limiting freedom of movement of the breech of a handgun.
- the spear piece Advantage formed by a curved piece of sheet metal that is movably arranged to be supported on the inside and outside of the rear wall.
- the bent piece of sheet metal is then made of tempered spring steel. It is also advantageous if the piece of sheet metal has an approximately 90 degree bend between two approximately 180 degree bends.
- a cartridge magazine according to the invention can advantageously be designed with the advantageous design features of the housing for the cartridge magazine.
- the design options and their advantages for both objects will be described at the same time either using the housing or the cartridge magazine.
- the inner surface of the front wall has a first projection which projects into the interior of the housing in the direction of the extends the second region
- the inner surface of the rear wall has a second projection which protrudes into the interior of the housing in the direction of the X-axis and has a beginning in the first region and an end in the intermediate region along the Z-axis.
- the second projection allows the cartridges to be slightly spread apart in their position in the rear area, which means they can be easily aligned with one another in their front area. This improves the integration behavior of the individual cartridges with one another while reducing the number of cartridges formed from them Rows of cartridges in the magazine. The effect is particularly strong if the cartridges have a bottle-shaped case/casing. Both the first projection and the second projection are suitable for guiding the feeder(s) of a cartridge magazine and, last but not least, contribute significantly to the stability of the housing.
- the inner surfaces of the first side wall and the second side wall are preferably arranged essentially parallel to one another in the first region and in the second region and a virtual central plane is formed between them in the X and Z directions in the Y direction.
- the inner surfaces of the first side wall and the second side wall have a distance B from one another in the first area and a distance C from one another in the second area.
- the distance B is 1.85 times to 2.15 times, in particular 1.95 times to 2.05 times, the distance C.
- the interior of the housing/cartridge magazine is used particularly well so that the external dimensions can also be made particularly compact.
- the cartridges in the first area are in a similar position to one another as in the second area, which can significantly increase the functional reliability of the handgun operated with a cartridge magazine designed in this way.
- the cross section of the first region extending along the X-axis and the Y-axis is divided into a rectangular zone and a trapezoidal zone adjacent to the rectangular zone
- the cross section of the second region extending along the X-axis and the Y-axis is divided into a rectangular zone and a trapezoidal zone adjacent to the rectangular zone.
- Such a cross section is particularly suitable for cartridges with bottle-shaped silhouettes.
- the handling of the cartridge magazine can also be improved if the external shape of the housing / cartridge magazine is based on this cross section
- the distance b and C each relate to the distance between the inner surfaces of the side walls in the rectangular zone.
- first projection is arranged at least in sections within the central plane and/or the second projection is arranged at least in sections within the central plane
- the extent of the first projection in the X direction is between 5% of A and 30% of A, in particular between 5% of A and 18% of A and most particularly between 8% of A and 13% of A and/or the extent of the second projection in the X direction is between 5% of A and 30% of A, in particular between 5% of A and 18% of A and most particularly between 8% of A and 13% of A.
- the projections therefore point towards each other in the interior of the housing.
- cartridge magazines designed in this way were particularly resistant to contamination and were able to maintain their full functional reliability even under extreme contamination.
- the extent of the first projection in the X direction is, for example, between 3.0 mm and 18.0 mm, in particular between 4.0 mm and 10.0 mm and especially between 5.0 mm and 8.0mm and/or the extent of the second projection in the X direction is, for example, between 3.0 mm and 18.0 mm, in particular between 4.0 mm and 10.0 mm and most particularly between 5.0 mm and 8.0 mm.
- the distance A can be any value between 18.0 mm and 130 mm, with a value between 30.0 mm and 90.0 mm being preferred.
- the inner surface of the rear wall preferably has two grooves in at least one area, each of which extends laterally, preferably directly, adjacent to the second projection.
- the inner surface of the first side wall has an additional projection which protrudes into the interior of the housing in the direction of the Y-axis and has a start in the first area and an end in the intermediate area along the Z-axis and/or if the inner surface of the second side wall has an additional projection which projects into the interior of the housing in the direction of the Y-axis and has a beginning in the first area and an end in the intermediate area or in the second area along the Z-axis.
- the cartridge feeder(s) and/or the cartridges can also be guided laterally, which further reduces the risk of a misalignment of the cartridge and/or cartridge feeder and a possible resulting malfunction of the cartridge magazine.
- such projections increase the rigidity and stability of the housing.
