- a device having the features of the preamble of claim 1 is known from the document DE 10 2016 004 500 A1 previously known.
- the pamphlet EP 2 420 157 A1 discloses a method for manufacturing anchorless toothbrushes with bristles, in which a bristle bundle with cylindrical bristles and/or pointed bristles is introduced into a receiving recess of a tool of a bristle-covering machine and, by means of a profile pin guided in the receiving recess, onto the end of the bristles of the bristle bundle facing the pin Alignment is applied.
- the bristles of the bristle bundle are aligned by means of an end face of the profile pin and thereby receive the topography that is complementary to the topography of the end face of the profile pin.
- the profile pin has a non-continuous surface on the end face acting on the bristles, which forms several levels.
- Brushes e.g. toothbrushes
- the brushes offered stand out from each other significantly due to their design.
- the design can also affect technical aspects of the brushes, which can positively influence the properties of the brushes. Consequently, it is not least the design of the brushes that represents a key purchase criterion from the consumer's point of view.
- brush manufacturers are increasingly striving to improve the brushes they offer by means of complex designs individualize to make the brushes more attractive to consumers.
- the object of the invention is therefore to expand the previously available design options for customizing brushes.
- a device for forming bundles of bristles which has the means and features of the independent claim directed to such a device.
- a device for shaping bristle bundles of a bristle facing of a brush which comprises at least two bristle bundles, the device having at least one bundle pocket with at least two bundle receptacles formed therein and a heating device with which the bristle bundles introduced into the bundle receptacles can be heated are.
- the bundle receptacles are bundle-forming and designed to reshape bundles of bristles introduced into the bundle receptacles compared to their shape before insertion into the bundle receptacles under the action of heat emitted by the heating device in order to achieve the shape specified by the bundle receptacles to fix bristle bundles.
- the bundle pocket has at least two bundle receptacles, which open into a common bundle receptacle section.
- the bundle pocket can have at least one bundle receptacle which is designed to receive at least two bristle bundles and includes a common bundle receptacle section for at least two bristle bundles. In this way it is possible to create a brush with a set of bristles which has at least two bundles of bristles which are combined in a common bundle section.
- the heating device can be set up to heat the at least one bundle pocket.
- the bundle pocket is provided with an insertion opening for a bundle of bristles and with at least one lateral opening. At least one bundle of bristles can be inserted into the bundle pocket through the insertion opening of the bundle pocket.
- a displacement means of the device for profiling a bundle of bristles introduced into the bundle pocket can be introduced into the bundle pocket through the lateral opening of the bundle pocket.
- the device is set up by means of the bundle pocket to reshape a bristle bundle inserted into the bundle pocket, starting from an undeformed initial shape, into a desired target shape under the action of heat, which is emitted from the heating device to the bundle pocket and thus also to the bristle bundle located therein .
- a device for shaping bundles of bristles which allows individualization of bundles of bristles and thus ultimately the design options for individualizing brushes, which are equipped with the formed bundles of bristles, expanded.
- the device according to the invention also offers the possibility of improving the effectiveness of bristle bundles by impressing them with a technically effective shape. Depending on the application, it is conceivable to bring the bundles of bristles into a wide variety of shapes.
- bristle bundles whose bristle filaments follow a helix or also bristle bundles which have a first cross-sectional shape at one end and a second cross-sectional shape at their second end, while the cross-section of the bristle bundle changes in the course of the first end fluently changed towards the second end.
- the shape specified by the bundle pocket is impressed on the bundle of bristles introduced into the bundle pocket of the device.
- the as yet undeformed bundle of bristles can have, for example, a cylindrical or slightly conical initial shape. If the bundle pocket, in particular a receptacle of the bundle pocket into which the bristle bundle is inserted, has a shape that deviates from this initial shape, the bristle bundle adapts its shape or shape when it is inserted into the bundle pocket to the shape specified by the bundle pocket.
