- an energy-saving mode which is also referred to as the ECO function, is provided according to this exemplary embodiment.
- FIG. 2 shows a schematic representation of a steam device 102 according to an embodiment.
- the steam device 102 shown here can be of the type shown in FIG Figure 1
- the steam device 102 described correspond to or are similar and can be arranged accordingly in or on an ironing device comprising a hand-held device 106.
- the steam device 102 has the pump 200, the first heating element 202, the branch element 204 and the second heating element 206.
- the pump 200 is designed to transfer a liquid, such as, for example, water, from a storage container 208 to the first heating element 202 to pump.
- the first heating element 202 is designed to at least partially evaporate the liquid and make it available as vapor. In the case of a first delivery rate of the pump 200, the first heating element 202 is designed to completely evaporate the liquid.
- the first heating element 202 is designed due to its heating power to only partially evaporate the liquid supplied to the second heating element 202.
- the branch element 204 has a normal position assigned to a normal operating state of the ironing device and a boost position assigned to a boost state of the ironing device and is designed to provide the steam to the hand-held device 106 in the normal position and to convey it to the second heating element 206 in the boost position.
- the second heating element 206 is designed to further heat the steam provided by the first heating element 202 and to provide it to the hand-held device 106 as further heated steam.
- the first heating element 202 and the second heating element 206 are designed as a thermal block, which store thermal energy and can use it to generate steam if required.
- the steam device 102 as also in FIG Figure 1 already described, the control device 103, which is designed to control the pump 200, the first heating element 202, the second heating element 206 and the branch element 204.
- the control device 103 is designed to set a first delivery rate of the pump 200 during the normal operating state and a second delivery rate of the pump 200 during the boost state.
- the second delivery rate is greater than the first delivery rate.
- control device 103 is also designed to heat the second heating element 206 when the first heating element 202 has a setpoint temperature. This means that the control device 103 prioritizes the first heating element 202 over the second heating element 206. Furthermore, the control device 103 is optionally designed to provide a display signal 210 for displaying that the ironing device is ready to boost when the second heating element 206 has a further setpoint temperature.
- a suitable display device can be used for this purpose. For example, the willingness to boost is displayed visibly for a user by means of an LED.
- the control device 103 is also designed to transfer the branch element 204 into the boost position in response to a boost request, such as, for example, in response to a boost signal 212 when a button is actuated.
- the button is arranged, for example, on the hand-held device 106 or, alternatively, on the stationary part.
- another suitable input device can also be used.
- the control device 103 is optionally designed to transfer the branch element 204 into the normal position when the second heating element 206 falls below a minimum temperature.
- the boost mode on the other hand, can be requested temporarily by the user.
- the first heating element 202 which is also referred to as the first thermal block T1 is used to generate steam, in order to ensure rapid steam readiness through a small mass to be heated.
- the first heating element 202 is supplied with the liquid which is sucked in from the storage container 208 by the pump 200.
- the first heating element 202 is used for normal operation and its output is designed in such a way that there is a complete amount of electrical energy available minus the energy for the handheld device 106, that for the control device 103 and possibly for the existing additional units, such as a fan or an ironing board heater, required energy, exploits.
- the delivery rate of the pump 200 is coordinated so that, in the normal operating state, no more liquid is delivered than can safely be evaporated by the first heating element 202. This prevents, for example, dripping or spitting from the hand-held device 106.
- the branch element 204 In a path 213 from the first heating element 202 to the steam outlet, that is to say to the plurality of outlet openings, the branch element 204 is interposed, which divides the path 213 into a first steam path 214 and a second steam path 216.
- the first steam path 214 leads from the branch element 204 directly to the hand-held device 106 and is the only released path in normal operation.
- the second steam path 216 initially leads to the second heating element 206, which can be used as an energy store for the boost function.
- the second heating element 206 can only be supplied with energy when the first heating element 202 is completely heated and no longer requires any further energy.
- the power of the second heating element 206 can accordingly be just as great as that of the first heating element 202, since the first heating element 202 and the second heating element 206 are not operated at the same time. If a steam button is actuated during the heating phase of the second heating element 206, the energy supply is immediately returned to the first heating element 202, so that this is prioritized and ensures normal operation.