- the additional projection or projections are in a border area between the rectangular zone and the the rectangular zone is arranged adjacent to the trapezoidal zone of the cross section of the first region.
- an advantageous embodiment results when the inner surface of the first side wall in the intermediate region is formed along a first curved path and the inner surface of the second side wall in the intermediate region is formed along a second curved path, the curved paths each comprising a turning point and extending from the bottom of the housing to the top of the housing in front of the respective one
- the turning point extends in the direction of the central plane and nestles behind the respective turning point on a first and a second parallel to the central plane.
- the curved paths are designed to be mirror-symmetrical.
- This is particularly suitable for a symmetrically constructed cartridge.
- first and second cam tracks are arranged offset from one another in the Z direction by an offset V.
- the offset V is between 7% and 35%, in particular between 10% and 25% and most particularly between 18% and 22% of the difference between distance B and distance C.
- the housing is made in one piece.
- interior and exterior surfaces can be designed particularly freely and annoying material overlaps can be avoided.
- the housing preferably consists of a homogeneous material, with the structure of the material in particular having the same design over the entire housing.

- the material structure is designed in the same way even if the material is a reinforced material.
- the housing is made of plastic.
- a polyamide in particular a reinforced polyamide or a polyetheretherketone (PEEK), is preferably used.

The invention ultimately relates to a method of operating a handgun using a cartridge magazine.
Particularly for official purposes, but also in sporting areas, it is often desirable to equip a handgun with high firepower by providing a suitable cartridge magazine. This refers to the ability to fire a large number of shots within a short period of time. Since changing a cartridge magazine takes a certain amount of time - for example 2 to 4 seconds - depending on the design of the holding mechanism and the skill of the operator, efforts are made to make the holding capacity of an individual cartridge magazine as large as possible.
However, this is counteracted by the handling of the cartridge magazine for the operator, who must also be able to carry the cartridge magazine outside of the handgun - as a replacement magazine - which must be able to manage a magazine change even in stressful situations for the operator and the handling of the handgun with the cartridge magazine inserted if possible not or at least as little as possible.
A handgun that has been used by authorities around the world for several decades is a self-loading rifle based on the AR - 15 / A 16 model. For the repeatable, detachable connection of cartridge insert magazines to the handgun, this weapon has a magazine shaft that is open at the bottom and into which suitable cartridge magazines can be inserted. Cartridge magazines with different capacities are known for this purpose. Magazines with a capacity of 20 or 30 cartridges are now used to operate this weapon model or similar handguns. A handgun of the same type is understood to mean a self-loading rifle that offers the operator a choice between a first mode in which the weapon can be operated in such a way that A single shot is always fired by pressing the trigger once and a second mode in which the weapon can be operated in such a way that a plurality of shots are always fired by pressing the trigger once. In the context of the present description, the generic identity of the handgun described should also be maintained if the operator, when selecting a plurality of shots to be fired, also chooses between firing a closed group of shots, for example 3 or 5 shot bursts or one Can choose continuous fire.
How quickly the shots are fired one after the other by the handgun when an automatic firing sequence is selected after only pulling the trigger once is called the cadence. The cadence of a handgun of the type described today is usually between 600 rounds per minute and approx.
A 30-round magazine, on the other hand, lasts exactly 2 seconds. Assuming that a magazine change can be completed in 3 seconds even under operational conditions, the handgun achieves an operational effectiveness of approx. 40%.
With a 60-round magazine, on the other hand, it achieves an operational effectiveness of approx. 58% under otherwise identical conditions and thus experiences an increase of almost 50%.
Unfortunately, for various reasons, the experience gained in the construction of cartridge magazines with a capacity of 20 or 30 rounds can only be transferred to a very limited extent to the construction of such high-capacity magazines with, for example, 60 rounds. Despite the long-recognized need for high-capacity series magazines, high-capacity magazines are now offered almost exclusively as drum magazines. However, drum magazines are a major disadvantage for the operator when it comes to carrying and handling the handgun.

Such a magazine significantly increases the effectiveness of a handgun associated with it compared to magazines that hold 20 or 30 cartridges, since a magazine change, during which the handgun is not operational and during which its operator is also unprotected, is only necessary after twice or three times as long a period of use .
