Description

TECHNISCHES GEBIETTECHNICAL AREA

The present invention relates to a flush valve arrangement for controlling the withdrawal of water from a cistern according to the preamble of claim 1.

STAND DER TECHNIKSTATE OF THE ART

Flush valve arrangements for controlling the withdrawal of water from a cistern are known from the prior art. Such flush valve arrangements are, for example, from WO 2006/068628 A , DE 299 00 976 U , U.S. 2,121,362 and from the FR 2 872 184 A known.

Over time, the cisterns became more and more compact, which made modifications to the flush valves necessary. In particular, the flush valves have been modified for easy installation in the cistern.

The more compact design of the cisterns has the disadvantage that the flush valves are not fully accessible to the installer when installed. This means that the fitter cannot reach all areas of the cistern with his hand during installation or maintenance. As a result, parts of the flush valve cannot or can only be removed from the cistern with difficulty.

DARSTELLUNG DER ERFINDUNGDISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION

Proceeding from this problem, the invention is based on an object of specifying a flushing valve arrangement which overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art. In particular, the flush valve arrangement should be designed in such a way that it can be easily installed in the cistern and removed from the cistern again. the DE 299 00 976 U can be regarded as the closest prior art.

This object is achieved by the subject matter of claim 1. Accordingly, a flush valve arrangement comprises a flush valve comprising a housing with a lower end and an upper end as well as a valve body movably mounted in the housing along a central axis, a flush valve holder with a receiving section for receiving the lower end of the flush valve and a bearing section for connecting the flush valve holder to a drain opening of a flush cistern, and a hold-down unit. With the hold-down unit, the flush valve is held in the interior of the cistern, in particular against a buoyancy force. The hold-down unit comprises a first hold-down device that acts with an active section on the housing of the flushing valve and a second hold-down device that acts on the flush valve holder with an effective section.

The separate design of the two hold-down devices has the advantage that the flush valve can be installed or removed in the cistern separately from the flush valve holder.

Installation is also easier because first the flush valve holder and then the flush valve can be inserted into the cistern. This is an advantage, especially when there is limited space in the cistern.

Furthermore, in the case of maintenance, for example, only the flush valve can be removed while the flush valve holder remains in the cistern. A seal is typically provided between the flush valve holder and the drain port. In this respect, the separation here has the advantage that the flush valve holder remains in the cistern when the flush valve is replaced or revised, so that the seal is not stressed. Such loads have a negative impact on the sealing effect.

The two hold-down devices are designed separately from one another and can be connected to one another at a connection point. This connection is such that it can be canceled in the event of maintenance, so that the flush valve can be removed while the flush valve holder remains in the cistern. Furthermore, at least one of the two hold-down devices can be connected to the cistern. This connection is such that it can be canceled in the event of maintenance, so that the flushing valve holder and the flushing valve are expandable.

The connection point is preferably arranged at an easily accessible point so that the installer has good access to the connection point. The connection point is preferably designed in such a way that it can be detachably connected to the cistern.

The connection point is preferably closer to the upper end of the housing, as seen along the central axis, than in the case of the flushing valve holder. Alternatively, the junction is above the top of the housing. This arrangement has the advantage that the connection point can be arranged near a maintenance opening in the cistern. This means that the connection point is easily accessible through the maintenance opening. The maintenance opening is the opening that is typically located behind an actuator plate.

The active sections of the hold-down devices preferably act as close as possible to the bearing section of the flushing valve holder, in particular in the region of the receiving section, on the flushing valve and the flushing valve holder. This means that the force is applied as close as possible to the point at which the flush valve holder is connected to the cistern. As a result, transverse forces on the flushing valve holder and the flushing valve can largely be avoided. This means that the flush valve is not pushed away to the side. In addition, the guide lengths between the flushing valve holder and the drain opening and between the flushing valve holder and the flushing valve can be reduced.