- the heat of the heating device emitted via the bundle pocket to the at least one bundle of bristles located therein can be fixed in the form specified by the bundle pocket, which the bundle of bristles located in the bundle pocket has assumed.
- the heat given off by the heating device causes a kind of stress-relief annealing of the bristle bundle held deformed in the bundle pocket.

Description
The invention relates to a device for forming bundles of bristles and a brush manufacturing machine with such a device.
Brushes, e.g. toothbrushes, are offered in a large variety for a wide variety of applications. The brushes offered stand out from each other significantly due to their design. The design can also affect technical aspects of the brushes, which can positively influence the properties of the brushes. Consequently, it is not least the design of the brushes that represents a key purchase criterion from the consumer's point of view.
Accordingly, brush manufacturers are increasingly striving to improve the brushes they offer by means of complex designs individualize to make the brushes more attractive to consumers. Here, it has become common, for example, to provide brushes with bristles made of differently colored bristle filaments or to design the brush handles and brush heads of the brushes in different shapes and colors. Different materials are also combined with each other to customize the brushes.
Thus, although there are various ways of designing brushes, there is still a need for ways to personalize brushes.
The object of the invention is therefore to expand the previously available design options for customizing brushes.
To solve this problem, a device for forming bundles of bristles is proposed which has the means and features of the independent claim directed to such a device.
In order to achieve the object, a device for shaping bristle bundles of a bristle facing of a brush, which comprises at least two bristle bundles, is proposed, the device having at least one bundle pocket with at least two bundle receptacles formed therein and a heating device with which the bristle bundles introduced into the bundle receptacles can be heated are. The bundle receptacles are bundle-forming and designed to reshape bundles of bristles introduced into the bundle receptacles compared to their shape before insertion into the bundle receptacles under the action of heat emitted by the heating device in order to achieve the shape specified by the bundle receptacles to fix bristle bundles. According to the invention, the bundle pocket has at least two bundle receptacles, which open into a common bundle receptacle section. In addition or as an alternative to this, the bundle pocket can have at least one bundle receptacle which is designed to receive at least two bristle bundles and includes a common bundle receptacle section for at least two bristle bundles. In this way it is possible to create a brush with a set of bristles which has at least two bundles of bristles which are combined in a common bundle section.
The heating device can be set up to heat the at least one bundle pocket. In one embodiment, the bundle pocket is provided with an insertion opening for a bundle of bristles and with at least one lateral opening. At least one bundle of bristles can be inserted into the bundle pocket through the insertion opening of the bundle pocket. A displacement means of the device for profiling a bundle of bristles introduced into the bundle pocket can be introduced into the bundle pocket through the lateral opening of the bundle pocket.
The device is set up by means of the bundle pocket to reshape a bristle bundle inserted into the bundle pocket, starting from an undeformed initial shape, into a desired target shape under the action of heat, which is emitted from the heating device to the bundle pocket and thus also to the bristle bundle located therein .
In this way, a device for shaping bundles of bristles is created which allows individualization of bundles of bristles and thus ultimately the design options for individualizing brushes, which are equipped with the formed bundles of bristles, expanded. In addition, the device according to the invention also offers the possibility of improving the effectiveness of bristle bundles by impressing them with a technically effective shape. Depending on the application, it is conceivable to bring the bundles of bristles into a wide variety of shapes. So it is conceivable, for example, particularly pointed bristle bundles, bristle bundles whose bristle filaments follow a helix or also bristle bundles which have a first cross-sectional shape at one end and a second cross-sectional shape at their second end, while the cross-section of the bristle bundle changes in the course of the first end fluently changed towards the second end.
The shape specified by the bundle pocket is impressed on the bundle of bristles introduced into the bundle pocket of the device. Thus, before it is introduced into the bundle pocket, the as yet undeformed bundle of bristles can have, for example, a cylindrical or slightly conical initial shape. If the bundle pocket, in particular a receptacle of the bundle pocket into which the bristle bundle is inserted, has a shape that deviates from this initial shape, the bristle bundle adapts its shape or shape when it is inserted into the bundle pocket to the shape specified by the bundle pocket.
