Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a film bag arrangement with a bag body having at least two front walls made of film and with a band arranged on the bag body, which extends only over part of a height of the front walls determined between a lower edge and an upper edge of the front walls, wherein the front walls have side edges running between the upper edge and the lower edge, provided with longitudinal seams and lying opposite one another, and wherein the bag body has a constriction between the upper edge and the lower edge of the front walls.
  • the band is thus also arranged at a distance from the upper and lower edges of the front walls.
  • the present invention also relates to a method for forming such a film bag arrangement.
  • the film bag arrangement with the bag body on the one hand and the banderol on the other hand comprises at least two elements which can be manufactured and disposed of independently of one another.
  • the bag body is closed when filled and thus forms a film package.
  • the film bag arrangement according to the invention is particularly suitable for liquid, including pasty or generally pourable filling goods, whereby the bag body is curved outwards when filled and thus receives a certain strength and stability.
  • the bag body can also be provided with a base, a separately attached or punched carrying handles, pourers, resealable closures or the like.
  • the banderol is otherwise arranged loosely or at least largely loosely on the bag body.
  • the EP3 168 169 B1 Like the present invention, it is concerned with recycling the materials as simply as possible, for which purpose the bag body and the band can each be made of a single type and can also be disposed of separately. It can also be provided that the bag body is completely unprinted. Depending on the polymer material used, the bag body is therefore clear, cloudy, opaque or colored in one color, including white or black. It should be noted that printing inks can represent undesirable foreign substances, especially when recycling polymers. Typical dyes can be physiologically problematic in plastics and can also impair the mechanical and optical properties of a recyclate formed.
  • a film bag arrangement that is suitable for recycling should also have a high-quality appearance and an attractive graphic design.
  • user information such as contents, instructions for use, manufacturer information or the like should also be provided.
  • a band that is closed on the circumference and otherwise loose can be placed around a concave shape of the bag body.
  • the band can be shrunk on.
  • a band with a uniform ring shape, ie essentially straight edges, does not fit evenly on the bag body, which impairs the appearance. With a shrunk band, manual separation can be difficult even if the bag body is empty.
  • a bag body is provided with a banderol. Even if the bag body is raised by the liquid contents, the ring-shaped banderol can be accidentally or deliberately pulled off the filled bag body, so that the information required by a user is no longer available.
  • EP 3 594 144 A1 deals with improved recycling, whereby after removing a printed section of material, a An unprinted and preferably single-variety bag body remains. To do this, a user must deliberately tear off the material section, whereby the production of the very high-quality film bag arrangement also involves a certain amount of effort.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a film packaging bag arrangement which is constructed simply and inexpensively, has an attractive design and can be handled particularly easily by a user for recycling.
  • the invention provides that the constriction is formed by an upper and a lower offset of the side edges, wherein the distance between the upper and the lower offset corresponds at least to a height of the banderol.
  • a contact surface for the band is defined, whereby a form-fitting reception of the band, which is adjusted in size, can be achieved there.
  • the bag is drawn inwards, so to speak, whereby the side edges between the upper offset and the lower offset run straight according to a preferred embodiment of the invention and thus also form a contact surface for the band which is straight in plan view.
  • a substantial cylindrical section is formed between the upper offset and the lower offset which holds the band.
  • the front walls made of the inherently flexible film are curved outwards. Particularly when liquid has been absorbed and the bag body is completely or almost completely filled, a form fit is ensured if the banderol is of a suitable size.
  • the front walls can also be deformed into the bag body so that the band can then be easily removed. This applies in particular if the band is only or mainly held to the bag body by a positive fit according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.
  • the band can be easily fixed to the bag body, for example using hot melt adhesive or another adhesive, for manufacturing reasons. If such a preferably only light and only point-based connection does not come loose beforehand, it can also be easily separated by a user within the scope of the invention.
  • the banderole In the case of a completely emptied bag body and also in the case of a partially emptied bag body, the banderole will usually also separate from the Lift off the bag body. It is therefore obvious to a user that the two components can and should be separated very easily.
  • the band practically falls off by itself, so that a user must then grasp and handle both parts separately and is thus guided to proper, separate disposal that enables easy recycling.
  • the band does not have to be laboriously torn open under any circumstances.
  • the edges between the upper offset and the lower offset run straight or essentially straight according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.
  • the side edges can run straight at least in a partial area above the upper offset and in a partial area below the lower offset. This can of course also lead to roundings, bevels or the like towards the corners of the bag body.