- the second steam path 216 also leads to the hand-held device 106.
- the second steam path 216 can, for example, be merged again with the first steam path 214 and use the same outlet openings. Alternatively, both steam paths 214, 216 remain separate and separate outlet openings are used.
- the second heating element 206 reaches its specified setpoint temperature, this is signaled to the user by only optionally adding, for example, a "Boost LED" or a comparable display is activated.
- Boost LED a boost LED
- the function of a boost button is enabled, by means of which a steam boost can be triggered.
- the branch element 204 is adjusted according to this exemplary embodiment in such a way that the first steam path 214 is closed and the second steam path 216 is released.
- the pump 200 is put into operation and set to the second delivery rate, which is greater than the first delivery rate in the normal operating state.
- the second delivery rate means that the delivered liquid no longer evaporates completely in the first heating element 202.
- a mixture of liquid and vaporized liquid is conveyed from the first heating element 202 via the branch element 204 to the second heating element 206. Since the second heating element 206 has previously been heated to a suitable temperature, there is sufficient energy available there to completely evaporate the entrained liquid. This means that the real evaporation output in a boost phase is significantly higher than a continuous steam output in the normal operating state. While the second heating element 206 releases the previously stored energy to the liquid-vapor mixture, it cools down quickly. It is therefore sensible to allow the steam device 102 to return to the normal operating state in good time.
- the delivery rate of the pump 200 is reduced again and the branch element 204 is then returned to its original state.
- the stored energy can be determined via the temperature, material and mass of the second heating element 206.
- a desired storage capacity can be achieved by appropriate selection and design of these parameters. In combination with corresponding data from the first heating element 202 as well as the enthalpy of vaporization of the liquid and the desired vapor temperature, it is possible to specify exactly how much liquid can be converted during a boost without overloading the system and thus undercooling. Compliance with this limit ensures that the system does not drip after a boost.
- the steam device 102 After a boost, the steam device 102 initially again requires a phase with lower utilization in order to heat the second heating element 206 back to its setpoint temperature. If the user switches the steam device 102 to the ECO mode, the second heating element 206 is not heated up at any time and in any load situation, which saves energy compared to the normal operating state. If the user does not use the boost function but has not activated the ECO mode either, a larger amount of energy is required once to bring the second heating element 206 to its operating temperature. Afterwards, however, only a small amount of energy is required to compensate for the unavoidable heat losses.
- the first heating element 202 is placed in the stationary part of the ironing device.
- the branch element 204 and the second heating element 206 are arranged directly on the hand-held device 106.
- This variant is characterized by a very short distance between the second heating element 206 and the plurality of outlet openings. This largely eliminates pressure losses during a boost.
- a separate steam outlet can be implemented in a very simple manner by means of a further plurality of outlet openings for the steam boost in order to further intensify a subjective effect for the user.
- the thermal storage mass cannot be selected arbitrarily high in the approach described here, in order not to unnecessarily impede usability due to excessive weight for the user.
- both heating elements 202, 206 and accordingly also the branch element 204 are arranged in the stationary part of the bracket device.
- a particularly short reaction time is achieved through a small distance between the first heating element 202 and the second heating element 206. Liquid carried over from the first heating element 202 reaches the second heating element 206 with a minimal time delay, where it is evaporated.
- the associated increase in volume significantly increases a flow rate in a connection hose to the hand-held device 106, as a result of which the steam reaches the outlet openings particularly quickly.
- condensation effects or liquid entrained between the two heating elements 202, 206 are largely excluded and can therefore be easily controlled.
- the approach described enables a measurably higher amount of steam for a short time than would be possible solely through the constantly available electrical power. Nevertheless, a standby time after switching on the device is not extended, as would be the result of large storage masses on the first heating element 202.
- An ECO function is also easy to implement. All components are implemented or can be implemented in addition to regular steam generation.
- FIG. 3 shows a flow chart of a method 300 for operating a steam device according to an exemplary embodiment.
- the method 300 can be used, for example, to operate a steam device as is used in one of the Figures 1 or 2 has been described.