The heat of the heating device emitted via the bundle pocket to the at least one bundle of bristles located therein can be fixed in the form specified by the bundle pocket, which the bundle of bristles located in the bundle pocket has assumed. The heat given off by the heating device causes a kind of stress-relief annealing of the bristle bundle held deformed in the bundle pocket. Thus, the bristle filaments of the bristle bundle held deformed by and/or in the bundle pocket can be deformed under the effect of heat change their structure accordingly, which ultimately allows the changed shape of the bristle bundle to be fixed.
The displacement means can be introduced into the bundle pocket via the side opening of the bundle pocket and thereby between bristle filaments of the at least one bristle bundle located in the bundle pocket. Bristle filaments of the bristle bundle are laterally displaced by the displacement means. With the aid of the displacement means, the bundle of bristles located in the bundle pocket can be provided with a recess formed within the bundle of bristles. The heat emitted by the heating device has the effect that the recess created by the displacement means within the bundle of bristles is retained after the bundle of bristles has been removed from the bundle pocket. It can be advantageous here to leave the displacement means in its displacement position within the bundle pocket, while the bundle pocket and the bundle of bristles located therein are heated by the heating device. The displacement means can be and/or can be inserted into the bundle pocket transversely or at right angles to a direction of insertion of a bristle bundle.
With the help of the device for forming bundles of bristles, bundles of bristles with a particularly complex design can be produced in this way, which enable a high degree of individualization of brushes equipped with them.
The bundle pocket can have two opposing side openings. The two openings can be arranged on the bundle pocket in such a way that a receiving space of the bundle pocket, into which the at least one bundle of bristles can be inserted, lies between the two openings. The displacement means of the device can pass through the receiving space of the bundle pocket through one opening are plugged in and emerge from this through the other breakout of the bundle pocket. This ensures that the displacement means projects completely through the bundle pocket, in particular its receiving space, and thereby creates the desired recess within the bristle bundle by displacing the bristle filaments of a bristle bundle located in the bundle pocket.
The at least one break in the bundle pocket can be so large that it creates a recess in the bristle bundle, which is formed on the one hand by a first closed bundle section that lies between the recess and a free end of the bristle bundle, and on the other hand by a second closed bundle section that lies between of the recess and an end of the bristle bundle on the bristle carrier side.
The closed bundle section, which is arranged adjacent to the free end of the bristle bundle, can, like the closed bundle section, which is arranged adjacent to the end of the bristle bundle on the bristle carrier side, can have a length, for example, which is 5% of the total length of the bristle bundle, measured in the longitudinal direction of the bristle filaments of the bristle bundle.
Transferred to the bundle pocket, this can mean that a first closed or eruption-free section of the bundle pocket, which is arranged between the opening and the insertion opening of the bundle pocket, and a second closed or eruption-free section of the bundle pocket, which is located between the opening and one of the insertion opening of the bundle pocket is arranged opposite end of the bundle pocket, a length of at least 5% of a total length of the bundle pocket.
In one embodiment of the device, the at least one opening in the bundle pocket can have a length, measured between the insertion opening of the bundle pocket and an end of the bundle pocket located opposite the insertion opening of the bundle pocket, which is between 10% and 90% or 95%, in particular between 50% and 90% % of the total bundle pocket length measured in the same direction.
In order to be able to close the at least one opening in the bundle pocket while a bundle of bristles is being inserted into the bundle pocket, it can be advantageous if the device has at least one closing means. The closure means of the device can be set up to at least temporarily close the at least one lateral opening of the at least one bundle pocket. The closure means can effectively prevent bristle filaments of a bristle bundle introduced into the bundle pocket from being accidentally pushed out or getting out of the opening in the bundle pocket.