  • the upper offset and the lower offset - unlike in the case of a generally concave shape known from the prior art - should be spatially limited in order to provide a clearly defined receiving area for the banderole and a smooth installation. Nevertheless, with regard to the handling of the bag body as Also for the sake of mechanical strength, sharp right-angled developments, sharp corners or the like should be avoided.
  • the longitudinal seams in the area of the upper offset and the lower offset can run diagonally over a short length, in particular at an angle of between 30° and 60° in relation to the adjacent straight sections.
  • the upper offset and the lower offset each extend over an offset height of between 2 mm and 20 mm, in particular between 4 mm and 15 mm.
  • the offset height is to be determined along the height of the front walls.
  • the upper offset and the lower offset each extend along a transverse direction over an offset width of between 2 mm and 20 mm, in particular between 4 mm and 15 mm.
  • the offset width thus indicates how far the side edges between the upper offset and the lower offset are pulled inwards towards the bag body. If the offset width is too small, the banderol can still be accidentally or deliberately pulled off the filled bag body, which is generally not desired. If the offset width is too large, it can become more difficult to remove the banderol from the bag body after it has been completely or partially emptied, and the overall filling volume of the bag body is also reduced.
  • the specified offset width is also appropriate in view of the usual tolerances of the band. It goes without saying that the circumferential length of the usually precisely cylindrical band is matched to the circumferential length of the bag body between the upper offset and the lower offset when filled, or corresponds to this value.
  • the banderol is undersized, in particular slightly undersized, a clamping fixation can be achieved under all circumstances when the bag body is filled.
  • a suitable offset width can be used to prevent the banderol from being lost.
  • the banderol it is then possible for the banderol to be twisted relative to the bag body, which can be tolerated in many cases. If twisting is to be avoided, it is possible to fix it easily and detachably using adhesive or the like - as already described.
  • the band is intended to enable a print or a general graphic design independent of the bag body itself.
  • the band can also have, for example, embossing, cut-outs or the like in addition to or as an alternative to a print, which can be applied either in certain areas or over the entire surface. It is often expedient to design the band in an appealing way for a user and also to provide it with relevant user information such as manufacturer information, trademarks, product names, consumption information, contents information or the like.
  • the banderole can also contribute to a certain stabilization of the bag body. This stabilization is particularly ensured when the bag body is completely or at least largely filled with a liquid, a pasty material or a pourable material and the front walls bulge outwards. Particularly when the bag is full, the body of the bag can be subjected to particularly high loads.
  • the banderol can, for example, help to prevent the bag body from bursting or to do so later when subjected to loads.
  • the band extends over 10% to 90%, preferably between 20% and 70%, particularly preferably between 30% and 60% of the height of the front walls.
  • the absolute height of the banderol then naturally also depends on the dimensions of the bag body and can, for example, be in a range between 40 mm and 300 mm.
  • the distance between the upper offset and the lower offset corresponds at least to the height of the band. This ensures that the band can lie evenly and largely flat on the filled bag body between the upper offset and the lower offset. These properties are already achieved if the distance between the upper and lower offset corresponds exactly to the height of the band.
  • the distance between the upper and lower offset can also be, for example, 1 mm to 40 mm, in particular 1 mm to 15 mm larger, in order to compensate for certain manufacturing variations. Of course, an even greater excess in terms of height is also possible, but then the band can also be moved accordingly along the height if it is not attached to the bag body by a detachable fixation.
  • the bag body and the band should be easily able to be handled and disposed of separately by a user after use of the film bag arrangement, in particular to enable improved recycling. It is understood that this measure is particularly useful and intended when the bag body on the one hand and the band on the other hand are made of different materials and/or are prepared differently.
  • the front walls are made of film.
  • the film is flexible and deformable - unlike, for example, in thermoformed packaging - so that the band can be easily removed from the bag body after it has been emptied or partially opened.
  • the thickness of the film is typically in a range between 30 ⁇ m and 250 ⁇ m, in particular between 50 ⁇ m and 150 ⁇ m.
  • the bag body can be 90%, 95% or completely unprinted in relation to its surface. It must be taken into account that printing on plastic film is sometimes associated with a certain amount of process engineering effort and also requires specially adhesive printing inks that usually cannot be separated from the plastic itself, or can only be separated with great effort, even in a recycling process. Corresponding dyes therefore often represent a chemically undesirable foreign substance in a recycling process. This applies in particular to recyclates that are intended to meet high optical requirements and/or are intended to be physiologically safe as food or beverage packaging.
  • a particularly high-quality recycling is also possible if the front walls and preferably the entire bag body are made of a single polymer, in particular a polyolefin.