In addition, various disadvantages have become apparent during prolonged use of the housing and magazine. The cartridge magazine is also increasingly susceptible to dirt, wear and failure due to the large number of individual parts that are movably arranged inside the magazine housing. In addition, the housing can only withstand limited pressure on the inner side surfaces. It is therefore a particular object of the invention to overcome these and other disadvantages.
The above-mentioned tasks are achieved by a housing according to
At least one part of the tasks is solved in a housing of the type mentioned in that the first area is designed to accommodate four rows of cartridges arranged directly next to one another and preferably offset from one another in the Z direction, and the second area is designed to accommodate two directly rows of cartridges arranged next to each other and preferably offset from one another in the Z direction are formed.
Because the rows of cartridges in the first area and in the second area are arranged directly next to one another, the housing can be made particularly slim, which greatly improves the handling of a cartridge magazine comprising such a housing.
The cartridges are arranged directly in relation to one another because they touch each other directly, i.e. directly, at least in some areas of their lateral surfaces.
Since in a cartridge magazine for a handgun only one cartridge is always removed from the magazine lips during the loading process, the cartridges must be arranged in such a way that only a single cartridge can always rest with its lateral surface on at least one of the two magazine lips. When the cartridges later slip, the outer surfaces of the cartridges then hit each other. Such processes are difficult to calculate and can significantly increase the susceptibility to failure of a handgun, especially when operating a handgun at high frequencies. A cartridge magazine with an intermediate wall is not suitable for providing a repeatable movement process of the cartridges it contains as they move towards the magazine lips and is therefore only suitable for use to a limited extent. The fact that, according to the invention, the first area is designed to accommodate four rows of cartridges arranged directly next to one another and preferably offset from one another in the Z direction and that the second area is designed to receive two rows of cartridges arranged immediately next to one another and preferably offset from one another in the Z direction Cartridges are designed, a repeatable movement process of all cartridges located in the magazine and removed one after the other from the magazine lips during operation is ensured. This ensures that the cartridges roll smoothly against each other on their lateral surfaces.
Since the lack of impact on the lateral surfaces of the cartridges with one another also results in significantly lower transverse forces that act on the side surfaces from the inside, it has surprisingly been shown that the wall thicknesses of a housing according to the invention are for a Cartridge magazine does not have to differ significantly from the wall thicknesses of conventional cartridge magazines and their housings with a significantly lower capacity.
In order to ensure a trouble-free and repeatable process sequence during operation during the gradual ascent of the cartridges into the interior of the housing/cartridge magazine, it is particularly advantageous to provide that the cartridges P are arranged directly adjacent to one another in all areas of the housing.

At least some of the tasks are also solved in a cartridge magazine of the type mentioned in that the cartridge magazine has a locking piece which is movably arranged relative to the housing of the cartridge magazine and which is moved by the feeder movable through the second area into one in the housing in the rear wall between The free space arranged in the magazine lips can be moved.
The locking piece is advantageously suitable for limiting freedom of movement of the breech of a handgun. Next is the spear piece Advantage formed by a curved piece of sheet metal that is movably arranged to be supported on the inside and outside of the rear wall. With great advantage, the bent piece of sheet metal is then made of tempered spring steel. It is also advantageous if the piece of sheet metal has an approximately 90 degree bend between two approximately 180 degree bends.
It goes without saying that a cartridge magazine according to the invention can advantageously be designed with the advantageous design features of the housing for the cartridge magazine. With regard to an economical description and in order to avoid repetitions, the design options and their advantages for both objects will be described at the same time either using the housing or the cartridge magazine. Even if the other subject matter is not mentioned, the person skilled in the art knows that the advantages described in the context can also be transferred to the other subject matter of the invention.
In a first advantageous embodiment, the inner surface of the front wall has a first projection which projects into the interior of the housing in the direction of the extends the second region, and the inner surface of the rear wall has a second projection which protrudes into the interior of the housing in the direction of the X-axis and has a beginning in the first region and an end in the intermediate region along the Z-axis.
In this way, the order between the individual cartridges to be accommodated in the housing of the cartridge magazine can be improved. The second projection allows the cartridges to be slightly spread apart in their position in the rear area, which means they can be easily aligned with one another in their front area.
The inner surfaces of the first side wall and the second side wall are preferably arranged essentially parallel to one another in the first region and in the second region and a virtual central plane is formed between them in the X and Z directions in the Y direction.