As already explained above, the object is achieved by a device for forming bundles of bristles of a bristle trimming of a brush, which has the means and features of the independent claim for protection directed to such a device. In order to achieve the object, a device for forming bundles of bristles of a bristle covering of a brush, which comprises at least two bundles of bristles, is proposed in particular, which has at least one bundle pocket with at least two bundle receptacles formed therein and a heating device. Bristle bundles introduced into the bundle receptacles can be heated with the heating device. The bundle recordings are bundle-forming and set up to compared to bristle bundles introduced into the bundle recordings their shape before being inserted into the bundle receptacles under the action of heat emitted by the heating device in order to fix the shape of the bristle bundles introduced into the bundle receptacles that is predetermined by the bundle receptacles.
The bundle holes can be combined in at least one group, with a group comprising a number of bundle receptacles, which corresponds to a number of bristle bundles of a bristle facing whose bristle bundles are to be shaped with the device. In this way, all the bristle bundles of the bristle facing of a brush can be reshaped in one work step with the device for individualizing the brush.
For this purpose, the bundle receptacles are expediently arranged within a group in the same way as the bristle bundles in the bristle facing of the brush to be processed.
At least one bundle receptacle of the bundle pocket of the device can have at least two cross-sections which are spaced apart axially with respect to a longitudinal axis of the bundle receptacles and differ from one another in terms of shape and/or size. In this way, a device is created that allows a diverse individualization of brushes.
In one embodiment of the device described above, a bundle receptacle of the bundle pocket has an insertion channel, which opens into at least two channels of the bundle receptacles downstream of the insertion channel. With such a device bundles of bristles can be formed, which spread apart as they progress. The downstream channels of the bundle receptacles can have longitudinal axes which are at a defined angle to one another, in particular at an acute angle angles are aligned. For example, a bundle of bristles can be formed that has a Y-shape.
In one embodiment of the device described above, at least one bundle receptacle of the bundle pocket has a bundle receptacle section that is defined by lateral surfaces of two cones or truncated cones. In this case, the longitudinal center axes of the cones or truncated cones can be congruent. The cones or truncated cones can have different radii. A bristle bundle with a cup-shaped bundle section can be produced with such a device.
In one embodiment of the device described above, at least one bundle receptacle of the bundle pocket can fan out or spread out, in particular starting from a cross section of the bundle receptacles, preferably cup-shaped and/or conical.
In order to produce bundles of bristles which are combined with one another in a bundle section, the bundle pocket of the device according to the invention has at least two bundle receptacles which open into a common bundle receptacle section.
To produce bristle bundles that are combined in a bundle section, the bundle pocket can additionally or alternatively also have at least one bundle receptacle that is designed to receive at least two bristle bundles and that includes a common bundle receptacle section for at least two bristle bundles.
In order to promote the fastest possible reshaping of bristle bundles, the at least one bundle pocket can have at least have a heat exchange element that promotes heat exchange. With the aid of the at least one heat exchange element of the bundle pocket, the bundle pocket can be brought more quickly by the heating device to the temperature required for shaping the bristle bundle. After a bristle bundle has been successfully reshaped, the at least one heat exchange element of the bundle pocket can accelerate cooling of the bundle pocket and a bristle bundle located therein.
For example, a cooling and/or heating fin and/or a cooling and/or heating fin can serve as the heat exchange element.
As an alternative or in addition to the at least one heat exchange element, the bundle pocket can have a surface structure that promotes heat exchange. For example, it is possible to provide the outside of the bundle pocket with a surface roughness Ra of 1.6 µm to 50 µm. The surface roughness allows an outer surface of the bundle pocket to be enlarged, which accelerates heat absorption when the bundle pocket is heated and heat dissipation when the bundle pocket cools.
For a preferably fully automated handling of bristle bundles and/or bundle pockets when using the device, it can have at least one bundle gripper and/or at least one bundle pocket gripper. In one embodiment of the device, both the at least one bundle gripper and the at least one bundle pocket gripper can be movable between an initial position and a processing position.
