Definitions
- the invention relates to a screen connection device for the articulated connection of screens and a screen arrangement with such a screen connection device.
- Wall screens shielding walls
- Wall screen arrangements in the form of transportable partition walls which comprise two or more flat wall screens connected in an articulated manner.
- a room partitioning device can be created that shields a seating unit or seating group, a workplace or other objects on several sides.
- the angular arrangement of wall screens creates the necessary stability of the wall screen arrangement, if the screen arrangement does not have separate feet on the floor, which prevent it from tipping over.
- US 959 560 A discloses a screen connection device according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Known screen connection devices which are designed in the form of simple joints, have the disadvantage that they do not make it possible to pivot the screen screens, which are connected to one another in an articulated manner, up to a 0 ° position, in which they lie parallel to one another. Such a 0 ° position is particularly desirable for transport and storage purposes. Furthermore, known screen connection devices do not allow simple locking of the screen in a certain angular position.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of providing a screen connection device and a screen arrangement which enables simple pivoting of the screens over the largest possible swivel range and latching of the screens in at least one angular position and, moreover, can be produced in a simple and inexpensive manner.
- This object is achieved according to the invention by a screen connecting device according to claim 1 and a screen arrangement according to claim 10.
- Advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the further claims.
- the articulated screens can be pivoted in a simple manner over a wide swivel range.
- the screens can be swiveled up to their 0 ° position, in which they are parallel to each other because the elongated hole that is present in at least one of the joint elements enables the position of the pivot pin and thus the pivot axis within the elongated hole to change and the screens to move somewhat apart in the area of the screen connecting device.
- the improved foldability of the screens improves the transport and packaging of the screen arrangement and reduces its space requirement.
- the screens can be locked in at least one predetermined angular position, preferably in a 90 ° position of the screens. Further locking options in other angular positions, in particular also in a 60 ° and 120 ° angular position, are preferably also possible.
- Each of the first and second joint elements has a first latching surface and a second latching surface, the second latching surface of the second joint element being complementary to the first latching surface of the first joint element and being engageable with the first latching surface of the first joint element in at least one angular position, so that the first and second joint element can be brought into locking engagement with one another by means of two spaced-apart snap-in connections.
- These two separate locking connections which are preferably arranged on different sides of the swivel axis, enable a particularly secure locking and a particularly uniform distribution of the forces acting on the joint elements.
- the first and second latching surfaces are each arranged on the end faces of the first and second joint elements.
- the first and second locking surfaces each have a wave-like or tooth-shaped contour. This makes it possible in a simple manner to lock the screens in different angular positions.
- the number of shafts or teeth determines the number of different angular positions and the size of the locking steps.
- the latching surfaces are preferably designed such that two hingedly connected wall screens can be latched at least in a 60 °, 90 °, and 120 ° position. However, it is also readily possible to provide only one, two or more than three locking positions.
- Each of the first and second joint elements comprises an intermediate section adjacent to the fastening section, on which the first latching surface is formed, and an end section projecting beyond the first latching surface, on which the second latching surface is formed.
- the end section has a lower height than the intermediate section, so that a step is formed between the intermediate section and the end section, which has the first end latching surface.
- Joint elements produced in this way can be produced and assembled in a very simple manner. It is particularly advantageous here if the height of the end section is 50% of the height of the intermediate section. Become the end sections of the one to be joined together Joint elements placed one on top of the other in this case result in a total height of the two end sections which corresponds to the height of the two intermediate sections.
- the end section advantageously projects over a side surface of the intermediate section, at least part of the elongated hole being arranged in a region of the end section which is arranged laterally outside the side surface.
- the pivot pin can be moved laterally outwards within the slot so that the axis of rotation of the screens in their 0 ° position lies in a plane that is either in the plane of contact between the two screens or when the two screens are not completely folded, between the adjacent surfaces of the two screens.
