Description

The present invention relates to a device for locking and/or unlocking a motor vehicle door.

Conventionally, door opening control devices comprise a capacitive sensor intended to detect contact between a hand of a user and a predetermined detection zone in order to command unlocking or locking of the door of the vehicle. These capacitive sensors are generally associated with a user identification system making it possible to remotely identify an authorized user.

However, the capacitive sensors used for the unlocking or locking of vehicle doors sometimes have detection problems when the contact between the user's hand and the detection zone does not take place under optimal detection conditions. .

Thus the detection, and consequently the unlocking and locking of the door or doors of the vehicle, are difficult to operate when the user is wearing a glove or when the detection zone is wet with rain or covered with frost.

Also, the present invention aims to overcome this drawback by proposing a locking and/or unlocking device making it possible to reliably lock or unlock a motor vehicle door independently of weather conditions and whether or not the user is wearing gloves.

To this end, the subject of the present invention is a device for locking and/or unlocking a motor vehicle door, the device comprising a detection wall having an internal face and an opposite external face, the external face forming a zone of contact detection, and detection means arranged against the internal face to detect contact between a finger or a hand of a user and said external face, in which the detection means comprise a sensor having a layer of piezoelectric material presenting surface undulations in the form of wrinkles, said layer of piezoelectric material being configured to detect a predetermined contact on the external face with a view to controlling, depending on the predetermined contact detected, the locking or unlocking of the leaf, and in which the detection zone extends over a surface greater than that occupied by the layer of piezoelectric material on the internal face.

Thus, the device according to the invention makes it possible to detect and identify a complex movement, of the sliding type, as well as its orientation (up, down, right or left) or tap, as well as its duration or frequency (single or double, for example), among several possible, in order to control the execution of the associated function, particularly the locking or unlocking of the sash, independently of the weather conditions that may affect the external face (frost, rain, etc.) and regardless of whether or not the user is wearing gloves.

This allows detection and identification of contact outside the part of the outer face which faces the layer of piezoelectric material. Thus, this allows the addition of one or more interface elements with the user, such as a screen, in the detection zone, close to the layer of piezoelectric material.

According to one embodiment, the device comprises lighting means adjacent to the detection zone.

This makes it possible to signal the detection zone when the user approaches the vehicle.

According to one embodiment, the lighting means comprise a plurality of light sources configured to emit a predetermined light signal in order to suggest to the user the execution on the detection zone of a predetermined contact.

According to one embodiment, the detection means are glued or overmolded on the internal face.

According to one embodiment, the device comprises a motor vehicle door handle, and the detection wall forms part of this handle.

According to one embodiment, the handle comprises a handle having an external side and an opposite internal side, and the detection wall is arranged on the external side of the handle handle.

According to one embodiment, the handle is flush with the bodywork of the vehicle and the detection wall is arranged on the outer side of this handle.

By handle flush with the bodywork is meant that the external side of the handle, and consequently the detection wall, is at the same level as the surface of the bodywork around the handle. Thus, seen from the outside, the handle forms neither a projection nor a cavity with respect to the bodywork.

According to one embodiment, the device comprises a motor vehicle door pillar, and the detection wall is integrated into this pillar.

According to another aspect, the subject of the invention is a door handle for a motor vehicle incorporating a locking and/or unlocking control device having the aforementioned characteristics.

According to yet another aspect, the subject of the invention is a motor vehicle comprising a locking and/or unlocking device having the aforementioned characteristics.

The device can be part of a door handle. It can alternatively be part of a fixed upright of the vehicle chassis, being able to be positioned if necessary opposite or close to a door handle.

According to another aspect, the invention also relates to a method for locking and/or unlocking a motor vehicle door comprising the steps:
  • detection of an authorized user near the vehicle,
  • detection of a predetermined contact on the detection zone of a locking and/or unlocking device having the aforementioned characteristics,
  • locking or unlocking of the opening according to the predetermined contact made by the user.

The step of detecting an authorized user close to the vehicle can precede or follow the step of detecting a predetermined contact on the detection zone.

Advantageously, the method includes a step of emitting a visual signal via the lighting means.

This step can follow the step of detecting an authorized user near the vehicle and precede the step of detecting a predetermined contact on the detection zone. It is also possible to consider that this step takes place after the step of locking or unlocking the opening.

As seen on the figures 2 to 4 , the locking and/or unlocking device 1 comprises a detection wall 30 and detection means fixed against this detection wall 30.

In the embodiment shown in the figures, this detection wall 30 is a wall of the door handle 2, and more precisely of the handle 23 of the handle 2. If necessary, the detection wall 30 is advantageously located on the outer side 233 of this handle 23. As visible on the figure 4 , the handle 23 of the handle 2 may be formed of two half-shells attached to each other, including an outer shell 237 and an inner shell 236, the outer shell 237 forming the wall 30 of detection. Thus, the detection wall 30 is accessible to the user from outside the vehicle. The detection wall 30 can be made of plastic material, for example ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) or PC-ABS (Polycarbonate and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene mixture) or even PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate). The detection wall 30 can also be made of metal, a carbon-based composite, or even covered with a metallic or non-metallic paint, the detection means being configured to operate with materials that are not transparent to the waves.

