Claims (15)

  1. A method for producing rod-shaped products (102, 104) of the tobacco processing industry, namely segments for heat-not-burn products or filter segments, wherein a first elongated insert body (6) is introduced, namely inserted, through a first end face (4) of a rod-shaped segment (3) and a second elongated insert body (7) is introduced, namely inserted, through a second end face (5) of the rod-shaped segment (3) into the rod-shaped segment (3), wherein the first elongated insert body (6) and the second elongated insert body (7) will be or are arranged in the rod-shaped segment (3) such that the front sides (8) of the elongated insert bodies (6, 7) facing one another are distanced from one another in a longitudinally-axial direction, wherein, following the introduction of the elongated insert bodies (6, 7), the rod-shaped segment (3) is severed between the front sides (8) of the elongated insert bodies (6, 7).
  2. The method according to Claim 1, characterized in that the rod-shaped segment (3) is conveyed transversely-axially, while the first elongated insert body (6) is introduced into the rod-shaped segment (3) and/or while the second elongated insert body (7) is introduced into the rod-shaped segment (3), wherein, in particular, in order to introduce the first elongated insert body (6) into the rod-shaped segment (3), the first elongated insert body (6) and the rod-shaped segment (3) are moved in a longitudinally-axial direction relative to one another, and/or in order to introduce the second elongated insert body (7) into the rod-shaped segment (3), the second elongated insert body (7) and the rod-shaped segment (3) are moved in a longitudinally-axial direction relative to one another, wherein in particular
    a) in order to introduce the first elongated insert body (6) into the rod-shaped segment (3), the first elongated insert body (6) is inserted into the rod-shaped segment (3) while the rod-shaped segment (3) is permanently held in a longitudinally-axial direction and/or, in order to introduce the second elongated insert body (7) into the rod-shaped segment (3), the second elongated insert body (7) is inserted into the rod-shaped segment (3) while the rod-shaped segment (3) is permanently held in a longitudinally-axial direction, or
    b) in order to introduce the first elongated insert body (6) into the rod-shaped segment (3), the rod-shaped segment (3) is pushed over the first elongated insert body (6), while the first elongated insert body (6) is permanently held in a longitudinally-axial direction and/or, in order to introduce the second elongated insert body (7) into the rod-shaped segment (3), the rod-shaped segment (3) is pushed over the second elongated insert body (7) while the second elongated insert body (7) is permanently held in a longitudinally-axial direction, or
    c) in order to introduce the first elongated insert body (6) into the rod-shaped segment (3), the rod-shaped segment (3) and the first elongated insert body (6) are each moved toward one another and/or, in order to introduce the second elongated insert body (7) into the rod-shaped segment (3), the rod-shaped segment (3) and the second elongated insert body (7) are each moved toward one another.
  3. The method according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the first elongated insert body (6) and the second elongated insert body (7) are simultaneously introduced into the rod-shaped segment (3) or the elongated insert bodies (6, 7) are sequentially introduced into the rod-shaped segment (3), wherein, following the introduction of the first elongated insert body (6) and prior to the introduction of the second elongated insert body (7), in particular the rod-shaped segment (3) is displaced longitudinally-axially, in particular in the direction of the first end face (4) and/or in particular by at least the length of the second elongated insert body (7).
  4. The method according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the first elongated insert body (6) and/or the second elongated insert body (7) is/are produced from a harder material, in particular from metal, than the rod-shaped segment (3).
  5. The method according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that, following the introduction of the elongated insert bodies (6, 7), the rod-shaped segment (3) is cut through centrally between the front sides (8) of the elongated insert bodies (6, 7).
  6. The method according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the first elongated insert body (6) and the second elongated insert body (7) are each cut to substantially the same length before the elongated insert bodies (6, 7) are introduced into the rod-shaped segment (3).

The method according to any one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the first elongated insert body (6) and/or the second elongated insert body (7) has/have a substantially uniform cross-sectional shape (110, 112, 114, 116) along its/their longitudinal directions, wherein the cross-sectional shape (110, 112, 114, 116) is in particular X-shaped or Y-shaped or star-shaped or ring-shaped.
