Definitions
- the present invention belongs to the field of forestry winches, more precisely to the field of constructional details in forestry winches or other machines, which are provided with a space for storing a chainsaw.
- the present invention relates to an improved holder for tools, preferably a chainsaw, and a working machine, in particular a winch, with the said holder.
- the holder of the chainsaw could be installed parallelly to the ground, as described in document SI22801 , which would significantly improve protection of the chainsaw and prevent falling out of the chainsaw during transportation, however, the positioning according to SI22801 hampers pulling out of the chainsaw from the holder.
- the technical problem which is solved by the present invention, is a constructional design of the holder allowing better protection of the chainsaw and easy access to the chainsaw when its use is required.
- the solution should be suitable for other machines, which are used in forestry and in which presence of the tool holder is required.
- Patent SI22801 describes a winch with a device enabling safe and reliable mounting of a forestry tool onto the forestry winch, wherein the device at mounted in the area of a safety guard or a net of the forestry winch.
- the mentioned device has a first part provided with an approximately vertical slot arranged to receive a leaf of a chainsaw including the chain with cutting teeth, as well as one additional part removed from the first part, wherein the second part has an approximately horizontal supporting surface arranged to be in contact with the body of the chainsaw, and wherein at least one attachment means for attaching the body of the chainsaw to the said second part is provided.
- This solution describes the approximately horizontal position of the chainsaw during transportation, which differs from the present invention.
- the technical problem is solved as defined in the independent claim, wherein the preferred embodiments of the solution are disclosed in the dependent claims.
- the essence of the improved tool holder, preferably chainsaw holder, for installation onto a working machine, is in that the holder comprises:
- the rotational mounting via the first plate and the second plate is thus arranged for installation onto a working machine and enables rotation around the fulcrum so that the holder has a transport position and a position for pulling out the tool, wherein the angle between both positions is between 45° and 115°, preferably between 60° and 100°, most preferably around 90°.
- rotation is, due to safety, limited to 90° with regards to the transport position.
- the suitable angle is defined with suitable movement restricting elements or in any other known manner such as curved tin plate or similar solutions known to the person skilled in the art.
- the first plate is provided in its bottom part with a cut-out into which a screw connecting the second, third and fourth plate is trapped upon reaching the final position.
- the first carrier plate has an additional, second cut-out in its upper part, on the same side as the cut-out in the bottom part, wherein the second cut-out in the upper part is arranged to receive a bolt that connects the second, third and fourth plate once the holder reaches the second extreme position.
- Said plates are preferably rectangular or square-shaped, they may cover the chainsaw leaf in its entirety, wherein a suitable distance between the third and fourth plate is ensured with distancing elements, bushings, nuts or similar elements.
- the second, third and fourth plate are connected to each other with known inseparable connections such as welding or with known separable connections such as bolts and nuts, preferably with bolts and nuts.
- the material for the said holder is any suitable material known to the skilled person, preferably metal is used.
- the material of the carrier plate and all other plates may be the same or different, wherein for example the third and the fourth plate may be made from wood or plastic.
- the outermost plate, usually the fourth plate is provided with an additional hook or an attachment for receiving a handle of an axe or any other tool, which does not need a second holder according to the invention or does not need storage in any other place.
- the fulcrum may be achieved in any suitable manner, preferably a bolt is used, which is installed through a hole in the frame (housing) of the working machine, through a hole in the middle (central) part of the first plate and through a hole in the middle (central) part of the second plate.
- the bolt may be fixed with a nut, which is then located between the second and the third plate.
- the holder of the chainsaw is locked in the required position with a locking mechanism of a safety element, which may be any known in the art.
- the preferred embodiment of the locking mechanism is a locking pin, which is known and is commercially available.
- the locking pin In case movement of the holder into the position for use, i.e., pulling out the tool, the locking pin has to be pulled out, then the holder is rotated into the required position, which is suitable with regards to the height of the installed holder on the machine and the height of the user. Then the locking pin is re-inserted, thus locking the position.
