  • the second configuration 384 may be a control device having four columns of buttons (e.g ., a four-column keypad) that may be installed next to a multiple-gang receptacle configuration (e.g ., a single-gang, a double-gang, or a triple-gang receptacle configuration).
  • buttons e.g ., a four-column keypad
  • Other template cards may be provided for other electrical device configurations, e.g ., single receptacles, double-column keypads, and triple-column keypads.
  • a subset of the bores 341 may be accessible via the template card 320 when one of the template cards is installed on the front surface 312 of the template body 310.
  • One or more of the bores 341 may be covered by the template card 320 such that the one or more bores are inaccessible via the template card when the template card is installed on the front surface 312 of the template body 310.
  • a first subset of the bores 341 may be accessible via the template card 320A and a second subset of the bores 341 may be accessible via the template card 320B.
  • a number of the plurality of holes 350 of each template card 320, 320A, 320B may be less than a number of the plurality of bores 341 of the template body 310.
  • a first hole (e.g., a 67mm or 68mm diameter hole) may be drilled in a wall ( e.g., by an electrical wall box installer) at a desired location for one or more wall boxes.
  • the template body 310 of the wall box installation tool 300 may be used to drill one or more pilot holes for the installation of one or more wall boxes in which electrical devices are to be installed.
  • the template body 310 may be installed in the wall.
  • the guide ring 317 of the template body 310 may be inserted in the first hole drilled in the wall.
  • the rim 314 of the template body 310 may be flush with the wall when the template body 310 is installed in the wall.
  • the level 370 may be used to level the template body 310.
  • the wall box installation tool 300 may be adjusted to select a wall box configuration (e.g ., as shown in FIGs. 3G and 3H ). For example, one of a plurality of template cards 320 may be installed on the template body 310 based on a selected wall box configuration and/or electrical device configuration.
  • the template cards 320A, 320B may be used to mark and/or drill a plurality of pilot holes through the bores 341, as shown in FIG. 3C .
  • the wall box installation tool 300 may be removed from the wall and additional holes (e.g. , a 67mm or 68mm diameter holes) may be drilled at the location of the pilot holes. Remaining wall material between one or more of the pilot holes may be removed to create a wall opening.
  • One or more wall boxes may be installed in the wall opening.

Claims (10)

  1. Wandkasteninstallationswerkzeug mit einem Schablonenkörper (110), wobei der Schablonenkörper eine vordere Fläche (112, 212, 312), eine hintere Fläche (142, 243, 342) und eine Vielzahl von Bohrungen (141, 323) beinhaltet, die sich durch den Schablonenkörper von der vorderen Fläche zur hinteren Fläche erstreckt, gekennzeichnet dadurch, dass es Folgendes umfasst:
    einen Führungsring (117, 217, 317), der sich von der hinteren Fläche des Schablonenkörpers erstreckt; und
    eine erste Schablonenkarte (120), die sich auf der vorderen Fläche des Schablonenkörpers befindet und eine erste Vielzahl von Löchern (150, 152, 154) aufweist;
    wobei der Führungsring (117, 217, 317) dazu konfiguriert ist, in einem vorgebohrten Loch in einer Wand installiert zu werden, und wobei die erste Schablonenkarte (112, 212, 312) dazu konfiguriert ist, sich aus einer ersten Position, die einer Konfiguration einer ersten elektrischen Vorrichtung zugeordnet ist, in eine zweite Position zu bewegen, die einer Konfiguration einer zweiten elektrischen Vorrichtung zugeordnet ist, und wobei über die erste Schablonenkarte (112, 212, 312) in der ersten Position auf eine erste Teilmenge der Vielzahl von Bohrungen in dem Schablonenkörper zugegriffen werden kann und wobei über die erste Schablonenkarte in der zweiten Position auf eine zweite Teilmenge der Vielzahl von Bohrungen in dem Schablonenkörper zugegriffen werden kann.