The connection point between the two hold-down devices is preferably provided by a snap connection between the first hold-down device and the second hold-down device.

The elements that provide the snap connection are firmly molded onto the respective hold-down device. The snap connection is preferably a direct connection between the two hold-down devices. That means there are no more Elements are present between the two hold-down devices.

The snap connection particularly preferably has flexible snaps and a receptacle. The snapper engage in the receptacle, which is preferably rigid. The flexible snapper are preferably arranged on the first hold-down device and the receptacle is preferably arranged on the second hold-down device.

The hold-down devices preferably extend essentially in the manner of a rod, in particular with a rectangular cross section, in the direction of the central axis. The connection point is preferably placed at the free ends of the hold-down devices. The free ends lie opposite the active sections.

This means that the hold-down devices are pulled from bottom to top by the rod-like sections along the housing, which, as mentioned, is conducive to accessibility.

The hold-down devices are preferably designed to be sprung. This means that the hold-down devices can be moved slightly resiliently towards and away from the housing.

The two hold-down devices preferably extend essentially parallel to one another, the first hold-down device being closer to the housing than the second hold-down device. The two hold-down devices are preferably close to the housing, which is advantageous for the compactness of the arrangement.

At least one of the hold-down devices, in particular the second hold-down device, preferably has a latching structure with which the hold-down device can be connected to a cistern, the latching structure preferably being closer to the connection point than the flush valve holder, or the latching structure in the area of the free end of the holding-down device or wherein the locking structure is at the level of the connection point.

Said, in particular the second, hold-down device is connected to the cistern via the latching structure, while the other, in particular the first, hold-down device is connected to the said, in particular to the second, hold-down device, preferably via the Connection point is in communication.

The arrangement of the latching structure in the area of the connection point has the advantage that the latching structure is also easily accessible.

At least one of the hold-down devices, in particular the second hold-down device, preferably has a compensating element between the active section and the connection point, with which position tolerances relative to the cistern can be compensated. The compensation element is preferably arranged in the area of the rod-like section and ensures that the rod-like section can compensate for angle errors.

The active section of the second hold-down device and the counterpart on the flushing valve holder are preferably designed as a mechanical connection, in particular as a latching connection. The connection is such that the second hold-down device can establish a fixed connection with the flushing valve holder. This means that the second hold-down device can be firmly connected to the flushing valve holder via the mechanical connection or the latching connection. This allows the flush valve holder with the hold-down device to be inserted into the cistern. The installer can grasp the unit consisting of the hold-down device and flush valve holder on the hold-down device and then insert the flush valve holder into the drain opening through the maintenance opening.

In another embodiment, it is also conceivable that the active area of the second hold-down device is integrally formed on the flushing valve holder. This results in the same advantages as with the latching connection.

The relative arrangement between the second hold-down device and the flushing valve holder is preferably such that a force can be applied evenly to the flushing valve holder in the direction of the central axis or that a force can be applied to the flushing valve holder at two locations that are essentially opposite with respect to the central axis . This can prevent the flush valve holder from tilting when it is inserted into the drain opening.

The connection between the second hold-down device and the flushing valve holder preferably allows an angular relative movement between the hold-down device and the flushing valve holder. This avoids tilting during assembly.

With regard to the latching connection, it is particularly preferred that two latching connections are arranged that are essentially opposite one another with respect to the central axis.

The latching connection preferably comprises a latching opening and a latching tab protruding into the latching opening.

The active section of the first hold-down device preferably comprises at least one spring section which acts on an edge region of the housing. Due to the spring-loaded design, forces that can occur during flushing can advantageously be introduced into the hold-down device.

The spring section preferably has the shape of a leaf spring.

The edge area of the housing is preferably a web protruding from the housing, the top of which is in contact with the hold-down device and the bottom of which rests on the flush valve holder, the web between the bottom and the top preferably being 5 millimeters thick. This enables the force to be introduced in the area of the lower end.

