Definitions
- the field of the invention is that of audio devices of the extra-auricular type.
- the invention relates more particularly to an earpiece comprising a transducer capable of transmitting acoustic waves to the pinna of the ear and an extra-auricular support comprising a housing in which the transducer is housed, a body and a fixing device cooperating with the housing and the body, said fixing device being designed to couple the housing and the body to the auricle in a fixing position in which the transducer bears against the internal face of the auricle and in which the body rests against the outer surface of the auricle.
- These audio transducers use the cartilage of the ear as a support for the propagation of acoustic waves for sound amplification in contact with the inner ear.
- the transmission of the acoustic waves to the lobe of the ear is not optimal in terms of quality and listening comfort for the user.
- the audio device protrudes here on the outer and inner face of the ear, which increases the risk of the device being torn off, in particular when using headphones. protection (motorcycle, ski, construction site, etc.) or during the practice of an intense sporting activity.
- the object of the invention is therefore to remedy the aforementioned problems.
- the subject of the invention is an earpiece comprising a transducer capable of transmitting acoustic waves to the pinna of the ear and an extra-auricular support for the transducer
- a transducer capable of transmitting acoustic waves to the pinna of the ear and an extra-auricular support for the transducer
- said fixing device being designed to couple the housing and the body to the auricle in a fixing position in which the transducer bears against the internal face of the auricle the ear and in which the body is in bearing against the external face of the auricle, characterized in that the body is in the form of a rider whose legs are designed to overlap the root of the helix on the external face of the auricle in the fixing position and in that the fixing device is designed to center the transducer in front of the body on the internal face of the pinna of the ear opposite the root of the helix in the fixing position.
- the idea underlying the invention consists in providing an extra-auricular support capable of placing the audio device upside down from the root of the helix against the internal face of the pavilion of the ear where there is a optimal anatomical point of the ear for quality and comfort of listening, called furrow of the root of the helix (sulcus cruris helicis).
- the idea is also to clamp and center the body overlapping the root of the helix with the housing against the groove of the root of the helix so as to increase the resistance to tearing while limiting bulk and discomfort of the device once positioned on the ear.
- the overlapping of the root of the helix alone already provides a high resistance to tearing, which advantageously makes it possible to reduce the clamping force necessary for the fixing device to bring the housing closer to the body, and ultimately to reduce the media size.
- the extra-auricular support 1 according to the invention is particularly well suited for coupling an audio device, an earphone 2 with transducer on the figure 6 , at pinna 3 of a user's ear.
- extra-auricular support any type of support designed to be fixed to the auricle of a user's ear.
- the support 1 therefore comprises a body 4 here taking the form of a rider, or a U, whose legs 5 (or wings) are designed to overlap the root of the helix 6 (or root of the Crous propeller) and place the body 4 in a locking position.
- the root of the helix 6 is a cartilaginous part of the ear 3 which forms the base of the helix of Crous and which takes root in the concha 7 on the outer face 3a of the pavilion, as represented in FIG.
- the root of the helix 6 thus separates the conch 7 into two parts, one superior and narrow, called Cymba Conchea 7a, and the other lower and wider, called Cavum Conchae 7b.
- the legs 5 of the body 4 thus extend sufficiently to reach the cymba conchea 7a and the cavum conchae 7b, ie approximately 2 to 5mm.
- the body 4 is made of a ductile material, for example a flexible plastic, allowing the tabs 5 of the rider to be folded down to come into contact with the shell 7 and to adjust the tightness against the root of the helix 6.
- the legs 5 of the body 4 can therefore be more or less bent, or on the contrary be laid flat, depending on the configuration of the root of the helix 6 of the user's ear.
- the body 4 may also have a bump 8 at each end of the tabs 5 of the rider so as to soften the contact of the support with the ear and to improve the audio transmission.
- This bump 8 also makes it possible to stabilize the body 4 in the blocking position in the Cymba Conchea 7a and Cavum Conchae 7b.
- the support 1 further comprises a housing 9 intended to receive a transducer, and the configuration of which makes it possible to place the transducer directly against the internal face 3b of the pavilion 3 of the ear, more precisely in the groove of the helix 10, also called Sulcus Cruris Helicics.
- the helix groove 10 is a groove on the inner surface 3b of the auricle 3 below the spine of the helix 11, corresponding to the reverse of the root of the helix 6 on the outer surface 3a of pavilion 3, as shown in figure 1b .
