Definitions
- the present invention relates to the railway field, and more particularly, the field of guiding work equipment along a railway train.
- the present invention relates in particular to a railway train with a guidance system for guiding work equipment, in particular a tracked or wheeled construction machine such as a construction shovel, a lifting platform machine and the like, on the train. , as well as on a combination of such a railway train and working equipment.
- a guidance system for guiding work equipment in particular a tracked or wheeled construction machine such as a construction shovel, a lifting platform machine and the like
- guidance and support devices comprising two rolling side rails, fixed along the length of each wagon, on which the rolling means work equipment can be driven while being guided.
- the present invention aims to solve the drawbacks mentioned above of the guidance devices of the prior state of the art, by proposing a guidance system allowing safer guidance of work equipment along a railway train, in particular avoiding the risk of derailment of the work equipment, more precise in use, simpler to implement and less expensive.
- the present invention aims to propose a guidance system making it possible to guide any work equipment, namely both a tracked machine and a wheeled vehicle, without it being necessary to modify the means of mobility (wheels, tracks, etc.) of the work equipment, on the condition however that said means of mobility offer in use a minimum lift length which is greater than the inter-wagon distance of the train on which the equipment of work is intended to circulate.
- minimum lift length means the minimum distance, during movement of the work equipment, between the two extreme points, in the longitudinal direction, of contact between the means of mobility and a wagon. In practice, this minimum distance will be that at the moment when, after the work equipment has started to leave a first wagon and is therefore partly cantilevered from the latter, the means of mobility of the 'work equipment are about to reach the second wagon.
- the bearing length will therefore be the length of the part of the caterpillars which is still in contact with the first wagon.
- the means of mobility are wheels, then they must have at least three axles and the bearing length will be the distance between the wheels of the axle closest to the edge of the first wagon and the axle the furthest from said edge.
- the length of the tracks will be at least twice the inter-wagon distance and that, in the case of a wheeled machine, the means of mobility will include at least three axles, the center distance between the front axle and the next axle and the center distance between the rear axle and the axle just before the latter will be at least equal to the inter-wagon distance.
- the inter-wagon distance is in principle the distance between the parts of the wagons which provide support for the means of mobility of the work equipment.
- the floor is simply rectangular and forms the only support area for the work equipment, so that the inter-wagon distance will in principle be the distance, measured in the longitudinal direction of the trainset, between the two edges of the floors which face each other.
- the floor of each wagon comprises, extending from each of its two transverse edges, a pair of two support surfaces extending in the direction of the other wagon, the distance between the two support surfaces of the same pair, in particular their centers, being equal to the track of the work equipment, so that the means of mobility can also run on the two support surfaces of a first wagon before reaching the two corresponding support surfaces of the following wagon.
- the inter-wagon distance will in principle be the distance, measured in the longitudinal direction of the trainset, between the edges of the support surfaces of two successive wagons.
- the train will be intended to travel on railway tracks which will have curves, so that the values of the distances defined in the following paragraph may vary when the train takes a curve: the distance will decrease on the inside of the curve and it will increase on the outside of the curve. Therefore, when sizing the guidance system of the present invention, the person skilled in the art will have to take into account the railway tracks on which the train is intended to circulate, so that even in the curves in which the work equipment is intended to be worked, the inter-wagon distance as defined above or, on the outside, less than the minimum lift length of the work equipment.
- the present invention also aims to propose a guidance system which does not modify the dynamic behavior of the wagons, such that the wagon equipped with the guidance system according to the present invention can benefit from the certification granted to the base wagon. This is in practice very advantageous since such certification, which is compulsory for the trainset to be able to run on a railway line, is costly and complex.
- the subject of the present invention is therefore a railway train with a guidance system for guiding work equipment on the train, the train comprising at least two successive flat wagons each comprising a floor on which the work equipment is able to roll, the work equipment comprising for this purpose mobility means which offer, in use, a minimum length of lift which is greater than the inter-wagon distance of the trainset, the system comprising first guide means integral with each of the wagons and second guide means capable of being integral with the work equipment and capable of cooperating with the first guide means in at least two contact locations spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction of the wagon, the train being characterized in that the first guide means are formed, for each wagon, by a single longitudinal guide which is positioned on the longitudinal axis of the wagon floor and extends over the length of the wagon, two ends of two consecutive guides thus being opposite each other and at a distance from each other called the inter-guide distance, the second guide means being configured so that said at least two contact locations are spaced apart by a distance greater than said inter-guide distance.
- Such a guidance system with a single central guide per wagon is simple to implement, inexpensive, reliable and precise in use.
- a central guide makes it possible to guide with precision any work equipment comprising guide means capable of cooperating with the central guide, namely both a tracked machine and a wheeled vehicle, because the means of mobility of the latter can run directly on the floors of the wagons, guaranteeing the position of the equipment on the wagons and thus avoiding the risk of the equipment falling.