The first hold-down device is preferably mounted movably in a longitudinal guide on the outside of the housing. The longitudinal guide is oriented in the direction of the central axis.

A cistern arrangement comprises a cistern with a drain opening and a receptacle to which one of the hold-down devices can be connected, and a flush valve arrangement as described above. The flush valve holder is mounted in the drain opening. The second hold-down device is preferably connected to the cistern with its latching structure.

  • dass in einem nachfolgenden Schritt das Spülventil mit dem ersten Niederhalter in der Aufnahme der Spülventilhalterung montiert wird;

A method for assembling a flush valve assembly according to the above description is characterized in,
  • that in a first step the flush valve holder with the second hold-down device is installed in the cistern,
  • that in a subsequent step the flushing valve with the first hold-down device is mounted in the receptacle of the flushing valve holder;
  • that in a subsequent step the two hold-down devices are connected to one another at the connection point; and

BESCHREIBUNG BEVORZUGTER AUSFÜHRUNGSFORMENDESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

In the figures, a flush valve arrangement 1 is used to control the water withdrawal a cistern 29 is shown. The flush valve arrangement 1 essentially comprises a flush valve 2, a flush valve holder 7 and a hold-down unit 10.

The flush valve 2 essentially comprises a housing 3 with a lower end 4 and an upper end 5 as well as a valve body 6 movably mounted in the housing 2 along a central axis M. The valve body 6 can be closed by a closed position in which no water from the Cistern can be removed, move into a flushing position in which water can flow out of the cistern 29.

The flush valve holder 7 is used to hold or mount the flush valve 2 in the cistern 29. The flush valve holder 7 comprises a receiving section 8 for receiving the lower end 4 of the flushing valve 2. The lower end 4 and the receiving section 8 are each cylindrical in the embodiment shown and the lower end 4 can be inserted into the receiving section 8. The flush valve holder 7 further comprises a bearing section 9 for connecting the flush valve holder 7 to a drain opening 31. The bearing section 9 protrudes into the drain opening 31. The drain port 31 is as in FIG Figure 2 shown, part of the cistern 29.

When the cistern 29 is filled with water, the flush valve 2 experiences a buoyancy in the water. The hold-down unit 10, which holds the flushing valve 2 and the flushing valve holder 7 in the correct position against the buoyancy force, acts against this buoyancy force. The hold-down unit 10 comprises a first hold-down 12 and a second hold-down 14. The first hold-down 12 acts with an active section 11 on the flushing valve 2 and the second hold-down 14 acts with an effective section 13 on the flushing valve holder 7 the flush valve 2 and the flush valve holder 7 held in their installation position. In the embodiment shown, the hold-down unit 10 is also connected to the cistern 29.

According to the invention, the two hold-down devices 12, 14 can be connected to one another at a connection point 15. The connection is designed to be separable. In the Figures 1 , 3 and 4th the two hold-down devices 12, 14 are connected to one another at the connection point 15. In the Figures 2 , 5 and 6th are the Hold-down devices 12, 14 separately from one another.

The junction 15 is, as in FIG Figure 1 shown, arranged above the upper end 5 of the housing 3 as seen along the central axis M. This has the advantage that the connection point 15 is easily accessible in the installed state through a maintenance opening in the cistern, which is not specifically shown in the figures. In the Figure 1 the approximate position of the maintenance opening is shown schematically by an ellipse 32. The maintenance opening in a cistern is typically above the maximum fill level of the cistern 29. In other embodiments, not shown, the connection point can, however, also be below the upper end 5 of the housing 3. However, it is advantageous that the connection point 15, viewed along the central axis M, is closer to the upper end 5 of the housing 3 than in the case of the flushing valve holder 7, or that the connection point 15, viewed from the lower end 4, is as far away from the lower end 4 as possible lower end 4 lies.