As seen on the picture 3 , the detection wall 30 has an internal face 31 and an opposite external face 33 .

The outer face 33 forms a contact detection zone intended to be activated by a finger or a hand of a user in order to control the locking or unlocking of the door. This outer face 33 preferentially extends in a longitudinal direction, in particular allowing the user to slide his finger along the detection zone, in one direction or the other, in a sweeping motion. In use, the detection zone can extend horizontally, so that the user slides his finger forwards or backwards to lock or unlock the vehicle, or vice versa. Other orientations of the detection zone relative to the vehicle are however possible. Furthermore, the outer face 33 can be smooth or not, convex or concave, or flat, painted or not. Preferably, the detection zone extends over an upper half of the handle 2.

As seen on the picture 3 , the internal face 31 is intended to support the detection means in order to transmit the vibrations or pressures exerted by the user on the external face 33.

The detection means are fixed against the internal face 31 and comprise a sensor 4 having a layer 40 made of a piezoelectric material, for example a ceramic film. The layer 40 of piezoelectric material makes it possible to detect a predetermined contact from among several possible predetermined contacts, with a view to controlling the execution of a predetermined function associated with the contact. detected, in particular the locking or unlocking of the sash. As illustrated on the figure 5 , the layer 40 of piezoelectric material has surface undulations in the form of wrinkles on which the pressure transmitted by the detection wall 30 is intended to be exerted when the user presses on the outer face 33 . Thus, the detection contact between this piezoelectric layer 40 and the internal face 31 is linear, formed by a plurality of lines corresponding to the crests or valleys of the undulations. These surface undulations offer a high and discriminating detection sensitivity, so that the sensor 4 makes it possible to detect complex movements, of the "swipe", "single tap" or "double tap" type, that is to say a contact in the form of sliding movement (as well as its orientation) or single or double touch. The sensor 4 can also detect a more or less prolonged pressing of the user on the external face 33 . The sensor 4 is connected for this purpose to an electronic chip (not shown) intended to identify the nature of the movement detected by the wrinkled piezoelectric layer and consequently send to a central unit of the vehicle a request for execution of a function associated with the movement. detected and identified, such as the locking or unlocking of the vehicle, or even the illumination of the door handle. The sensor 4 can also detect and annihilate parasitic movements such as vehicle cleaning actions, the friction of a branch or even the impact of gravel. Thus, the sensor 4 is configured to detect a predetermined contact among several possible predetermined contacts in order to control the execution of a predetermined function such as the locking or unlocking of the opening.

It will also be noted that the detection means are configured to allow detection including with a detection wall 30 which comprises materials that are not transparent to waves.

The structure of the sensor 4 can be similar to that of the sensor described in the application WO 2015/055788 .

With reference to the figure 5 , the sensor 4 advantageously comprises at least one electrode 41, 42 made of a conductive material on each side of the piezoelectric layer 40, as well as a substrate 43, for example made of polymer, to support the stack of electrode, piezoelectric layer, electrode, and allow its manipulation. Furthermore, the sensor 4 may comprise one or more protective layers 44, for example made of polymer material. Thus, according to one embodiment, the sensor 4 has a stack of substrate 43, electrode 41, wrinkled piezoelectric layer 40, electrode 42, protective layer 44. Advantageously, it is the substrate 43, here made of polymer, which is chosen to ensure contact with the internal face 31 of the detection wall 30. In this case, it is the valleys of the undulations which ensure the mechanical continuity.

The sensor 4 is advantageously in the form of a flexible film which can be fixed, for example by gluing or overmoulding, on the internal face 31 of the wall 30 of detection.

Dans ce cas, d'autres modes d'assemblages peuvent être envisagés par tout moyen de fixation mécanique comme des vis, rivets, ...The sensor 4 can alternatively be in a rigid form, for example if the substrate is a PCB (from the English “printed circuit board”, for printed circuit). In this case, other assembly methods can be envisaged by any means of mechanical fastening such as screws, rivets, etc.

As illustrated on the picture 2 , it will be noted that the detection zone, shown schematically in dotted lines, is advantageously larger than the sensor 4. Thus, this detection zone extends over a larger surface than that occupied by the sensor 4 on the internal face 31 of the detection wall 30. The sensor 4 therefore detects and identifies user contact with the external face 33 which may occur not only on the external face part 33 behind which the sensor 4 is located, but also on external face parts 33 which are close to sensor 4, around it. The detection is more reliable, on the one hand, and on the other hand it becomes possible to position additional equipment on the external face 33, in the detection zone, next to the sensor 4, such as for example an interface screen (not shown) with the user. By way of example, the ratio between the surface of the detection zone with respect to that occupied by the sensor can range from 1 to 1000, preferably from 10 to 500 and even more preferably from 100 to 500, for example from l order of 300.