- the method 300 comprises a step 302 of heating a first heating element, which is designed to evaporate a liquid and provide it as vapor, a step 304 of pumping the liquid to the first heating element, a step 306 of heating a second heating element, which is designed in order to further heat the steam and provide it to a hand-held device and a step 308 of setting a branch element.
- step 308 of the setting the branch element is set in a normal position assigned to a normal operating state of the ironing device and in a boost position assigned to a boost state of the ironing device, the steam is provided to the hand-held device in the normal position and the steam is passed to the second heating element in the boost position.

Description
The invention relates to a steam device for an ironing device comprising a hand-held device, an ironing device with a steam device and a method for operating the steam device.
When generating steam for ironing systems, from the customer's point of view, in addition to a fixed amount of steam, a brief, stronger burst of steam, for example for problem areas or thick textiles, is often desirable. The maximum amount of steam is an essential performance feature. The average available evaporation capacity is limited equally for all manufacturers by the electrical connection capacity. A different efficiency of the different heating systems, for example, only has a limited influence on the averaged amount of steam. Deviations in a continuous steam output are therefore largely due to adaptations of the system to the standardized measuring method that have been carried out with different effectiveness. Even if most customers want the device to have a particularly high performance, a customer request that is often mentioned is that the ironing system has an energy-saving function in which measurably less electrical energy is consumed than in normal operation. This is commonly referred to as the ECO function.
The object of the invention is to create a steam device for an ironing device comprising a hand-held device, an ironing device with a steam device and a method for operating the steam device.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by an improved steam device for an ironing device comprising a hand-held device, an improved ironing device with a steam device and by a method for operating the steam device with the features of the main claims. Advantageous refinements and developments of the invention emerge from the following subclaims.
The advantages that can be achieved with the invention are, in addition to achieving a measurably higher amount of steam while maintaining a device output.
A steam device for an ironing device comprising a hand-held device is therefore presented. The steam device has a first heating element, which is designed to evaporate an at least partially liquid and to provide it as steam, and a pump, which is designed to convey the liquid to the first heating element. Furthermore, the steam device has a second heating element which is designed to the to further heat steam provided by the first heating element and to provide steam to the hand-held device as further heating, and a branch element which has a normal position assigned to a normal operating state of the ironing device and a boost position assigned to a boost state of the ironing device. The branch element is designed to provide the steam to the hand-held device in the normal position and to conduct it to the second heating element in the boost position.
The ironing device can be implemented, for example, as a commercially available ironing system that can be used to smooth objects, preferably textiles. It can be a household appliance, for example. Since there is a large number of different types of textiles and the textiles can therefore react differently to, for example, heat, the ironing device has, for example, a steam function. The steam device is designed to enable the steam function. The steam device can have, for example, stationary and additionally or alternatively mobile components, that is to say arranged in the hand-held device. The hand-held device can for example be shaped as an iron. The first heating element and additionally or alternatively the second heating element can be implemented as an energy store, for example, in order to advantageously store the energy for as long as possible. The liquid can be, for example, water, which in a vaporized state turns into water vapor. Depending on the pumping power, the liquid pumped to the first heating element can be evaporated completely or only partially. If the liquid is only partially evaporated, post-evaporation can be carried out in the second heating element by positioning the branch element accordingly. The normal operating state of the ironing device can be selected by a user or can be preset as standard. In the normal operating state, only the first heating element can be used to generate steam. The boost state of the ironing device can be selected by a user. In the boost state, in addition to the first heating element, the second heating element can also be used to generate steam. This allows the amount of steam that can be generated to be increased.
According to one embodiment, the first heating element can be formed as a first thermal block and the second heating element can be formed as a second thermal block. In this way, the applied energy can advantageously be stored in the respective heating element and used to vaporize the supplied liquid. In addition, alternating heating of the two heating elements is possible in this way, with the heating element that is then currently not heated, due to its storage function, still being able to be used to evaporate liquid.
