Definitions
- the present invention relates to a chisel, in particular for a chisel and/or demolition hammer.
- the chisel has a free insertion end, via which the chisel can be inserted into an insertion sleeve of a tool holder along a working axis.
- the free insertion end has, at least in sections, a hexagonal cross section.
- the present invention also relates to a tool holder for accommodating a percussive and/or rotating tool, in particular a chisel, coaxially to a working axis of the tool holder.
- the tool holder has a base body with an insertion sleeve into which the tool can be inserted with a free insertion end.
- the insertion sleeve is equipped with a hexagonal cross section, at least in sections.
- Such chisels are basically known from the prior art and are used, for example, in the form of pointed chisels, flat chisels or spade chisels. Hexagonal cross-section spigots are typically referred to as HEX spigots. Corresponding tool holders are also known from the prior art.
- the object is achieved in that at least one guide segment is formed on a surface of the free insertion end, which modifies the hexagonal cross section and extends along the working axis.
- the invention includes the finding that a chisel often jams when it is inserted into a tool holder—more precisely, the free insertion end of the chisel is inserted into a corresponding insertion sleeve of the tool holder. Because at least one guide segment is formed on a surface of the free insertion end, which modifies the hexagonal cross section, the risk of the free insertion end tilting is reduced. This applies to both inserting and removing the chisel. At the same time it was observed that - if the insert sleeve of the tool holder is provided with a corresponding support section - the entry of metallic abrasions from the inside of a demolition hammer into the edges of the hexagonal cross-section of the socket can be reduced.
- the insertion end has at least one locking groove for locking the insertion end in the insertion sleeve.

- the locking device of the tool holder can have a ball, for example, which protrudes through a locking recess, which is preferably formed in a base body of the tool holder, into the locking groove of the chisel. In this way, axial movement of the chisel along the working axis can be limited.
- the chisel has a working side and the guide segment, based on the working axis and in the direction of view from the working side to the shank end, begins at the level of the locking groove at the earliest.
- the guide segment is only located on a side of the locking groove that faces away from the working side.
- the guide segment has a flat surface. It has turned out to be advantageous if the flat surface extends tangentially with respect to the working axis and is placed in the circumferential direction centrally over an edge of the hexagonal cross-section.
- the guide segment can have a concavely curved surface in relation to the working axis. It has proven to be advantageous if this surface is arranged in the circumferential direction centrally between two adjacent edges of the hexagonal cross section on a flank of hexagonal cross section.
- six guide segments are provided, which are arranged uniformly along a circumference. In a particularly preferred embodiment, exactly six guide segments are provided.
- the object is achieved in that at least one support section is formed on an inner surface of the insertion sleeve, which extends parallel to the working axis of the tool holder and which preferably serves to support the insertion end.
- the insertion sleeve has at least one locking recess for locking the insertion end in the insertion sleeve, the locking recess extending parallel to the working axis.
- the locking recess is preferably part of the locking device already described above.
- the insertion sleeve has an entry opening for the insertion end and the support section, in relation to the working axis, only extends on that side of the locking recess which faces away from the entry opening.
- the support portion has a planar surface that extends tangentially with respect to the working axis and is circumferentially centered over an edge of the hexagonal cross-section.
- the support section can have a concavely curved surface in relation to the working axis. It has proven to be advantageous if this surface is placed centrally in the circumferential direction between two adjacent edges of the hexagonal cross-section.

- the invention is also achieved by an electric hand tool, in particular in the form of a demolition hammer or rotary hammer, with a chisel as described above and/or a tool holder as described above.
- FIG. 1 A first preferred embodiment of a chisel 100 according to the invention is shown in figure 1 shown.
- the chisel 100 is intended for use in an electric hand tool in the form of a demolition hammer 300 (cf. figure 2 ) definitely.
- the chisel 100 has a free insertion end 110 via which the chisel 100 is inserted along a working axis A into an insertion sleeve 210 (cf. figure 2 ) a tool holder 200 of the demolition hammer 300 can be inserted.
- the free insertion end 110 has a hexagonal cross section 115 .
- a total of six guide segments 120 are formed on a surface OF of the free insertion end 110, which modify the hexagonal cross section 115 and each extend along the working axis A.
- the six guide segments 120 are arranged uniformly along the circumferential direction UR on the shank 110 . Due to the perspective representation, in Figure 1A only three of the guide segments can be seen.
- the six guide segments 120 each have a flat surface EOF, each of which extends in the tangential direction TR in relation to the working axis A. In the circumferential direction UR, each of the six guide segments 120 is placed centrally over an edge of the hexagonal cross section 115 . - the chisel 100 can be inserted with a free insertion end 110 into this insertion sleeve 210 .
