- Profile (1) for a sliding door, comprising a main body (2) having an internal guide structure (3) for the sliding door and an external bearing face (4) for bearing a further component (6), wherein the external bearing face (4) is assigned at least one upper holding strip (5a) and at least one lower holding strip (5b), the planar further component (6) being disposable between and/or on said upper and lower holding strip (5a, 5b) in such a manner that the external bearing face (4) is at least partially or completely obscured by the further component (6), and wherein both holding strips (5a, 5b) protrude from the bearing face (4) and at least partially border the bearing face (4), characterized in that the external visible surface (7) of the further component (6), the former facing away from the bearing face (4), is flush with the external edges of the holding strips (5a, 5b), wherein the further component (6) is connected to the main body (2) in a materially integral manner, specifically adhesively bonded to the bearing face (4) of the main body (2), such that the further component (6) is able to be reversibly fastened to the main body (2).
