Abstract

Description

The present invention relates to a box spring according to the preamble of claim 1.

A box spring is part of a bed town known as a box spring bed, which is used for rest, especially for sleeping. A box spring bed includes the box spring, a mattress, as well as feet attached under the box spring and optionally a topper and / or a headboard. The mattress is placed on a single bed on one and on a double bed on two box springs. The box spring thus serves as a spring base for the actual mattress, so that the sleeper lies on a double spring base.

A large number of springs, in particular pocket spring cores, are provided in the suspension over the surface. In combination with the mattress, this combination of surface-elastic support by means of the suspension and point-elastic support by means of the mattress creates a particularly good and relaxing feeling for a person resting on the box spring bed. Furthermore, the box spring with its feet and the mattress arranged thereon provides a box spring bed with a lying surface raised from the floor, which makes it easier to get up and lie down.

Inter IKEA Systems B.V. sells a box spring for a box spring bed under the name ESPEVÄR. From the assembly instructions 103.071.65 / AA-1793786-3 for the box spring "Espevär" is a box spring comprising a suspension, a frame with attachable feet, a support made of a number of crossbars to support the suspension and a cover for fixing the Suspension known on the frame.

The box spring ESPEVÄR is delivered disassembled into its component parts in a cardboard box or packed in several cardboard boxes and, for example, handed over to the customer in a pick-up market. This enables space-saving storage and inexpensive transportation of the box spring. The box spring is then assembled at the customer's home using the assembly instructions mentioned above.

Transporting the box spring home from the pick-up market is very tedious for the customer, especially due to the 2 m long spars of the frame. In addition, it is very time consuming for the customer, for many customers it is also nerve-wracking to assemble the box spring themselves, even if the customer uses the assembly instructions.

It is also not possible to ship the box spring with standard postal parcels because the longitudinal spars are 2 m long and because the various post and courier services only transport parcels with a maximum size of 80 cm x 80 cm x 120 cm. A shipment with a shipping company would be possible, but is not an alternative for cost reasons.

Proceeding from this, the present invention is based on the object of creating a box spring of the type mentioned at the outset which can be delivered to the customer at low cost and which the customer can easily assemble without great effort.

A box spring with the features of claim 1 is proposed as a technical solution to this problem. Advantageous further developments of this box spring can be found in the respective subclaims.

A box spring designed according to this technical teaching has the advantage that the frame can be pushed together so strongly that the frame has an area of less than 80 cm x. Due to the pivotable and foldable head rails and / or the pivotable and foldable foot rails Occupies 120cm and that the frame has a normal bed size when extended, i.e. a width of up to 120cm and a length of up to 220cm. A frame pushed together in this way enables the box spring to be shipped in customary postal packages so that the shipping costs can be reduced to a minimum. Another advantage is that the customer only has to pull the frame apart and insert the slats into the receptacles provided to hold a functional box spring. Screwing individual components as in the prior art is not necessary in the embodiment according to the invention.

When the head segment and / or the foot segment are pulled apart, the head rails and / or the foot rails are moved into their end position without further action. In the event that this is not completely done when pulling apart, it may be necessary for the user to help a little and move the head bars / foot bars into the end position. Such a simple construction of the frame and the entire box spring can also be done by people who are not so skilled in the art or who are not so strong.

In a preferred embodiment, the slats are arranged in the longitudinal direction, at least one slat being held on the head crossbar and on the central crossbar and / or at least one crossbar on the foot crossbar and the central crossbar. In a preferred embodiment, it has been found that the attachment of three equidistantly arranged slats on the head element and three equidistantly arranged slats on the foot element enable sufficient support of the suspension.

The attachment of the slats in the longitudinal direction has the advantage that both the head segment and the foot segment are thereby given longitudinal stability, as a result of which the head element and / or the foot element is held under tension. This prevents the head element or the foot element from being accidentally pushed together.

In another preferred embodiment, the head pillars or the foot pillars are held on the central crossbar, the head crossbar or the foot crossbar via a corresponding swivel joint. In a preferred embodiment, such a swivel joint comprises an upper and a lower swivel fitting, both of which are fastened to the respective head crossbars, central crossbars or foot crossbars, and an articulated axis which runs through the head element or the central element or the foot element.