- the holder upon pulling the tool from the holder, the holder returns to the transport position.
- this option is less preferred, as the user has to change positions after finished use of the tool in order to return it to the holder. In this case, the locking pin has to be pulled out, the holder rotated and only then the tool can be returned into the holder and into the transport position.
- the first and the second plate preferably have an ear (i.e., a protruding part) on one side, into which the locking pin may be inserted, thus further connecting the plates between themselves and preventing the second plate from rotation around the fulcrum.
- the locking mechanism is released, the first and the second plate are no longer connected, thus allowing the second plate to rotate around the fulcrum into the required position, which can be locked with the same locking mechanism.
- the working machine is preferably a forestry winch, and the preferred tool is a chainsaw, which is mostly used in forestry.
- another advantage of the improved holder is in that the holder is not installed on the safety net, so that the handle could protrude outside the winch area, but the holder is mounted on the frame or housing of a working machine or a forestry winch, respectively, so that in the transport position the whole tool, preferably chainsaw, is hidden (does not protrude out of the machine).
- the described holder protects the tools more reliably than known solutions, while it simultaneously allows easy access to the tool, when needed during work.
- Figure 1 shows a winch 1 with a known holder 2 of a chainsaw 3, wherein below the protective grid 1a a frame of the holder 2 is installed, said holder 2 being arranged to receive a leaf of the chainsaw 3, while its handle 3a protrudes outside the winch 1, which upon impact and vibration may result in damaged chainsaw or even the chainsaw 1 falls out from the holder 2.
- Figures 2 and 3 show the winch 1 with an improved holder 12 of the chainsaw 3 according to a possible embodiment, wherein figure 2 shows the position of the holder 12 during transport (transport position), when the chainsaw 3 is fully hidden behind the safety grid 1a and the frame of the winch 1, which provides optimal protection for the chainsaw 3. In addition, falling out of the chainsaw 3 is prevented.
- Figure 3 shows a position for pulling out the chainsaw 3. This position allows simple and user-friendly pulling out of the chainsaw 3 from the holder 12, which is especially pronounced in larger winches due to the higher position of the holder 12.
- the holder 12 may be installed on any side of the winch 1 frame, whereas the winch 1 may also be equipped with two holder 12, one on each side. Shapes of the holders may be the same or different, so that they allow placement of the same or different tools.
- FIG 4 shows an explosion scheme of the holder 12 according to a possible embodiment, which is shown in figure 5 as a whole.
- the holder 12 comprises the following components:
- the second 12b, the third 12c and the fourth 12d plate are connected to each other with bolts 12g, while a suitable distance between the third and the fourth plate 12c, 12d is ensured with nuts 12h.
- the first and the second plate 12a, 12b are provided with an ear (i.e., a protruding part) 12a', 12b' on one side, said ear being arranged to receive a locking pin 12f, so that the plates are additionally connected to each other and the second plate 12b cannot rotate around the fulcrum 12e.
- the first and the second plate 12a, 12b become disconnected and the second plate 12b together with the third and the fourth plate 12c, 12d may rotate around the fulcrum 12e into the required position for pulling out the chainsaw or any other tool.
- Rotation around the fulcrum 12a is enabled with an angle between both positions (transport and use (pulling out) between 60° and 100°, optimally around 90°.
- rotation around the fulcrum 12e is for safety limited to angle of 90° with regards to the transport position, said limitation is achieved with a cut-out 12a" in the bottom part of the first, carrier plate 12a.
- the cut-out 12a" is shaped so that upon reaching the final position, a bolt is stuck in the cut-out 12a", thus preventing further rotation of the holder 12.
- the first plate 12a has an additional, second cut-out 12a'" in the upper part, said cut-out 12a'" being provided on the same side as the first cut-out 12a", wherein the second cut-out 12a'" in the upper part is intended to receive the bolt 12g, which connected the second 12b, the third 12c and the fourth plate 12d, once the second extreme position of the holder is reached.