- the elongated hole is arranged in both joint elements, the dimension by which the elongated hole extends laterally beyond the side surface of the intermediate section corresponds at least to the radius of the pivot pin. If the elongated hole is only arranged in a joint element, this lateral overhang dimension suitably corresponds at least to the diameter of the pivot pin.
- the end section advantageously extends laterally away from the intermediate section in the form of a circular arc.
- the circular arc-shaped curvature expediently extends over an angle of 60 ° to 80 ° relative to the longitudinal axis of the intermediate section.
- the fastening section is advantageously designed as an elongated plug-in section for insertion into a frame tube of a screen. This allows the Joint elements can be connected to the associated frame tube of the screen in a very quick and simple manner.
- first and second joint elements are of identical design. As a result, manufacturing costs can be minimized. Furthermore, confusion of the joint elements during assembly is excluded.
- the object stated at the outset is achieved by means of a screen arrangement with a first and second screen, the first and second screens being articulated to one another by means of at least one screen connection device of the type described above.
- the screen arrangement preferably has two such screen connection devices, one screen connection device being arranged at the upper end and the other screen connection device being arranged at the lower end of the articulated area present between the two wall screens.
- a screen arrangement can be seen which comprises two hinged screens 1a, 1b.
- these wall screens 1a, 1b are arranged at an angle of 90 ° to one another.
- the screens are preferably rectangular and are designed such that they are set up on a floor as partitions.
- each screen 1a, 1b comprises a stable frame 2a, 2b with frame tubes 33 arranged in a U-shape.
- these frame tubes 33 consist of tube elements with an essentially square, in particular square, cross section.
- the frame tubes 33 can be made of aluminum or steel, for example.
- the frames 2a, 2b are articulated to one another at their upper and lower ends with screen connecting devices 3.
- Each screen connecting device 3 comprises a first joint element 4a, a second joint element 4b and a pivot pin 5 for the articulated connection of the first and second joint elements 4a, 4b.
- the pivot 5 forms a pivot axis 32 for the wall screens 1a, 1b.
- the hinge elements 4a are positively connected to these frame tubes 33 by inserting them into the associated frame tubes 33 of the frame 2a.
- the joint elements 4b are positively connected to these frame tubes 33 by inserting them into the associated frame tubes 33 of the frame 2b.
- the pivot pins 5 are fastened to the upper and lower ends of a connecting rod 6, which is arranged centrally between the two frames 2a, 2b.
- the frames 2a, 2b are therefore articulated to one another via the pivot pins 5.
- screw-like feet 7 can be screwed in a height-adjustable manner, on which the wall screen arrangement stands.
- the frames 2a, 2b serve to fasten the panels 8.
- These panels 8 can, for example, consist of panels covered with fabric, which fill the spaces between the frame tubes 33 and the connecting rod 6.
- the frame tubes 33 and the connecting rod 6 can also be covered in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
- the frame tubes 33 lie in or define a main plane for each screen 1a, 1b.
- the joint elements 4a, 4b of the screen connecting device 3 are described in more detail.
- the two joint elements 4a, 4b are of identical design, the second joint element 4b being coupled to the first joint element 4a rotated by 180 ° about its longitudinal axis.
- the joint elements 4a, 4b preferably consist of one-piece plastic elements.
- the joint element 4a, 4b comprises a fastening section 9 for fastening the joint element 4a, 4b to the frame 2a, 2b of a screen 1a, 1b, an intermediate section 10 and an end section 11.
- the fastening section 9 is designed in such a way that it can be inserted at the end into a frame tube and fixed by a press fit.
- the fastening section 9 is peg-shaped. It extends straight along a central or longitudinal axis 12.
- a free end 13 and an end 14 of the fastening section 9, which end is adjacent to the intermediate section 10 have a square outer contour which is adapted to the inner contour of the receiving frame tube 33. This prevents the joint elements 4a, 4b from rotating within the frame tubes 33 about the longitudinal axis 12.
- the insertion into the frame tube 33 can be facilitated by a bevel 15 which is provided at the free end 13.