In order to facilitate the introduction of bristle bundles into the at least one bundle pocket of the device, the at least one bundle pocket gripper and/or the at least one bundle gripper, preferably each, can have a vibrator be assigned. The bundle pocket and/or a bundle of bristles held with the bundle gripper can be made to vibrate with the aid of the at least one vibrator. The vibrations allow the bristle filaments of the at least one bristle bundle to slide more easily into the bundle pocket.
The device can have a guide for a bundle gripper, for example for the already mentioned bundle gripper, a guide for the at least one displacement means and/or a guide for the at least one already mentioned closing means of the device.
In order to be able to heat the bund pocket for shaping bristle bundles evenly and/or quickly, the at least one bund pocket can have a wall with a constant and preferably as thin a wall thickness as possible. An inner contour of the bundle pocket can be matched to an outer contour of the bundle pocket. An outer contour of the bundle pocket can be the same as an inner contour of the bundle pocket.
The insertion of bristle bundles into the bundle pocket is made easier if the insertion opening of the at least one bundle pocket is provided with an insertion funnel. The bundle pocket can also form or be a monolithic unit, preferably one that is homogeneous in terms of material. A particularly high level of design freedom with regard to the shape of the bundle pocket can be achieved if the bundle pocket is 3D printed. In this way, the bundle pockets can have particularly complex internal structures. Bundle pockets are conceivable, for example, which have a helical inner structure for accommodating a bundle of bristles and which, due to their shape, can be shaped therein arranged bundles of bristles impress a helical target shape.
Depending on the application, it can be advantageous to subsequently process bristle bundles that have been formed using the bundle pocket. For this purpose, the at least one bundle pocket of the device can have an outlet opening, which is preferably arranged in or on a side of the bundle pocket opposite the insertion opening of the bundle pocket. Free filament ends of a bristle bundle arranged in the bundle pocket can protrude from this outlet opening and be accessible for post-processing, for example for milling and/or grinding.
It can also be advantageous if the device has at least one processing means for processing a bundle of bristles, in particular a milling cutter and/or a grinder.
In order to accelerate cooling of the bundle pocket and a bundle of bristles located therein, the device can also have a cooling device.
In one embodiment of the device, the heating device extends over an area that covers a circular ring segment with an angular range of between 180° and 270°. A cooling device of the device, for example the one already mentioned above, can extend over an area that covers a circular ring segment with an angular range between 180° and 90°.
In one embodiment of the device, the heating device has a heating plate, preferably which extends over an area which has a circular ring segment covers an angular range between 180° and 270°, for example. A cooling device of the device, for example the one already mentioned above, can have a cooling plate, preferably which extends over an area that covers a circular ring segment with an angular range, for example between 180° and 90°.
This type of heating device and cooling device is particularly suitable for use in a brush manufacturing machine, as will be described in more detail below, and which has a rotary indexing table, by means of which bundle pockets and bristle bundles located therein can be transported between different stations of the brush manufacturing machine.
In one embodiment of the device it is provided that it has a bundle spreading device. The bundle spreading device is set up to spread adjacent bristle bundles in particular before they are inserted into the bundle pocket, in particular into the bundle receptacles. This can simplify the insertion of the bristle bundles into the bundle pocket. By spreading the bundles of bristles, a distance between two adjacent bundles can be increased.
The device can also have a moistening device for moistening and/or steaming the bristle bundles. By moistening and/or steaming the bristle bundles, bristle filaments that make up the bristle bundles can be held together. The bundles of bristles can thus assume a more compact shape, at least temporarily. This favors the insertion of the bristle bundles into the bundle pocket, in particular into the bundle receptacles of the bundle pocket.