- the fact that the distance between said at least two contact locations is greater than the inter-guide distance makes it possible to ensure the continuity of the guidance of the work equipment when it passes from one wagon to another, because at all times the second guide means are in contact with at least one of the two guides.
- the guides are at a distance from each other, so as not to come into contact during the movement of the train.
- the guidance system according to the present invention therefore does not modify the dynamic behavior of the wagons, so that certification of the wagons equipped with the guides is not necessary.
- each guide has its two ends cantilevered relative to the floor of the respective car. This makes it possible to reduce the distance of movement of the work equipment over which the second guide means will only be in contact with the guide at one contact location, and therefore to guarantee precise guidance over the largest possible range of movement of the work equipment along the train, without the need to increase the longitudinal dimension of the second guide means, which further facilitates the adaptation of the second guide means to existing work equipment, without substantial modification of these.
- each guide is of fixed length.
- the inter-guide distance is then at least 210 mm.
- This minimum distance can advantageously be chosen to also take into account the fact that each wagon can comprise, at each of its two longitudinal ends, a pair of buffers arranged on either side of the guide, so that even in the event of an impact two guides consecutive do not come into contact with each other, and in this case the length of the cantilever of each guide is advantageously less than the minimum length of the buffers, it being understood that said minimum length is that in the retracted position stamps.
- the floor of each wagon may have, above the fixed part of each buffer, a support surface extending in the direction of the other wagon.
- each guide can be of variable length, in particular by being telescopic at each of its two ends.
- the energy of an impact can thus be absorbed by the retraction of the telescopic guides, avoiding damage to the latter.
- each guide may comprise a main longitudinal body of fixed length having two ends to each of which is slidably connected an end body also of fixed length, such that each end body is able to slide between a deployed position, in which it extends cantilevered from the wagon floor, and a rearward position, on the outside or inside the main body, in which it has been moved towards the center of the wagon, being provided with elastic biasing means, such as a spring, one end of which bears on the main body while the other end bears on the end body, which elastic biasing means bias each body of end to the deployed position.
- elastic biasing means such as a spring
- each guide comprises two vertical surfaces parallel to each other and against which the second guide means are able to come into rolling contact.
- the guides can take various shapes in cross section, such as an I cross section.
- each guide is a profile with a square or rectangular cross section.
- the second guide means comprise at least two pairs of rollers adapted to be mounted on the frame of the work equipment, the rollers of the same pair being spaced apart from each other so as to be each capable of coming into rolling contact with the guides, preferably simultaneously.
- the rollers of the same pair will also preferably face one another.
- the rollers are mounted on mounting means adapted to be fixed to the frame of the work equipment, between the latter's mobility means.
- the guiding of conventional work equipment is authorized, without modifying the means of mobility (wheels, tracks, etc.) of the work equipment.
- Said mounting means may comprise a single structure, such as for example a frame, on which all the rollers are mounted and which is fixed, removably or not, to the frame of the work equipment.
- said mounting means may for example comprise an individual structure for each roller or pair of rollers, such as a simple crosspiece, which individual structure is fixed, removably or not, to the frame of the work equipment.
- each roller is mounted for free rotation around a vertical axis of rotation.
- the present invention also relates to a combination of a railway trainset and work equipment, the trainset comprising at least two successive flat wagons each comprising a floor on which the work equipment is able to run, the equipment of work comprising for this purpose means of mobility which offer, in use, a minimum lift length which is greater than the inter-wagon distance of the trainset, characterized in that the railway trainset is a railway trainset with a guidance system such as defined above.
- the guidance system 1 is intended to be applied to a railway train R comprising a succession of wagons W of the flat type.
- Each flat wagon W comprises, in a conventional manner, a frame, traction elements, a floor P, and at each end a pair of buffers T.
- the guidance system 1 is intended to allow the guidance of work equipment E on the trainset R, along the wagons W, including passing from one wagon W to another.
- the guidance system 1 comprises first guide means 2, integral with the wagons W, and second guide means 3 adapted to be integral with the work equipment E and to cooperate with the first means guidance 2.
- the first guide means 2 comprise, for each wagon W of the train set R, a central longitudinal guide 20 .
- This guide 20 has no support function, but only a guide function.
- the guide 20 is formed by a profile of rectangular cross section, which has two longitudinal ends 21. More particularly, the profile thus comprises two opposite first sides 22 of a first width and two opposite sides 23 of a second width arranged perpendicular to the first sides 22, the second width being greater than the first width.
- the guide 20 could consist of a profile having another cross-sectional shape, for example a square cross-section.
- the guide 20 is fixed to the floor P of the wagon W by any suitable means, such as for example by welding.
- the guide 20 is fixed to the floor P of the wagon W with one of its first sides 22 in contact with the floor P and its two second sides 23 substantially perpendicular to the floor P, namely extending vertically.