- a small run-up slope can also be provided at the other end 14.
- the area between the ends 13, 14 has a substantially circular cross section and comprises a plurality of holding lamellae 16 spaced along the longitudinal axis 12, which have a circular outer contour.
- the holding slats 16 also have, as from the Figures 4 and 5 visible, bevels 17 on. This creates a sawtooth-shaped outer contour.
- the diameter of the holding slats 16 is dimensioned such that they deform elastically when inserted into a frame tube 33 and ensure a firm fit in the frame tube.
- the intermediate section 10 adjoining the fastening section 9 has a substantially square cross section.
- the outer contour of the intermediate section 10 corresponds to the outer contour of the frame tube 33 receiving the fastening section 9, so that on the outside a flat transition between the frame tube 33 and the Intermediate section 10 is present.
- the end face 18 of the intermediate section 10 facing the frame tube 33 serves as a stop surface for the frame tube 33.
- the intermediate section 10 also has a first end-side latching surface 19.
- This end locking surface 19 is formed by a height step between the intermediate section 10 and the end section 11.
- the intermediate section 10 has a first height h1, which is greater than a second height h2 of the end section 11.
- the height h2 of the end section 11 is expediently 50% of the height h1 of the intermediate section 10.
- the front locking surface 19 extends in the in FIG Figure 4 Side view shown perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 12. If the hinge element 4a, 4b is attached to a horizontally extending frame tube 33, which is normally the case, the front locking surface 19 thus extends vertically.
- the front locking surface 19 has a wave-shaped or tooth-shaped contour and, in the exemplary embodiment shown, has three convex regions 19a and two concave regions 19b, as shown in FIG Figure 5 evident.
- the laterally outermost convex region 19a which in Figure 5 above, projects further in the direction of the longitudinal axis 12 than the adjacent, central convex region 19a, and this central, convex section 19a in turn projects further in the longitudinal direction of the longitudinal axis 12 than the adjacent convex region 19a, which is shown in FIG. 5 below .
- concavex and concave regions 19a, 19b can vary widely and is at least 1.
- a tooth-shaped contour for example in the form of an internal toothing, is also possible. It is also possible to provide only a single groove, which projects into the interior of the intermediate section 10, or a single tongue, which projects outwards on the end face.
- the end section 11 has a first surface 20 which, in the exemplary embodiment shown, is flat and lies in a plane which lies in or parallel to the longitudinal axis 12.
- the first surface 20 lies in a horizontal plane. If 2 joint elements 4a, 4b are coupled to one another, as shown in FIG Figures 6 to 8
- the first two surfaces 20 of the joint elements 4a, 4b lie one on top of the other and form flat sliding surfaces on which the joint elements 4a, 4b can be pivoted relative to one another.
- the joint element 4a, 4b furthermore has a first side surface 21, which extends from a side surface 27 of the intermediate section 10 in an arc shape, in particular in a circular arc shape, along the end section 11.
- the opposite second side surface 22 of the end section 11 with a smaller radius of curvature likewise extends at least predominantly in the form of a circular arc.
- This second side surface 22 forms a continuation of a side surface 23 of the intermediate section 10. It follows that in the in Figure 5 Top view shown, the end portion 11 protrudes laterally beyond the side surface 23 of the intermediate portion 10.
- the protrusion dimension is at least 50% of the width of the intermediate section 10, preferably between 50% and 100% of this width.
- the free end surface of the end section 11 forms a second end-side latching surface 24.
- This second latching surface 24 is complementary to the first latching surface 19 of the intermediate section 10 and is therefore also wave-shaped or tooth-shaped.
- the second latching surface 24 has two convex regions 24a (“teeth”) and three concave regions 24b.
- the two wall screens 1a, 1b and thus the longitudinal axes 12 of the joint elements 4a, 4b are arranged at an angle of 90 ° to one another, they are as shown in FIG Figure 7 can be seen, the two convex areas 24a of the second articulated element 4b in the two opposite concave areas 19b of the first articulated element 4a, whereby the two articulated elements 4a, 4b are locked together and are prevented from pivoting relative to one another.