The steam device can have a control device which is designed to control the pump, the first heating element, the second heating element and the branch element. The control device can be implemented, for example, as a circuit board in a control device or as a control device which is optionally designed to also control other functions of the steam device and additionally or alternatively the ironing device. The control device can be designed to read in input signals and to determine and provide output signals using the input signals. An input signal can, for example, represent a sensor signal that can be read in via an input interface of the control device. An output signal can represent a control signal or a data signal that can be provided at an output interface of the control device. The control device can be designed to determine the output signals using a processing rule implemented in hardware or software. For example, for this purpose the control device can comprise a logic circuit, an integrated circuit or a software module and, for example, be implemented as a discrete component or be comprised of a discrete component.
According to one embodiment, the control device can be designed to heat the second heating element in particular only when the first heating element has a setpoint temperature. Advantageously, the control device can, for example, read in signals such as a temperature signal and evaluate them additionally or alternatively. The target temperature can be predetermined and stored in a memory unit. In this way, the maximum electrical energy used for heating the heating elements can be limited to a predetermined maximum value.
According to one embodiment, the control device can furthermore be designed to provide a display signal for displaying that the ironing device is ready to boost when the second heating element has a further setpoint temperature. As a result, a user can be signaled by means of an LED display, such as a flashing lamp, that a boost function of the ironing device is ready.
According to one embodiment, the control device can be designed to transfer the branch element into the boost position in response to a boost request. The boost request can be triggered by the user, for example, by pressing a button.
According to one embodiment, the control device can be designed to transfer the branch element into the normal position when the second heating element falls below a minimum temperature. In this case, the control device can also be designed to reduce a delivery rate of the pump. In this way, the discharge of non-evaporated liquid can be avoided.
The control device can furthermore be designed to set a first delivery rate of the pump during the normal operating state and a second delivery rate of the pump during the boost state, the second delivery rate being greater than the first delivery rate. As a result, a large amount of steam can advantageously be released overall in the boost state in order to advantageously be able to work satisfactorily, for example, on problem areas or thick areas of textiles to be smoothed.
Furthermore, an ironing device with a steam device in one of the aforementioned variants, a stationary part and the hand-held device is presented, the hand-held device having a plurality of outlet openings which are designed around the one generated by the first heating element and additionally or alternatively by the second heating element continue to let out heated steam.
The stationary part can for example comprise an ironing board, the pump and a water tank. The stationary part can be implemented such that it can be coupled to the hand-held device. The outlet openings on the hand-held device can be shaped, for example, as nozzles in a sole of the hand-held device. The steam can be released through the nozzles.
According to one embodiment, the hand-held device can have a further plurality of outlet openings which are designed to in particular only let out the steam further heated by the second heating element. The further plurality of outlet openings can advantageously be implemented as a plurality of nozzles.
The first heating element can be arranged in the stationary part of the ironing device and the second heating element and the branch element can be arranged in the hand-held device. Advantageously, a pressure loss and steam cooling during the boost process can thereby be reduced.
According to one embodiment, the first heating element, the second heating element and the branch element can be arranged in the stationary part of the ironing device. The hand-held device can advantageously be made very compact as a result.
A method for operating a steam device in one of the aforementioned variants is also presented, the method comprising a step of heating, a step of pumping, a further step of heating and a step of setting. In the heating step, a first heating element is heated which is designed to at least partially evaporate a liquid and as a vapor provide. In the pumping step, the liquid is pumped to the first heating element. In the further heating step, a second heating element is heated which is designed to heat the steam further and to provide it to the hand-held device as further heated steam. In the setting step, a branch element is set in a normal position assigned to a normal operating state of the ironing device and in a boost position assigned to a boost state of the ironing device, and the steam is provided to the hand-held device in the normal position and is directed to the second heating element in the boost position.
The method can advantageously be carried out by a control device as it is built into the steam device. The steam device can advantageously be used in an energy-saving manner as a result of the method.
If the program product or program is executed on a computer or a control device, the program product or program can be used to carry out, implement and / or control the steps of the method according to one of the embodiments described above.

According to this exemplary embodiment, the
In other words, the
In other words, according to this exemplary embodiment, the
In a
In the further course, the
As soon as the
After a boost, the
According to this exemplary embodiment, the
Alternatively, both
In summary, the approach described enables a measurably higher amount of steam for a short time than would be possible solely through the constantly available electrical power. Nevertheless, a standby time after switching on the device is not extended, as would be the result of large storage masses on the