The device can have a control unit, for example the one already mentioned above, which is set up to control the heating device in such a way that the bundles of bristles in the bundle pocket are heated according to defined heat progression curves. The heating device and/or the bundle pocket, here in particular the bundle holders, can be set up to heat the bristle bundles by thermal conduction using mechanical contact, by induction and/or convection, preferably by means of a temperature-controlled fluid, and/or by means of thermal radiation.
A cooling device of the device, for example the one already mentioned above, can be set up to cool the bundles of bristles by means of a temperature-controlled fluid, in particular by means of compressed air and/or by means of nitrogen. For this purpose, the cooling device can comprise, for example, a cold air gun, a vortex tube and/or a vortex tube.
The bundle pocket can be produced by eroding and/or by 3D printing and/or by milling and/or from thin layers and/or plates that are subsequently connected to one another.
The bundle holders of the bundle pocket can have a maximum surface roughness of 6.3 µm. This can promote the insertion of the bristle bundles into the bundle receptacles. The bundle receptacles can also be ground, in particular flow-ground, and/or polished in the insertion direction of the bristle bundles. This can also reduce resistance when inserting the bristle bundles and promote targeted insertion of the bristle bundles into the bundle receptacles. Furthermore, it is possible for the bundle receptacles to have a surface coating in order to reduce their surface roughness.
The device can have a suction device with which a negative pressure can be applied to the bundle pocket, in particular to the bundle receptacles. This can also promote the introduction of the bristle bundles into the bundle pocket, in particular into the bundle receptacles. Due to the negative pressure applied, the bundles of bristles can be sucked into the bundle receptacles of the bundle pockets.
The bundle pocket can be perforated, in particular on the side. This can promote heat exchange when the bristle bundles are heated and then cooled via the bundle pocket. Furthermore, the bundle pocket can have at least one flow channel. It is thus possible, for example, to feed a heated and/or a cooled fluid through the bundle pocket for heat input and/or for cooling the bristle bundles.
The device can also have a discharge device, via which fluid heated with the heating device, in particular warm air, can be discharged into the environment. If the device, in particular the heating device, is to be operated in circulating air mode, it can be advantageous if the device, in particular the heating device, has a closed system, in particular a circulating air system, in which fluid heated by the heating device, in particular heated air, can circulate. The use of a closed system, for example an air circulation system, can help to save energy when heating the bundle pocket and the bristle bundles located therein.
In order to monitor heat input into the bundle pocket, the device can have a control unit, for example the previously mentioned control unit and/or a regulating unit.
Furthermore, the device can have at least one temperature sensor with which a temperature of the bundle pocket can be determined. In a preferred embodiment of the device, several temperature sensors are provided, with which the temperature of the bundle pocket can be determined at different points. A more precise temperature distribution on and/or at least indirectly also in the bundle pocket can be determined with several temperature sensors.
If a temperature-controlled fluid is to be used to heat the bristle bundles in the bundle pocket, it can be expedient if the device has at least one temperature sensor on the heating device and/or in or on an inflow channel and/or in or on an outflow channel.
All of the previously mentioned temperature sensors can be used by the control unit and/or the control unit of the device when monitoring the heat input into the bundle pocket.
In one embodiment of the device, a cross-sectional area of a bundle receptacle can be at least 20% larger than a total cross-sectional area of individual bristle filaments that are to be introduced into this bundle receptacle. The bundle receptacle is therefore oversized in relation to the bristle bundles, as a result of which the bristle bundles can be inserted more easily into the bundle receptacle.
In one embodiment of the device, at least part of the heating device is integrated into the bundle pocket of the device. This can promote efficient heating of bristle bundles located in the bundle pocket.
The above object is also achieved by a method for forming bundles of bristles, which is not the subject of Invention is and has the following means and features. In order to achieve the object, a method for forming bundles of bristles of a bristle facing of a brush comprising at least two bundles of bristles is proposed, with at least two bundles of bristles being combined in a common bundle section. The bristle bundles can be combined in particular at their free ends in a common bundle section.
