Description
The invention relates to a compression article produced on a knitting machine, wherein in each case the number of stitches per row of stitches is adapted to the radial circumference of the body part to be treated by the compression article.
In particular, for the prevention or treatment of edema, varicose veins, venous insufficiency and after vein surgery, such compression articles are used in the form of compression stockings, compression gloves, foot caps and the like. Other elastic articles are joint bandages or combustion bandages. In sports supportive bandages are used to protect against injury and sometimes also to increase performance.
Because of their good elastic properties, these articles are produced predominantly as knits, whereby production on a flat knitting machine is the rule. The article is made as a flat knit, the longitudinal edges are then sewn together, so that the desired three-dimensional article results. The flat-lying knit is knitted in areas where the body part to be treated has a larger circumference with more stitches per row of stitches than in areas of smaller circumference. The stitch increases and the stitch reductions take place at the edges of the flat knitted fabric. This means that after closing the longitudinal seam of the flat knitted fabric, this longitudinal seam has a curved course, while the opposite peripheral region of the compression article runs absolutely straight in the longitudinal direction. The shape of the compression article thus only imperfectly replicates the anatomy of the body part. In particular, the longitudinal axes of the compression article and the body part do not coincide.
In patients, however, bulges and deformations of the affected body part are possible at all circumferential locations. Therefore, a lower leg of such a patient can not only have the muscle-related peripheral expansion in the calf area, but also bulges in the tibial region. Therefore, the hitherto available compression articles are not sufficiently suitable even for a precise measurement of the body part and a customization of the compression article. In addition, the flat knit technology described above is only of limited use for the production of such products.
The invention is therefore based on the object of providing compression articles with an improved fit. The object is achieved by a compression article made from a knitting machine, in particular a flat knitting machine knitted fabric in which the number of stitches per row of stitches is adapted to the radial circumference of the body part to be treated by the compression article and which is characterized in that it has a plurality of circumferentially distributed locations around its circumference to conform to the shape of the body part to be treated In addition, stitches and / or stitches are reduced in a course and, moreover, the number of stitches in the wale direction varies over the circumference of the compression article and the compression article is thereby additionally adapted to the shape of the body part to be treated in the longitudinal direction of the body.
The compression article according to the invention is characterized in that increases in stitches and / or stitches are made at those peripheral locations at which the body part to be supported also undergoes a change in its circumference and not only in the region of the longitudinal seam of the article. In addition, the longitudinal fit is improved by also varying the number of stitches in the wale direction of the compression article over its circumference. Thus, for example, a compression stocking according to the invention can have more courses in the calf area than in the tibial area. This not only allows a better fit of the compression article, but also a more even distribution of the compression pressure on the body part. The three-dimensionally knitted article therefore has an improved fit as well as improved effectiveness.
Preferably, the compression article may be knitted so that its central longitudinal axis coincides with the central longitudinal axis of the body part to be supplied. This makes it possible to achieve particularly uniform pressure conditions over the circumference of the body part.
Furthermore, it is advantageous if the compression article is produced as a three-dimensional flat or circular knit. Through mesh accumulation in a central area of the knitted fabric creates a three-dimensional structure. However, the compression article can also be made as a seamless tubular fabric and thereby obtain a three-dimensional shape. The step of the subsequent sewing together of the edges of the knitted fabric can then be omitted.
Preferably, the compression article may additionally be fabricated using wicking techniques. With weaving techniques in conjunction with the distributed over the circumference mesh increase and / or decrease in mesh almost any three-dimensional structures can be produced.
In a preferred embodiment, the compression article may be formed of a plurality of strip-shaped sections, which are separated in the circumferential direction of the compression article by zones with mesh increases and / or decreases.
Depending on the number of subsections can thus be produced in a technically relatively simple way compression articles in which a mesh increase and / or a mesh reduction is present at several circumferential locations. The side edges of the sections may be parallel or not parallel to each other.