Auf diese Weise wird ein Wiederholgenauer Prozess der Patronenbewegung innerhalb des Gehäuses / des Patronenmagazins im Betrieb zusätzlich unterstütztIn this way, a repeatable process of cartridge movement within the housing/cartridge magazine is additionally supported during operation
Furthermore, it can be advantageous if the inner surfaces of the first side wall and the second side wall have a distance B from one another in the first area and a distance C from one another in the second area.
It is of great advantage if the distance B is 1.85 times to 2.15 times, in particular 1.95 times to 2.05 times, the distance C.
In this way, the interior of the housing/cartridge magazine is used particularly well so that the external dimensions can also be made particularly compact. In addition, the cartridges in the first area are in a similar position to one another as in the second area, which can significantly increase the functional reliability of the handgun operated with a cartridge magazine designed in this way.
It is preferred that the cross section of the first region extending along the X-axis and the Y-axis is divided into a rectangular zone and a trapezoidal zone adjacent to the rectangular zone, and the cross section of the second region extending along the X-axis and the Y-axis is divided into a rectangular zone and a trapezoidal zone adjacent to the rectangular zone.
In this way, the stability of the housing is increased.
In addition, the previously mentioned effects, for example forcing the cartridges located in the cartridge magazine to tilt slightly towards one another by means of the housing, can be supported.
Furthermore, such a cross section is particularly suitable for cartridges with bottle-shaped silhouettes.
Auch kann die Handhabung des Patronenmagazins so verbessert werden, wenn auch die äußere Form des Gehäuses / des Patronenmagazins sich an diesen Querschnitt anlehntThe handling of the cartridge magazine can also be improved if the external shape of the housing / cartridge magazine is based on this cross section
In such a configuration, the distance b and C each relate to the distance between the inner surfaces of the side walls in the rectangular zone.
Mit großem Vorteil ist dafür gesorgt, dass der erste Vorsprung wenigstens abschnittsweise innerhalb der Mittelebene angeordnet ist und/oder der zweite Vorsprung wenigstens abschnittsweise innerhalb der Mittelebene angeordnet istIt is very advantageous to ensure that the first projection is arranged at least in sections within the central plane and/or the second projection is arranged at least in sections within the central plane
This increases the stability of the housing in a particularly simple way. In addition, such a design promotes a trouble-free process when regrouping the cartridges from a four-row arrangement into a two-row arrangement within the housing.
Ebenfalls bevorzugt ist, dass die Ausdehnung des ersten Vorsprungs in X-Richtung zwischen 5 % von A und 30 % von A, insbesondere zwischen 5 % von A und 18 % von A und ganz insbesondere zwischen 8 % von A und 13 % von A beträgt
und/oder die Ausdehnung des zweiten Vorsprungs in X-Richtung zwischen 5 % von A und 30 % von A, insbesondere zwischen 5 % von A und 18 % von A und ganz insbesondere zwischen 8 % von A und 13 % von A beträgt.It is also preferred that the extent of the first projection in the X direction is between 5% of A and 30% of A, in particular between 5% of A and 18% of A and most particularly between 8% of A and 13% of A
and/or the extent of the second projection in the X direction is between 5% of A and 30% of A, in particular between 5% of A and 18% of A and most particularly between 8% of A and 13% of A.
Die Vorsprünge weisen also im Innenraum es Gehäuses aufeinander zu.The projections therefore point towards each other in the interior of the housing.
These values have surprisingly achieved particularly good results in tests with regard to the functional reliability of the cartridge magazine and a handgun operated with a cartridge magazine designed in this way, as well as the stability of the housing of the cartridge magazine.
Furthermore, cartridge magazines designed in this way were particularly resistant to contamination and were able to maintain their full functional reliability even under extreme contamination.
Purely by way of example, the above-mentioned relationships will be explained better using a numerical example that cannot be considered conclusively. With a distance A of 58 mm, the extent of the first projection in the X direction is, for example, between 3.0 mm and 18.0 mm, in particular between 4.0 mm and 10.0 mm and especially between 5.0 mm and 8.0mm
and/or the extent of the second projection in the X direction is, for example, between 3.0 mm and 18.0 mm, in particular between 4.0 mm and 10.0 mm and most particularly between 5.0 mm and 8.0 mm. The distance A can be any value between 18.0 mm and 130 mm, with a value between 30.0 mm and 90.0 mm being preferred.
The inner surface of the rear wall preferably has two grooves in at least one area, each of which extends laterally, preferably directly, adjacent to the second projection.