  2. Wandkasteninstallationswerkzeug nach Anspruch 1, wobei die erste Schablonenkarte (120) dazu konfiguriert ist, entlang der vorderen Fläche (112, 212, 312) des Schablonenkörpers zwischen der ersten Position und der zweiten Position zu gleiten.
  3. Wandkasteninstallationswerkzeug nach Anspruch 2, wobei der Schablonenkörper eine Vielzahl von Klammern (118) beinhaltet, die dazu konfiguriert ist, die Schablonenkarte auf der vorderen Fläche (112, 212, 312) des Schablonenkörpers zu halten.
  4. Wandkasteninstallationswerkzeug nach Anspruch 3, wobei der Schablonenkörper eine Vielzahl von Anschlägen (126A, 126B, 136A, 136B) beinhaltet, die dazu konfiguriert ist, zu verhindern, dass die Schablonenkarte über eine obere Kante und eine untere Kante des Schablonenkörpers hinaus gleitet.
  5. Wandkasteninstallationswerkzeug nach Anspruch 2, wobei der Schablonenkörper eine Vielzahl von Vorsprüngen (122, 132) definiert, die sich von der vorderen Fläche (112, 212, 312) des Schablonenkörpers erstreckt, und die erste Schablonenkarte eine Vielzahl von Öffnungen (123) beinhaltet, die dazu konfiguriert ist, in die Vielzahl von Vorsprüngen einzugreifen und die erste Schablonenkarte (120) in einer ausgewählten Position zu halten.
  6. Wandkasteninstallationswerkzeug nach Anspruch 2, wobei der Schablonenkörper eine Vielzahl von dreieckigen Keilformen (124, 134) definiert, die sich von der vorderen Fläche (112, 212, 312) des Schablonenkörpers erstreckt, und die erste Schablonenkarte (120) eine Vielzahl von Einkerbungen (125, 135) beinhaltet, die dazu konfiguriert ist, in die Vielzahl von dreieckigen Keilformen einzugreifen und die erste Schablonenkarte in einer ausgewählten Position zu halten.
  7. Wandkasteninstallationswerkzeug nach Anspruch 1, ferner umfassend:
    eine zweite Schablonenkarte (130), die sich an der vorderen Fläche des Schablonenkörpers befindet und eine zweite Vielzahl von Löchern (160, 162, 164, 166) aufweist, wobei die zweite Schablonenkarte dazu konfiguriert ist, sich aus der ersten Position, die der Konfiguration einer ersten elektrischen Vorrichtung zugeordnet ist, in die zweite Position zu bewegen, die der Konfiguration einer zweiten elektrischen Vorrichtung zugeordnet ist;
    wobei über die zweite Schablonenkarte in der ersten Position auf eine dritte Teilmenge der Vielzahl von Bohrungen in dem Schablonenkörper zugegriffen werden kann und wobei über die zweite Schablonenkarte in der zweiten Position auf eine vierte Teilmenge der Vielzahl von Bohrungen in dem Schablonenkörper zugegriffen werden kann.
  8. Wandkasteninstallationswerkzeug nach Anspruch 7, wobei über die erste und zweite Schablonenkarte (120, 130) auf eine fünfte Teilmenge der Vielzahl von Bohrungen zugegriffen werden kann, wenn sich die erste Schablonenkarte (120) in der ersten Position befindet und sich die zweite Schablonenkarte (130) in der zweiten Position befindet.
  9. Wandkasteninstallationswerkzeug nach Anspruch 7, wobei durch eine Teilmenge der ersten und zweiten Vielzahl von Löchern in der ersten und zweiten Schablonenkarte (120, 130) auf die erste Teilmenge der Vielzahl von Bohrungen zugegriffen wird.
  10. Wandkasteninstallationswerkzeug nach Anspruch 1, wobei der Schablonenkörper einen Rand (114, 214, 314) umfasst, der sich an einem Umfang von und im Wesentlichen senkrecht zu der vorderen Fläche (112, 212, 312) erstreckt, und der Führungsring (117, 217, 317) über den Rand hinausragt.