In addition, at least some of the sections may have a different number of courses or a different length of wales (= number of stitches per wale) in order to adapt well to the contour of the body part in the longitudinal direction of the compression article.
Preferably, the division of the knitted fabric into sections, the number of stitches per row of stitches in the sections and the number of courses per section can be determined accordingly from the data obtained in the measurement of the body part to be supported.
The compression article may also be made at least partially using elastic yarns in a manner known per se. The elastic threads may form the basic weave of the article and / or be involved as weft and / or warp threads.
In certain embodiments, further advantages are provided when the compression pressure applied to the body part by the compression article decreases from the distal end of the article to the proximal end. This measure helps to drain lymphatic fluid to the heart and thus promotes the excretion of excess fluid from the body.
The compression article may be made of a double-faced or double-layered knit. The knit may be made, for example, from an R-R bond. Or it may have several R-L layers, which are connected to each other surface or point.
- Vermessen des durch den Kompressionsartikel zu stützenden Körperteils an einzelnen Messpunkten;
- Auswahl eines Grundschnittes für den Kompressionsartikel aus einem Katalog, dessen Maße am besten mit dem vermessenen Körperteil übereinstimmen;
- Korrektur der Maschenzahl der Maschenreihen und der Anzahl der Maschen in den einzelnen Maschenstäbchen des Grundschnittes entsprechend den Maßen des Körperteils zwischen den Messpunkten;
- Measuring the body part to be supported by the compression article at individual measurement points;
- Selection of a basic section for the compression article from a catalog whose dimensions correspond best to the measured part of the body;
- Correction of the number of stitches of the courses and the number of stitches in the individual wales of the basic cut corresponding to the dimensions of the body part between the measuring points;
- Knitting the corrected basic section on a knitting machine, in particular a flat knitting machine.
This method is particularly suitable for the production of compression articles with a very good fit. It is advantageous if the corrected basic section is produced by calculating a plurality of subsections, the subsections being separated from each other by zones in which the mesh number of the courses of the knitted fabric is reduced and / or increased. The number of subsections can be predetermined or freely chosen.
- Vermessen des durch den Kompressionsartikel zu stützenden Körperteils durch Scannen des Körperteils;
- Berechnung der notwendigen Maschenanzahl je Maschenreihe entsprechend dem gemessenen Umfang des Körperteils im durch die Maschenreihe abgedeckten Bereich des Körperteils;
- Berechnung derjenigen Stellen innerhalb jeder Maschenreihe, an denen eine Maschenzu- und/oder -abnahme im Vergleich zur vorangehenden Maschenreihe erforderlich ist, sodass die zentrale Längsachse des Kompressionsgestricks mit der zentralen Längsachse des Körperteils übereinstimmt;
- Berechnung der notwendigen Anzahl von Maschen je Maschenstäbchen des Kompressionsartikels zur Abdeckung des Körperteils in dessen Längsrichtung;
- Measuring the body part to be supported by the compression article by scanning the body part;
- Calculation of the necessary number of stitches per stitch row corresponding to the measured circumference of the body part in the region of the body part covered by the row of stitches;
- Calculation of those points within each course where a stitch increase and / or decrease is required compared to the previous course, such that the central longitudinal axis of the compression knit coincides with the central longitudinal axis of the body part;
- Calculating the necessary number of stitches per wale of the compression article to cover the body part in its longitudinal direction;
- Knitting of the compression article on a flat knitting machine using the calculated number of stitches per course, the calculated points of stitch feeding and / or taking in the courses and the calculated necessary number of stitches per wale.
This procedure requires complete scanning of the body part to be supported. From these measured data, the required mesh count and / or winding points for the optimum fit of the compression article are then calculated in stitch row for stitch course. Mesh increase or decrease can be done anywhere within a course, not just at the edges of sections. This more elaborate process is particularly suitable for the production of compression articles for patients with discomfort, for which an excellent fit and an optimal compression pressure distribution are essential.
In the following, a preferred embodiment of a compression article according to the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawing.