The active sections 11, 13 of the hold-down devices 12, 14 act as close as possible to the bearing section 9, in particular in the area of the receiving section 8, on the flushing valve 2 and the flushing valve holder 7. This means that the active sections 11, 13 act as close as possible to the drain opening 31 on the flush valve 2 and the flush valve holder 7. This has the advantage that during assembly or operation the forces act as closely as possible in the area of the corresponding guides.

For the first hold-down device 12 with its active section 11, this action means that it acts on the flushing valve 2 slightly above the connection point between the lower end 4 and the receiving section 8. The area of action is in the Figure 2 and 7th provided with the reference symbol 12 '. As a result of this action of force, the guide length between the lower end 4 and the receiving section 8 can be made comparatively short, as a result of which the flushing valve 2 can be made compact. In addition, the application of force is optimal because tilting between the flushing valve 2 and the flushing valve holder 7 can be avoided.

With regard to the second hold-down device 14 and its active section 13, which acts on the flushing valve holder 7, this point of action is also in the region of the receptacle 30 arranged. The area of action is in the Figure 2 provided with the reference numeral 14 '. Here, too, tilting between the bearing section 9 and the drain opening 31 is prevented.

In the Figure 2 the flush valve arrangement 1 is shown in connection with the cistern 29. The cistern 29 is only shown partially. In the Figure 2 the flush valve holder 7 is inserted with its bearing section 9 into the drain opening 31 of the cistern 29. The second hold-down device 14 acts with its active section 13 on the flushing valve holder 7. The second hold-down device 14 is also connected to the cistern 20 via a latching structure 19. The latching structure 19 is arranged at the free end 18 of the second hold-down device 14 and engages in a receptacle 30 which is molded or attached to the cistern 29. A latching connection is provided between the latching structure 19 and the receptacle 30.

Furthermore, the second hold-down device 14 has a compensating element 21 between the active section 13 and the connection point. The compensation element 21 serves to compensate for positional tolerances with respect to the cistern 29. For example, the compensation element 21 can compensate for an angle error. In addition, the compensating element 21 has a slightly resilient effect in the direction of the central axis M. The compensating element 21 can also act as a support with the wall 20 of the cistern 29. For this purpose, the compensation element 21 has two support points 37 in the embodiment shown.

In the embodiment shown, the first hold-down device 12 is movably supported in a longitudinal guide 27 on the outside of the housing 3. The longitudinal guide 27 is located close to the point at which the active section 11 acts on the housing 3. As a result of the mounting in the longitudinal guide 27, it is achieved that the first hold-down device 12 forms a unit with the flush valve 2, which is then used together in the cistern. Based on the Figure 2 the flush valve 2 can then be inserted together with the first hold-down device 12 through the maintenance opening into the cistern. The lower end 4 is pushed into the receiving section 8 of the flushing valve holder 7. The housing 3 rests with an edge region 25 on the flushing valve holder 7. After the flush valve 2 has been placed, the two hold-down devices 12, 14 can be connected to one another at the connection point 15.

Diese Verbindung wird in der Figur 1 gezeigt. This connection is in the Figure 1 shown.

As already mentioned, the second hold-down device 14 is connected to the cistern 29 and the first hold-down device 12 is connected to the second hold-down device 14 via the connection point 15. The first hold-down device 12 is thus indirectly connected to the cistern 29 via the second hold-down device 14.

In the Figure 3 Another view of the flush valve assembly 1 is shown. Of the Figure 3 It can be clearly seen that the two hold-down devices 12, 14 are essentially rod-like and extend upwards along the central axis M from the contact point at which the active sections 11, 13 act on the corresponding elements. The rod-like sections have a rectangular cross-section and have the reference numeral 40. Furthermore, the rod-like sections 40 in the embodiment shown have reinforcing ribs 41, which increase the compressive rigidity of the rod-like section 40.

The hold-down devices 12, 14 are also designed to be slightly resilient, so that a kind of bending movement in the direction of arrow B is possible. This bending movement can compensate for tolerances in relation to the cistern 29.