- the insertion sleeve 210 has a hexagonal cross section 215 at least in sections.
- Six support sections 220 are formed on an inner surface IOF of the insertion sleeve 210 , which extend parallel to the working axis A of the tool holder 100 and serve to support the free insertion end 210 .
- the support sections 220 each have a flat surface EOF′, which extends in the tangential direction TR in relation to the working axis A and is each placed centrally above an edge 217 of the hexagonal cross section 215 in the circumferential direction UR. At this time, the six support portions 220 are evenly arranged along the circumferential direction UR of the inner surface IOF. Description
The present invention relates to a chisel, in particular for a chisel and/or demolition hammer. The chisel has a free insertion end, via which the chisel can be inserted into an insertion sleeve of a tool holder along a working axis. The free insertion end has, at least in sections, a hexagonal cross section. The present invention also relates to a tool holder for accommodating a percussive and/or rotating tool, in particular a chisel, coaxially to a working axis of the tool holder. The tool holder has a base body with an insertion sleeve into which the tool can be inserted with a free insertion end. The insertion sleeve is equipped with a hexagonal cross section, at least in sections.
Such chisels are basically known from the prior art and are used, for example, in the form of pointed chisels, flat chisels or spade chisels. Hexagonal cross-section spigots are typically referred to as HEX spigots. Corresponding tool holders are also known from the prior art.
It is the object of the present invention to create a chisel and a tool holder that promote comparatively safe and simple handling.
With regard to the chisel, the object is achieved in that at least one guide segment is formed on a surface of the free insertion end, which modifies the hexagonal cross section and extends along the working axis.
The invention includes the finding that a chisel often jams when it is inserted into a tool holder—more precisely, the free insertion end of the chisel is inserted into a corresponding insertion sleeve of the tool holder. Due to the pairing of the guide segment and the support section, such metallic abrasions are more or less wiped off when the chisel is inserted. This significantly reduces the risk of a locking device of the chisel becoming clogged. In practice, this means that the chisel according to the invention can be unlocked much more easily than previously known chisels.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the insertion end has at least one locking groove for locking the insertion end in the insertion sleeve. The locking groove preferably extends parallel to the working axis. The locking groove is preferably assigned to a locking device of a tool holder. The locking device of the tool holder can have a ball, for example, which protrudes through a locking recess, which is preferably formed in a base body of the tool holder, into the locking groove of the chisel. In this way, axial movement of the chisel along the working axis can be limited.
It has proven to be advantageous if the chisel has a working side and the guide segment, based on the working axis and in the direction of view from the working side to the shank end, begins at the level of the locking groove at the earliest. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the guide segment is only located on a side of the locking groove that faces away from the working side.
In a further preferred embodiment, the guide segment has a flat surface. It has turned out to be advantageous if the flat surface extends tangentially with respect to the working axis and is placed in the circumferential direction centrally over an edge of the hexagonal cross-section.
As an alternative or in addition, the guide segment can have a concavely curved surface in relation to the working axis. It has proven to be advantageous if this surface is arranged in the circumferential direction centrally between two adjacent edges of the hexagonal cross section on a flank of hexagonal cross section.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, six guide segments are provided, which are arranged uniformly along a circumference. In a particularly preferred embodiment, exactly six guide segments are provided.
With regard to the tool holder, the object is achieved in that at least one support section is formed on an inner surface of the insertion sleeve, which extends parallel to the working axis of the tool holder and which preferably serves to support the insertion end.
It has proven to be advantageous if the insertion sleeve has at least one locking recess for locking the insertion end in the insertion sleeve, the locking recess extending parallel to the working axis. The locking recess is preferably part of the locking device already described above.
In a particularly preferred embodiment it is provided that the insertion sleeve has an entry opening for the insertion end and the support section, in relation to the working axis, only extends on that side of the locking recess which faces away from the entry opening.
In another preferred embodiment, the support portion has a planar surface that extends tangentially with respect to the working axis and is circumferentially centered over an edge of the hexagonal cross-section.
Alternatively or additionally, the support section can have a concavely curved surface in relation to the working axis. It has proven to be advantageous if this surface is placed centrally in the circumferential direction between two adjacent edges of the hexagonal cross-section.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the tool holder has six support sections which are arranged uniformly along a circumference of the inner surface. It has proven to be advantageous if the support section is designed in one piece with the insertion sleeve.
In a further preferred embodiment, the support section formed in the insertion sleeve corresponds to the guide segment formed on the chisel. In other words, when the chisel is inserted, the support section and the guide segment are preferably in contact.
The invention is also achieved by an electric hand tool, in particular in the form of a demolition hammer or rotary hammer, with a chisel as described above and/or a tool holder as described above.