With reference to the picture 3 , the device 1 can advantageously comprise lighting means for emitting a light signal indicating to the user the location of the detection zone. The lighting means are arranged close to the detection zone, for example under the detection wall 30, where appropriate in a lower half of the handle 2. The lighting means can form, with the detection wall 30 , the outer half-shell 237 of the handle 2. The lighting means preferably extend parallel to the detection zone.

Preferably, the lighting means comprise a plurality of light sources, advantageously light-emitting diodes (LED, or LED according to the English acronym). These light sources 5 are configured to turn on or off independently of each other in order to provide the user with a predetermined visual signal suggesting to him the nature of the movement to be performed on the area of detection. For example, with reference to the figure 1 , the light sources 5 light up successively in the direction of the arrow A, towards the rear of the vehicle, to suggest to the user the execution of a sliding movement intended for example to unlock the opening. The light sources 5 can also light up together at a predetermined frequency, to suggest a single or double touch movement, or remain lit for a predetermined time to suggest a more or less prolonged pressing of the user's finger on the face 33 external forming the detection zone. These light sources 5 can also change color to indicate the correct progress of the action, for example a green color for the unlocked state and a red color for the locked state.

Still with reference to the picture 3 , the lighting means comprise in particular a matrix 50 of multiplexed light-emitting diodes housed behind protective optics 51 also making it possible to diffuse the light emitted by the light-emitting diodes. The lighting means, more specifically the optics 51, can be fixed by gluing, clipping, screwing or overmolding to the detection wall 30 .

The device 1 can also comprise authorized user detection means, configured to detect the presence of an authorized user near the vehicle. The authorized user detection means comprise a system on board the vehicle, such as for example an antenna and a radio receiver, and an identifier carried by the authorized user, such as for example a key fob, a terminal such as a smartphone, or a transmitter key. Thus, the execution of the unlocking or the locking of the door(s) of the vehicle can be subordinated to the identification of an authorized user near the vehicle.

The locking and/or unlocking device 1 also includes a lock (not shown) movable between a locking position in which the lock keeps the leaf closed and an unlocking position in which the lock authorizes the opening of the leaf.

With reference to the figure 4 , when the locking and/or unlocking device 1 is integrated into a handle 2, this handle 2 may also include all or some of the following characteristics. The handle 2 can thus comprise pivot connection means rotatably connecting the handle 23 of the handle 2 and the frame 21. The pivot connection means can comprise a pin 24 mounted in the frame 21 and a pivot arm 22 connecting the axis to the handle 23 of the handle 2. Sealing means, such as a pivot joint 26, can also be fitted to the handle 2. The handle 2 can comprise a bent lever 27 rotatably mounted relative to the frame 21 and returned by return means, such as a spring 28, to a rest position. The handle 2 may further comprise an arm 29 rotatably mounted in the handle 23 on the one hand and rotatable with respect to the angled lever 27 on the other hand. The traction exerted by the user on the handle 2 of the handle 23 is thus transmitted via the rotary arm 29 to the angled lever 27, the rotation of the angled lever 27 allowing the door to be opened. The rotation of the angled lever 27 acts on a cable which in turn acts on the lock, causing the door to open. The central unit allows the unlocking of the door by sending an instruction to the lock actuator.

The handle 2 can comprise a cap 30 including a key cylinder allowing the unlocking or the locking of the sash by means of a mechanical key. Thus, the locking and/or unlocking device 1 comprises purely mechanical locking or unlocking control means configured to allow the door to be locked or unlocked by key, in particular in the event of an electrical fault.

The handle 2 also comprises a microswitch 32 making it possible to actuate an aid for opening the door, in particular an electric triggering of the strike plate of the door, if the lock is of the electromechanical type.

The operation of the locking and/or unlocking device 1 is described below.

The method for locking and/or unlocking a motor vehicle door may comprise an initial step of detecting a user via the authorized user detection means. This step can be followed by a step of emitting a predetermined visual signal via the lighting means, in order to signal the location of the detection wall 30 and/or to suggest to the user the execution of a predetermined contact on this detection wall 30 .

The electronic chip connected to the sensor 4 identifies the predetermined function, typically locking or unlocking of the opening, associated with the type of contact detected, and sends a request in execution of this predetermined function to the central unit of the vehicle. Insofar as the user has been previously identified as authorized, the central unit commands the unlocking or locking of the door, according to the contact movement made by the user. The user can then pull handle 2 to open the door

It will be noted that the method can alternatively begin with the contact detection step via the detection wall 30 and the sensor 4, then be followed by the authorized user detection step as soon as the central unit receives the request when executing a locking or unlocking. Insofar as the user is recognized as authorized, the central unit can then command the execution of the locking or unlocking. The step of emitting a visual signal by the lighting means can then take place to signal to the user that the locking or unlocking has been executed. In the case of unlocking, the user can then pull the handle 2 to open the door.

Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described above, this embodiment having been given only by way of example. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by the substitution of technical equivalents, without thereby departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