Of the Figure 3 It can also be clearly seen that the two hold-down devices 12, 14 extend essentially parallel to one another. The first hold-down device 12 is closer to the housing 3 than the second hold-down device 14. This arrangement enables a compact structure to be created.

The connection point 15 is, as in the figures, in particular in the Figures 1 3, provided by a snap connection. The snap connection is between the first hold-down device 12 and the second hold-down device 14 such that the two hold-down devices 12, 14 can be snapped together. The connection is designed to be detachable. In the embodiment shown, the snap connection comprises two flexible snaps 16 which are arranged at the free end 17 of the first hold-down device 12. The snap connection further comprises a receptacle 38 which is arranged at the free end 18 of the second hold-down device 14. The snapper 16 engage the receptacle 38 a. The receptacle 38 is preferably rigid. Behind the receptacle 38, the second hold-down device 14 then has the latching elements 19, with which the second hold-down device 14, as mentioned above, can engage in the receptacle 30 of the cistern 29.

The latches 16 preferably have grooves 39 on the outside, which signal to the user that the latches 16 are to be gripped in order to separate the connection between the two hold-down devices 12, 14.

Based on Figures 1 to 4 and FIG. 7, the action of the active section 13 of the second hold-down device 14 on the flushing valve holder 7 will now be explained. The active section 13 of the second hold-down device 14 and the counterpart on the flushing holder 7 are designed as a mechanical connection, in particular as a latching connection 22, 23. The mechanical connection is such that the second hold-down device 14 can establish a fixed connection with the flushing valve holder 7. As a result, when inserting the flushing valve holder 7 into the drain opening 31, the second hold-down device 14 can serve as an assembly aid. The fitter can take hold of the free end 18 of the second hold-down device 14 and insert the flush valve holder 7 into the drain opening 31.

The relative arrangement between the second hold-down device 14 and the flushing valve holder 7 is such that a force F can be applied uniformly to the flushing valve holder 7 in the direction of the central axis M. Canting of the flushing valve holder 7 when it is inserted into the drainage opening 31 can thus be prevented. In the embodiment shown, essentially two opposing latching connections 22, 23 are arranged with respect to the central axis M. This means that an even distribution of the force is achieved. In the embodiment shown, the latching connection 22, 23 comprises a latching opening 23 and a latching tab 22 protruding into the latching opening 23 . In the embodiment shown, the latching tab 22 stands from a cross member 33 which extends laterally from the rod-like section of the second hold-down device 14.

The connection between the second holding-down device 14 and the second flushing valve holder 7 is preferably such that an angular relative movement between the holding-down device 14 and the flushing valve holder 7 is made possible. For this purpose, in the embodiment shown, the latching opening 23 has a surface 34 inclined at an angle to the central axis M. When there is pressure in the direction of the force F, the cross member 33 can move against the surface 34. An angle error can be compensated for in this way. The angled surface is from the Figure 3 particularly easy to recognize.

With reference to the Figures 5 to 7 the action of the active section 11 of the first hold-down device 12 on the flushing valve 2 will now be explained in more detail. The active section 11 of the first hold-down device 12 has at least one spring section 24 which acts on an edge region 25 of the housing 3. In the embodiment shown, there are two spring sections 24 which extend laterally away from the first hold-down device 12 and act on the edge region 25 of the housing 3 at two spaced apart locations. Due to the spring-loaded design, tensile forces which act on the flushing valve 2 can be compensated. In the embodiment shown, the spring section 24 has the shape of a leaf spring. In the embodiment shown, the edge region 25 of the housing 2 is a web protruding from the housing 3, the upper side 26 of which comes into contact with the hold-down device 12 or with the active section 11. The underside of the web rests on the flush valve holder 7. The web has a small thickness and is preferably less than 5 millimeters thick. This means that the action of the force via the active section 11 is as close as possible to the flushing valve holder 7.