  • single-variety packaging is understood to mean in particular when the front walls and in particular the entire bag body are made of plastic from a polymer class such as polyethylene or polypropylene.
  • the film of the front walls can be multi-layered, whereby the bag body can also have other components such as a separate film section as a bottom fold and/or functional elements such as a pourer or resealable closures. These are then also expediently made of single-variety packaging with the front walls.
  • different layers of the front walls and/or other components are made of polyethylene or polypropylene
  • these materials can also be present in different densities, such as ULDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, MDPE, LLMDPE and HDPE.
  • the different density classes can also be collected and recycled together, although such a mixture naturally has material properties that differ from the individual different starting plastics.
  • the bag body can also be made from a single material in a narrower sense, with materials from a relatively narrow density range being provided.
  • HDPE high-density polyethylene
  • LDPE low-density polyethylene
  • the properties of the plastic film can be influenced not only by the selection of raw materials and, if necessary, a multi-layer structure, but also by the production, modification and processing of the plastic film.
  • the plastic film can be monoaxially or biaxially oriented, which can also lead to improved mechanical properties and/or other sealing properties.
  • the plastic film of the bag body is designed as a monofilm, it can be made from a single polymer type or a blend.
  • the plastic film for the front walls is a multilayer film, whereby the mechanical properties, desired barrier properties and heat sealing properties can be further influenced.
  • the inner layer forms an inseparable bond with itself when heat-sealed. This is particularly useful when, with regard to a drop test on the longitudinal sealing seams of the bag body, an undesirable occurrence and thus destruction of the bag body is to be prevented.
  • the front walls and therefore preferably the entire bag body are unprinted.
  • the front walls and in particular the entire bag body can be clear, cloudy, opaque or even single-colored.
  • color pigments such as titanium dioxide that are embedded in the polymer matrix from the outset are generally less of a concern than white pigments.
  • no additional solvents or other additives are required when introducing the corresponding pigments.
  • the band can also be made of plastic, whereby the band can then be disposed of separately as a printed element and possibly processed into a lower-quality recyclate.
  • a film is intended as a band, it should be as thin as possible, for example with a thickness of between 10 ⁇ m and 60 ⁇ m.
  • the film for use as a band preferably has a high rigidity, for which appropriately rigid plastic materials and/or an orientation to increase the rigidity can be provided. Simple polyolefins such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene can also be considered, especially for an oriented film.
  • PE polyethylene
  • polypropylene can also be considered, especially for an oriented film.
  • the band is made of cardboard or paper, whereby the band can then be fed into a conventional paper recycling process.
  • recycling paper it is usual for the products to be printed, so that no special measures are necessary for the banderol to be recycled.
  • the banderol can be printed very well if it is made of cardboard or paper as the printing medium. Unlike with films, physiologically harmless or less problematic printing inks can also be used.
  • a band made of cardboard or paper can also help to stiffen the bag body in the manner of a strap. If a relatively stiff cardboard is used as a band, this effect is further enhanced. With a band made of cardboard, even after the band has been removed from the bag body, one side edge of the flattened band can be used to spread out a liquid or plastic filling material when the bag body is completely or almost completely emptied, which of course further improves the recyclability of the plastic.
  • the banderol made of cardboard or paper, typically has a basis weight between 30 g/m 2 (grams per square meter) and 300 g/m 2 .
  • the invention also relates to a method for forming the previously described film bag arrangement, wherein a bag body with two front walls and two longitudinal seams connecting the front walls is formed from a bag film, before or after the formation of the bag body, an outer edge of the front walls is removed in a central region of the longitudinal seams in order to form an upper attachment and a lower offset on the longitudinal edges of the bag body produced, the bag body produced with a particularly liquid or pasty filling material is filled and sealed and a circumferentially closed banderole is placed between the upper offset and the lower offset.
  • the band can be arranged before filling.
  • the front walls are formed by folding or feeding two film strips lying flat on top of each other, with the longitudinal seams then also preferably being formed by heat sealing.
  • a separate film section can also be fed in to form a standing base, which is also connected to the front walls by seams, in particular heat sealing seams.
  • the film section can be made of the same material as the front walls.
  • the upper offset and the lower offset can either be previously formed on the front walls or preferably created by cutting or punching during the forming process.
  • the formation of the longitudinal seams by heat sealing and the removal of parts of the front walls to form the upper offset and the lower offset can be created sequentially or simultaneously with combined cutting and sealing jaws.
  • a strip particularly made of cardboard or paper
  • a strip can be placed in the area between the upper attachment and the lower offset, folded around the bag body and then closed, for example, with adhesive or mechanically by means of slits or the like.