- the guide 20 is fixed to the center of the floor P of the wagon W, said center being taken in the transverse dimension of the wagon W, and extends in the longitudinal direction of the wagon W. Thus, the guide 20 extends to the center of the wagon W, over the entire length of the wagon W, separating the floor P into two tracks of the same dimensions.
- the guide 20 has its ends 21 cantilevered with respect to the floor P of the wagon W.
- the two ends 21 of the longitudinal guide 20 protrude horizontally on either side of the front and rear transverse edges of wagon W.
- each end 21 of the guide 20 of a wagon W is spaced by a so-called inter-guide distance, in the longitudinal direction, from the corresponding end 21 of the guide 20 of the adjacent wagon W.
- each cantilevered region of the guide 20 can extend, for example, over a length which is less than the length of the buffers T of the wagon W. Mention can be made, for example, of an inter-guide distance at least 210 mm for buffers T of minimum length, namely in the retracted position, of 105 mm.
- each buffer T is advantageously surrounded by a box 24 made of sheet metal which is fixed to the wagon W, preferably in a removable manner, for example by bolting, to allow access to the buffer T if necessary, and comprises two vertical walls on either side of the buffer T and a horizontal upper wall which constitutes a support surface 24a extending from the transverse edge of the conventional wagon, in the direction of the other wagon W.
- These bearing surfaces 24a form part of the floors P and provide surfaces on which the means of mobility D of work equipment E can roll.
- the second guide means 3 are attached, removably or not, to work equipment E (only part of which has been shown) whose minimum lift length is greater than the distance between them. wagons.
- work equipment E is a tracked machine.
- the guidance system could be applied to a wheeled machine.
- the second guide means 3 comprise mounting means, formed here by a mounting frame 30, and at least two pairs of guide rollers 31.
- the frame 30 is here rectangular and comprises two longerons and two crosspieces.
- the guide rollers 31 are four in number and arranged in a first pair of rollers 31 and a second pair of rollers 31.
- the two pairs of rollers 31 are spaced apart by a distance greater than the inter-guide distance.
- the two pairs of rollers 31 are mounted on the frame 30.
- a roller 31 is connected to the frame 30 at each of the four corners of the frame 30.
- the frame 30 thus constitutes a single mounting structure for all the rollers 31.
- the frame 30 is dimensioned such that the rollers 31 of each pair are arranged facing each other, in the transverse direction of the frame 30, and are spaced from each other by a distance such that in use, each roller 31 is in contact with a respective second side 23 of the guide 20.
- the transverse distance between rollers 31 of the same pair namely the distance between the running surfaces of the rollers 31 along a horizontal line passing through the vertical axes of rotation of the two rollers 31, is substantially equal to or slightly greater than the width of the guide 20, so as to ensure precise guidance of the work equipment E along the guides 20.
- Each roller 31 is rotatably mounted on the frame 30, in particular freely rotatable, by means of a rotation shaft with a vertical axis secured to the frame 30.
- Each roller 31 has an outer rolling surface 32 that is substantially smooth.
- Such a guide frame 30 with rollers 31 will be sized to be able to be fixed to the chassis C of the work equipment E intended to move along the wagons W.
- the frame 30 can thus be fixed by any suitable fixing means, such as for example by welding, screwing or clamping, to the frame C of the work equipment E.
- the frame 30 is arranged in the center of the frame C, between the mobility means D, here the tracks, of said work equipment E and without risk of contact with these means of mobility D.
- the pairs of rollers 31 are arranged below the frame 30.
- the frame 30 is adaptable to an existing work equipment E by simple modifications of the existing work equipment E.
- the work equipment E equipped with the second guide means 3 is placed on the floor P of a wagon W, with the guide 20 of the wagon W extending between the pairs of rollers 31 and the means of mobility D of the work equipment E in contact with the tracks on either side of the guide 20.
- the rollers 31 of each pair are in rolling contact with the second vertical sides 22 of the guide, and are therefore rotated around their shaft as the work equipment E advances along the longitudinal guide 20.
- the work equipment E cannot follow a trajectory other than that of the guide 20.
- part of the mobility means D of the work equipment E goes all of first leave the floor P (here, the two support surfaces 24a) of the first wagon W and then be cantilevered vis-à-vis the latter, the length of this cantilever increasing at progressively until the means of mobility D reach the floor P (here, the two support surfaces 24a) of the second wagon W.
- the minimum lift length of the work equipment E being greater than the inter-wagon distance, throughout this phase, in which part of the mobility means D of the work equipment E are no longer resting on a floor P, part of the mobility means D of the work equipment work E which rests on the floor P of the first wagon W provides sufficient support to prevent the work equipment E from tipping downwards, between the two wagons W.
- the inter-wagon distance will be defined taking into account the curves that the R train will be likely to follow, as illustrated in the Figures 2 to 5 .
