Die Auswerteeinheit ermittelt den Trocknungszustand in Abhängigkeit der erfassten Temperatur des Spülguts und der erfassten relativen Luftfeuchtigkeit. Das Verfahren enthält weiters ein Auslösen einer vorgegebenen Aktion in Abhängigkeit des ermittelten Trocknungszustands des Spülguts, wobei die vorgegebene Aktion ein Beenden des Spülprogramms, ein Verlängern des Spülprogramms, ein Einstellen eines Parameterwerts des Spülprogramms, ein Ausgeben eines Benachrichtigungssignals und/oder ein Ansteuern eines Bauteils der Haushaltsgeschirrspülmaschine umfasst.According to a further aspect, a method for operating a household dishwasher is proposed. Der optische Sensor 110 ist beispielsweise als ein CCD-Sensor mit einem Objektiv ausgebildet und ist dazu eingerichtet, ein Bild des in der Spülkammer 4 angeordneten Spülguts 15 in einem breiten Spektralbereich von einigen Mikrometern bis hin zu einigen hundert Nanometern aufzunehmen. Der Erfassungsbereich ist durch gestrichelte Linien unterhalb des optischen Sensors 110 angedeutet. Die Beleuchtungseinrichtung 115 ist als breitbandiges Blitzgerät ausgebildet. Die Abstrahlrichtung der Strahlung ist durch Pfeile unterhalb des Blitzgeräts 115 angedeutet.