In this way, particularly stable guidance of a feeder can be made possible if the feeder is shaped accordingly. In addition, such a design increases the dirt resistance of the housing/cartridge magazine.
For this purpose, the extent of the two grooves in the Surprisingly, material recesses in this area even increase the rigidity of the housing/cartridge magazine.
It is advantageous if the inner surface of the first side wall has an additional projection which protrudes into the interior of the housing in the direction of the Y-axis and has a start in the first area and an end in the intermediate area along the Z-axis and/or if the inner surface of the second side wall has an additional projection which projects into the interior of the housing in the direction of the Y-axis and has a beginning in the first area and an end in the intermediate area or in the second area along the Z-axis.
In this way, the cartridge feeder(s) and/or the cartridges can also be guided laterally, which further reduces the risk of a misalignment of the cartridge and/or cartridge feeder and a possible resulting malfunction of the cartridge magazine. In addition, such projections increase the rigidity and stability of the housing.
An important advantage also results from the fact that the cartridges are then guided with very little friction on the relatively narrow front areas of the projections. In addition, the frictional resistance that the cartridges and/or the cartridge feeders experience on their path in the main direction along the Z-axis and towards the magazine lips always remains approximately identical, whether the cartridge magazine/or housing is practically clean, or the cartridge magazine/or housing is very dirty remain so that the desired repeatability in the operation of the handgun can be maintained regardless of the degree of contamination.
It can be of additional advantage if the additional projection or projections are in a border area between the rectangular zone and the the rectangular zone is arranged adjacent to the trapezoidal zone of the cross section of the first region.
Überraschender Weise hat sich gezeigt, dass es vorteilhaft ist, den oder die Patronenzuführer und oder die Patronen seitlich vorzugsweise nur durch einen einzelnen Vorsprung zu unterstütze, wobei es vorteilhaft ist, wenn der Vorsprung von der Innenfläche der hinteren Wand in einer Entfernung von etwa 0,65 mal Abstand A bis 0,85 mal Abstand ASurprisingly, it has been shown that it is advantageous to support the cartridge feeder or cartridges laterally, preferably only by a single projection, it being advantageous if the projection is from the inner surface of the rear wall at a distance of approximately 0. 65 times distance A to 0.85 times distance A
An advantageous embodiment results when the inner surface of the first side wall in the intermediate region is formed along a first curved path and the inner surface of the second side wall in the intermediate region is formed along a second curved path, the curved paths each comprising a turning point and extending from the bottom of the housing to the top of the housing in front of the respective one The turning point extends in the direction of the central plane and nestles behind the respective turning point on a first and a second parallel to the central plane.
In this way, a particularly gentle way of guiding cartridges and/or cartridge feeders is achieved. This contributes significantly to stable, i.e. defined and repeatable operation.
It can be particularly advantageous if the curved paths are designed to be mirror-symmetrical.
This is particularly suitable for a symmetrically constructed cartridge.
It can also or additionally be advantageous if the first and second cam tracks are arranged offset from one another in the Z direction by an offset V.
This promotes trouble-free regrouping of the cartridges among each other particularly well.
It is preferred that the offset V is between 7% and 35%, in particular between 10% and 25% and most particularly between 18% and 22% of the difference between distance B and distance C.
Experiments have surprisingly shown that an offset within the specified range of values promotes particularly trouble-free operation.
It is a great advantage that the housing is made in one piece.
In this way, the stability of the housing and a cartridge magazine containing it becomes significant. In addition, interior and exterior surfaces can be designed particularly freely and annoying material overlaps can be avoided.
The housing preferably consists of a homogeneous material, with the structure of the material in particular having the same design over the entire housing.
Embrittlement, for example due to welding, can also be avoided.
In the sense of the present document, the material structure is designed in the same way even if the material is a reinforced material.
It is particularly advantageous if the housing is made of plastic.
This allows particularly light and durable housings to be formed. A polyamide (PA), in particular a reinforced polyamide or a polyetheretherketone (PEEK), is preferably used.
In order to achieve particularly inexpensive production, for example for so-called “disposable cartridge magazines”, polyethylene (PE) can also be used.
In a method according to claim 15 for operating a handgun using a cartridge magazine, at least part of the object(s) on which the invention is based is achieved in that when operating the handgun, a cartridge magazine with a housing according to one of

The