In one embodiment of the method, at least one bundle of bristles can be formed into a desired target shape starting from an undeformed initial shape, with bristle filaments of the bundle of bristles being displaced, preferably laterally, using a displacement means to create a recess in the bundle of bristles. The bundle of bristles is then heated in order to fix the target shape of the bundle of bristles and thus the recess produced in the bundle of bristles. In this way, a bristle bundle can be created that is individualized on the one hand because of its changed shape and on the other hand because of the recess created within the bristle bundle, which means that brushes that are equipped with such a bristle bundle have a special appearance.
In one embodiment of the method, a recess can be produced within the bristle bundle, which is arranged between a first closed bundle section and a second closed bundle section of the bristle bundle. The first closed bundle section of the bristle bundle can adjoin a free end of the bristle bundle. The second closed bundle section of the bristle bundle can adjoin an end of the bristle bundle on the bristle carrier side and/or on the handle side. Furthermore, in one embodiment of the method, a recess can be produced in the bundle of bristles, which has a closed, of Bristle filaments of the bristle bundle defined and / or bordered cross-section and / or is defined and limited by bristle filaments of the bristle bundle.
To carry out the method, the claimed device for forming a bundle of bristles, which is described in detail above and claimed in the claims for protection directed to such a device, can be used.
In one embodiment of the method, it is proposed that at least one of the bristle bundles of the bristle facing of a brush is reshaped in such a way that it has two bundle cross-sections which are axially spaced apart from one another with respect to its longitudinal axis and differ from one another in terms of shape and/or size.
In one embodiment of the method, at least one bundle of bristles can be given a helical, conical, frustoconical or goblet shape.
In one embodiment of the method, at least one bundle of bristles can be spread open by the shaping.
In one embodiment of the method, it is provided that the bristle bundles are introduced into bundle receptacles of a bundle pocket, in particular a bundle pocket of the device according to one of the claims relating to the device, wherein the bristle bundles are preferably spread and/or steamed and/or moistened before being pushed in . As already explained above, the spreading of the bristle bundles before they are pushed into the bundle receptacles can promote their being pushed into the bundle receptacles. The same applies to the steaming and/or moistening of the bunch of bristles. This favors a better cohesion of bristle filaments combined in a bristle bundle. The bundle of bristles can thus be given a more compact shape, at least temporarily, by steaming and/or moistening, which can promote insertion into the bundle receptacles of the bundle pocket.
If the bristle bundles of the bristle facing are deformed step by step and/or in groups, this can reduce the cycle time and/or increase the quality of the deformation. For example, it is possible to first deform the inner bundles and then to deform the outer bundles. Both can be done, for example, with two bundle pockets and/or bundle receptacles used one after the other.
In one embodiment of the method, the bristle bundles can be deformed in such a way that they, in particular together with their bristle filaments, represent a logo and/or image in the bristle facing.
The bundles of bristles can be heated according to defined heat progression curves, which can favor a reshaping of the bundles of bristles and also their fixation.
In one embodiment of the method, the bundles of bristles can be heated by means of a heating device integrated into the bundle pocket. Furthermore, it is possible to heat the bristle bundles by means of thermal conduction, induction and/or convection, preferably by means of a temperature-controlled fluid, and/or by means of thermal radiation. In this context, it can be expedient if the device already explained in detail above has a heating device, at least part of which is integrated into the bundle pocket of the device.
The bundles of bristles can be cooled using a temperature-controlled fluid, in particular using compressed air, using nitrogen and/or using ambient air. A cold air gun, also referred to as a cold gun, a vortex tube and/or a vortex tube can be used to cool the bristle bundles.
In order to be able to insert the bristle bundles more easily into the bundle receptacles, the bundle receptacles of the bundle pocket can be subjected to negative pressure. The bristle bundles can then be sucked into the bundle receptacles of the bundle pocket by means of negative pressure.
