Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • As expressed in the title of the present specification, the invention relates to a luminescent skirt for sun protection elements providing the intended function thereof with advantages and features that are described in detail below and constitute a novelty in the current state of the art.
  • More specifically, the object of the invention focuses on an element made of flexible plastic and textile material formed for being included in different sun protection elements (such as for example: sunshades, pergolas, marquee, awnings, curtains, window lattices with textile covering, prestressed tarpaulin structures, porticos with a textile roof, or any textile element which is used as a sun protection element).
  • The purpose of the luminescent skirt is to project any type of silk screen print, drawing, logotype, anagrams, trade names, brand names, firm names, or company names (referred to hereinafter as geometric forms), in the form of light through a textile material and a transparent sheet of plastic, with both materials being flexible.
  • FIELD OF APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION
  • The field of application of the present invention is comprised within the sector of the industry dedicated to the manufacture and installation of sun protection elements.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • As is known, one way for many commercial establishments, companies, or firms to distinguish their business is through rigid light panels manufactured with metals or plastic materials. These panels act to attract customers or as a decorative element or identification signs and include the aforementioned geometric forms. The present invention seeks to combine the functionality of light panels with textile elements of sun protection products. Accordingly, the present invention seeks to use a beam of light which is projected through the textile material of said sun protection products, and to include in the textile material an identifier in the form of lighting through a light panel. The luminescent skirt allows the passage of light from the light panel, but at the same prevents the passage of solar radiation to the inside thereof. The invention therefore acts as a sun protection element, but at the same time as an indicating, differentiating, decorative, and identifying element for establishments, premises, brands, or firms.
  • Therefore, the objective of the present invention is to provide the market with a new product for identifying and differentiating a brand, a premises name, logotypes, by way of light through a textile material and a transparent sheet of plastic.
  • On the other hand, and as a reference to the current state of the art, it should be noted that there are some documents are known that describe similar objects, which, however, suppose different solutions, referring to rigid frames or drawers without any of them including an opaque layer to ensure that light only passes through the letters or cutouts.
  • Specifically, patent FR2752372A1 is considered the document closest to the object of the present invention according to claim 1, since said document also discloses: a luminescent skirt for a sun protection element, the shape and dimensions of said luminescent skirt fit and adapt to the shape and dimensions of the sun protection element in which it is installed, and to which it is secured along the length thereof; where the luminescent skirt comprises:
    • a piece of flexible textile material of any color in the shape of a rectangular V-shaped pouch, including geometric shapes cut into a face to project a beam of light across it by means of lighting means, and
    • a second piece, included in said V-shaped piece that is solidly and mechanically adhered to the piece on the inside thereof,
these being the features that can be taken as belonging to the state of the prior art of said claim 1 of the present invention. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The luminescent skirt for sun protection elements proposed by the invention is therefore configured as a novelty in its field of application, given that the objectives indicated above are specifically and satisfactorily achieved in view of its implementation, with the characterizing details making it possible and distinguishing same being suitably described in the final claims accompanying the present description.
  • Specifically, as indicated above, the invention proposes a textile element in the form of a rectangular-shaped pouch including the geometric forms that are cut with laser technology or mechanical blade with numerical control, for the purpose of clearly cutting the geometry through which the beam of light is to be projected. To ensure that the light is only projected through the cut surface of the textile, an opaque sheet of textile material is included on the inside, ensuring the opacity of the textile material, and a transparent or translucent sheet of flexible plastic is also included. This waterproof and transparent or translucent sheet of flexible plastic assures, on one hand, the waterproofing of the textile element and protects the inner lighting system, while at the same time allowing the passage of light therethrough. The function of the sheet of plastic is also to act as a support for the complex silk screen prints or for the enclosed inner areas of the letters, which are directly adhered, welded, or sewn to the sheet of plastic.
  • The pouch formed by the textile element is used as a support for a plurality of light panels connected through an electric cable to the structure where the luminescent skirt will be arranged. The pouch formed by the textile can be laterally or vertically closed through a zipper, Velcro, buttonholes, or directly sewn to the textile of the product where the invention will be arranged.
  • In order to obtain a constant thickness within the textile pouch formed by the invention, an opaque flexible plastic material with a thickness similar or equal to that of the light panel is placed.
  • Lastly, the geometric forms can be cut in the front part of the skirt, in the rear part, or in both.
  • The described luminescent skirt for sun protection elements which acts as a decorative element or an identifying element therefore represents an innovation in structural and constructive features that have been unknown up until now, and these reasons, combined with its practical usefulness, provide it with sufficient grounds to obtain the exclusive privilege that is sought.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • To complement the description that is being made and for the purpose of helping to better understand the features of the invention, a set of drawings is attached to the present specification as an integral part thereof in which the following is depicted in a non-limiting, illustrative manner:
    • Figure 1 shows an exploded perspective view of an example of the luminescent skirt object of the invention, depicting its configuration, the parts, the elements it comprises, and where the different layers of materials used for manufacturing same can be seen.
    • Figure 2 shows a perspective view of a sun protection element (a parasol) with the application of the invention.
    • Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the inner part of a sun protection element (a parasol) with an opening for introducing a light panel.
    • Figure 4 shows a perspective view of the upper part of a sun protection element (an awning) with an opening on the side of the light skirt.
    • Figure 5 shows a detailed view of Figure 4 in which the method of holding with the sun protection element can be seen in greater detail.
    PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
  • In view of the mentioned figures and according to the numbering used, there can be seen therein a non-limiting example of the proposed luminescent skirt for sun protection elements, which comprises the parts and elements indicated and described in detail below.
  • Therefore, as can be seen in said figures, the luminescent skirt is configured from a piece (1) of flexible textile material and of any color, the trough shape (V shape) and dimensions of which fit and adapt to the shape and dimensions of the sun protection element (2) to be installed and to which it is secured along the length thereof.
  • The element (1) comprises a second layer (3) of opaque material which is adhered solidly and mechanically (by heat or welding) to the element (1). Both elements (1) and (3) include the geometric forms (4) on one or both faces that are cut with laser technology or mechanical blade, for the purpose of projecting the beam of light therethrough. The element (1) also includes a third adhered layer (5) of transparent or translucent material, preferably flexible plastic, which allows projecting the beam of light therethrough and acts as a support for the cut geometries (4) of elements (1) and (2). Lastly, a light panel (6) is situated between the different layers (1), (3), and (5).
  • The layers (1) and (3) are joined at the ends through a seam, a Velcro strip, or a zipper; preferably they can be welded or adhered to one another. To enable the placement and removal of the element (6) in the event of repairs or maintenance, there are included an opening (7) at the rear part of the light skirt or at its ends and a filling material (8) cut in the shape of rectangles.
  • All the elements (1), (3), (5), (6), and (8) form the luminescent skirt which is secured through element (1) to the body of the element (2), preferably in a mechanical manner by means of the inclusion of adhesive Velcro strips, zippers, or directly by means of sewing or welding. Said element (1) can also be secured to the inside of a profile made of a metallic, plastic, or wood material (9), which can in turn be secured to the element (2). In this case, there is made in the element (1) a flange integrating therein a plastic or rubber sheath (10) having a circular geometry, which serves as a securing element through a rail in the element (9).
