Claims (3)

  1. Roll stand (1) comprising at least one upper work roll (2), at least one cooling device (5) for cooling the upper work roll (2), by which the upper work roll (2) can be acted on at the circumference by a cooling liquid (6), and at least one stripper (9), which is led up to the upper work roll (2) at the circumference and by which the cooling liquid (6) flowing off the upper work roll (2) can be collected on the stripper (9) with formation of a cooling liquid sea (10) bounded at one side by the upper work roll (2) and can be stripped off the upper work roll (2), characterised in that the cooling device (5) comprises at least one water jet pump (12) having a pressure water inlet (13), which is connected at least temporarily with a cooling liquid supply of the cooling device (5), and a suction inlet (14) immersed in the cooling liquid sea (10), wherein the water jet pump (12) is arranged at least partly within a cooling bar (7), by which the upper work roll (2) can be acted on by the cooling liquid (6), of the cooling device (5).
  2. Roll stand (1) according to claim 1, characterised in that an outlet of the water jet pump (12) or an outlet (15) of a liquid conduit (16) in communicating connection with the outlet of the water jet pump (12) is arranged geodetically deeper than the cooling liquid sea (10).
  3. Method of cooling the upper work roll (2) of a roll stand (1), wherein the upper work roll (2) is acted on at the circumference by a cooling liquid (6) and the cooling liquid (6) flowing off the upper work roll (2) is collected by means of a stripper (9), which is led up to the upper work roll (2) at the circumference, on the stripper (9) with formation of a cooling liquid sea (10) bounded at one side by the upper work roll (2) and is stripped off the upper work roll (2), characterised in that the cooling liquid of the cooling liquid sea (10) is pumped away with use of at least one water jet pump (12) arranged at least partly within a cooling bar (7), by which the upper work roll (2) can be acted on by the cooling liquid (6), of the cooling device (5), wherein a suction inlet (14) of the water jet pump (12) is immersed at least temporarily in the cooling liquid sea (10) and a pressure water inlet (13) of the water jet pump (12) is connected at least temporarily with a cooling liquid supply.