The heat input for heating the bundle of bristles can take place via heat-conducting formations, preferably on an outside of the bundle pocket. The previously mentioned at least one heat exchange element of the bundle pocket can be used as heat-conducting formations of the bundle pocket.
In one embodiment of the method, a heated fluid, in particular air, is passed through flow channels of the bundle pocket to heat the bristle bundles located within the bundle pocket. To cool down the bristle bundles located within the bundle pocket, a cooled fluid, in particular air, can be conducted through flow channels of the bundle pocket.
In one embodiment of the method, it is provided that a fluid, for example the previously mentioned fluid, in particular air, for introducing the heat is released into the environment after the bristle bundles have been heated. However, it is also possible to conduct the fluid used for heating the bristle bundles in a closed system, in particular in a circulating air or circulatory system. This can reduce the energy needs of the apparatus used to perform the method.
A heat input for heating the bristle bundles can be monitored by means of a regulating unit or a control unit.
In one embodiment of the method it is provided that a bundle pocket, for example the previously mentioned bundle pocket, which is used for shaping the bristle bundles, is heated to a basic heat above the ambient temperature before the bristle bundles are introduced into the bundle pocket.
The bristle bundles can also be pulled out of a bundle pocket, for example the previously mentioned bundle pocket used to shape the bristle bundles, before they have reached their final cooling temperature. This allows the cycle times to be reduced when carrying out the method.
When carrying out the method, bristle bundles with bristle filaments made of PE, PBT, PA6.10, PA6.12, PA10.10, PA4.10 and/or a mixture and/or a composite of the materials mentioned can be used.
The aforementioned object is also achieved by a brush manufacturing machine which has the means and features of the independent claim directed to such a brush manufacturing machine. In order to achieve the object, a brush manufacturing machine is proposed in particular, which has at least one device for forming bundles of bristles according to one of the claims directed to such a device.
The brush manufacturing machine can have a rotary indexing table for receiving and transporting bristle bundles Have bundle pockets. The rotary indexing table preferably has four arms which are each offset by 90° to one another. The brush manufacturing machine can also have an input station for the input of bundle pockets equipped with bristle bundles, a bundle profiling station, preferably at which the device for shaping bristle bundles is arranged, and/or a bundle melting station, at which the anchoring or fastening heads of the bristle bundles are melted on Bristle bundles can be generated have.
Furthermore, the brush manufacturing machine can be equipped with a removal station for removing bundle pockets and/or at least with a further processing station. All of the aforementioned stations can be distributed on or around the indexing table.
With the aid of the rotary indexing table and its preferably four arms, bundle pockets equipped with bundles of bristles can be transported in a clocked manner to the individual stations of the brush manufacturing machine and the bundles of bristles located therein can be processed at these stations.
In addition, the aforementioned object is also achieved through the use of a device for forming bundles of bristles in the manufacture of brushes.
Also disclosed is a brush with a set of bristles that includes at least two bundles of bristles, with at least two of the bundles of bristles being combined in a common bundle section.
The brush can also have at least one bundle of bristles which is provided with at least one recess.
The recess in the at least one bristle bundle of the brush can have a closed cross-section defined by bristle filaments of the bristle bundle. The recess in the at least one bundle of bristles of the brush can be arranged between a first closed bundle section and a second closed bundle section of the bristle bundle. The first closed bundle section can adjoin a free end of the bristle bundle. The second closed bundle section can adjoin an end of the bristle bundle on the bristle carrier side or on the handle side.
The recess can be delimited on the one hand by the first closed bundle section and on the other hand by the second closed bundle section of the bristle bundle. The recess can ultimately be defined and delimited laterally by bristle filaments of the bristle bundle, which surround the recess, preferably in a closed ring. Thus, the recess in the bundle of bristles can also be referred to as a window or cut-out formed within the bundle of bristles. The recess can be laterally surrounded by a closed ring or frame made of bristle filaments of the bristle bundle and thereby delimited.