- This anatomical part of the ear is also considered the zero point in acupuncture, the most favorable point for the transmission of the audio signal to obtain a natural sound.
- the figures 5a, 5b and 5c show the different spectral responses of an audio signal depending on the position of a transducer on the auricle.
- This low midrange level accentuates the perception of the bass, which strongly vibrates the pinna of the ear without providing the desired listening quality.
- the mediums are higher, approximately 35 db, than the bass , about 27db, which provides a balanced sound for optimal listening quality.
- the housing according to the invention is here in the form of an elastic ring 13 designed to block the transducer by pinching.
- the ring 13 of the housing functions in the manner of an elastic clamping ring capable of clamping a transducer at the periphery while allowing direct contact of the transducer with the groove of the helix 10.
- the housing can also be adapted to allow the insertion and blocking of a box 17 of a earphone 2 itself housing a transducer and other electronic components, as shown in the figure 6 .
- the support 1 further comprises a fixing device 14 cooperating with the housing 9 and the body 4 to couple them to the auricle.
- the fixing device 14 is thus designed to bring the housing 9 and the body 4 towards each other against the pavilion 3 of the ear in a fixing position, represented on the figure 6 .
- This fixing device 14 also has another functionality allowing it to center the housing 9 on the inner face 3b of the pavilion 3 of the ear opposite the root of the helix 6 opposite the body 4 .
- the fixing device 14 comprises for example magnetic attraction means 15 arranged in the housing 9 and in the jumper.
- a magnet 15 can be provided at one end of at least one of the legs 5, preferably the leg arranged to end up in the Cymba Conchea 7a, or else a magnet in a central portion 18 of the jumper which extends between the legs 5 in the cavity of the pavilion of the ear at the junction of the Cymba Conchea 7a and the Cavum Conchae 7b.
- the housing 9 can itself be composed of a magnetized part.
- the magnetized part 15 of the housing 9 could be replaced by the magnet 15 of the transducer 19 serving to generate the acoustic waves with the coil.
- the fixing device 14 may comprise an elastic tab 16 connecting the housing 9 and the body 4 so as to bring the housing 9 and the body 4 closer by pinching .
- the tongue 16 will for example connect the central portion 18 of the jumper perpendicularly.
- the elastic tab 16 may be in the form of a W whose ends connect the housing 9 and the body 4. This W-shape is particularly well suited to match the shape of the auricle.
- the support 1 according to the invention is thus particularly well suited for many types of audio devices, such as an earphone 2 comprising for example an audio transducer, a hearing device for the hearing impaired, a microphone, etc.
- the earphone 2 here comprises a box 17, inserted and blocked in the housing.
- the housing 17 comprises a transducer 19 here having a contact surface 20 of rounded shape, shown in figure 6 , intended to marry the hollow of the furrow of the helix 10 to substantially block the housing 9 along the internal face of the pavilion.
- the housing 17 further comprises a magnet 15 disposed in an inclined manner with respect to the transducer 19.
- An angle of about 10 to 20° is well suited here to position the magnet 15 of the housing 17 opposite the magnet 15 of the central portion 18 of the jumper when the earpiece 2 is in the fixing position on the ear, as seen on the figure 6 .
- an earphone 2 according to the invention on the ear of a user, first requires substantially separating the tabs 5 of the jumper from the body 4 in order to then tighten them on the root of the helix 6.
- the housing 9 is placed against the inner face 3a of the ear. Thanks to the fixing device 14, the housing 4 comes to place itself in the groove of the helix 10 and brings the housing 9 and the body 4 towards each other in the fixing position.

Description
- le dispositif de fixation fonctionne par attraction magnétique ;
- le dispositif de fixation comprend au moins un aimant disposé dans le logement et un aimant disposé dans le corps pour réaliser ladite attraction magnétique ;
- le corps comprend un aimant à l'extrémité d'au moins une des pattes ;
- le dispositif de fixation comprend une languette élastique reliant le logement et le corps, le dispositif de fixation fonctionnant par pincement ;
- la languette élastique a une forme de W dont les extrémités relient le logement et le corps de sorte que la languette épouse la forme du pavillon de l'oreille ;
- le logement se présente sous la forme d'une bague élastique conçue pour bloquer l'appareil audio par pincement ;
figure 1b .
figure 6 .
figure 6 .
figure 6 .