- the second latching surface 24 is complementary to the first latching surface 19, the second latching surface 24 may also have a tooth-shaped contour instead of a wavy contour or may comprise only a single tongue or groove. Furthermore, the locking surfaces 19, 24 in the exemplary embodiment shown are designed such that two interacting joint elements 4a, 4b are locked together not only in one angular position but in three different angular positions can, especially in a 60 °, 90 ° and 120 ° position.
- an elongated hole 25a or 25b is also arranged in the end section 11.
- This elongated hole 25a, 25b serves to pass through the pivot pin 5, which forms the pivot axis 32 for pivoting the articulated element 4a, 4b.
- the longitudinal axis of the elongated hole 25 extends approximately 60 ° to the longitudinal axis 12 of the fastening section 9 and intermediate section 10 and has a plan view from Figure 5 an arcuate curvature.
- the elongated hole 25a, 25b can alternatively also run in a straight line obliquely or transversely to the longitudinal axis 12.
- the elongated hole 25a, 25b has a first end region 26 which is located between extensions of the side walls 23 and 27 of the intermediate section 10 and extends close to the longitudinal axis 12, and a second end region 28 which extends laterally outside the extension of the side wall 23 is located. A part of the elongated hole 25a, 25b is thus arranged in a region of the end section 11 which is arranged laterally outside the side surface 23.
- the elongated hole 25a, 25b enables the articulation element 4a, 4b to be displaced transversely to the pivot pin 5.
- the elongated hole 25a, 25b enables two interacting elements Joint elements 4a, 4b can be pulled apart so far in the assembled state that they Figure 8 can assume the 0 ° position shown, in which the longitudinal axes 12 of the two joint elements 4a, 4b lie parallel next to one another and the wall screens 1a, 1b are arranged parallel and close to one another.
- This widening 29 serves to deeply accommodate a widened diameter range of the pivot pin 5 and an opposite screw head of a locking screw which can be axially screwed into the pivot pin 5 in order to fix the two cooperating joint elements 4a, 4b in the axial direction of the pivot pin 5 and to hold them tightly together.
- the pocket-like widening 29 goes by means of an oblique phase 31 into the Figures 3 and 5 shown elongated hole 25a, 25b.
- This 180 ° position is particularly advantageous in the production of the wall screen arrangement comprising the two wall screens 1a, 1b and can also be useful in the storage of such wall screen arrangements.
- the hinge area between the two wall screens 1a, 1b, i.e. the area in which the connecting rod 6 and the joint elements 4a, 4b are located is expediently covered with an elastic cover that pulls the joint elements 4a, 4b towards one another.
- a 90 ° position is shown, ie a position in which the longitudinal axes 12 and thus the wall screens 1a, 1b are at an angle of 90 °.
- the two end sections 11 of the joint elements 4a, 4b lie exactly one above the other.
- the first side surface 21 of the end section 11 of the two joint elements 4a, 4b merges smoothly into the respectively adjacent side surface 27 of the intermediate sections 10.
- the second side surface 22 of the end section 11 of the two joint elements 4a, 4b continuously merges into the side surface 23 of the other joint element 4b, 4a.
- the latching position is shown, in which the first latching surfaces 19 of the intermediate sections 10 are in latching engagement with the respective second latching surfaces 24 of the end sections 11.
- the hinge elements 4a, 4b are in turn held by the elastic material or the wall covering, which is located in the hinge area between the wall screens 1a, 1b.
- FIG 8 a 0 ° position is shown, in which the fastening sections 9 of the two joint elements 4a, 4b are located next to one another and parallel to one another.
- the distance between the connecting sections 9 or intermediate sections 10 is dimensioned such that the wall screens 1a, 1b are close to one another in this position.
- the joint elements 4a, 4b can be brought into this 0 ° position by displacing the joint elements 4, 4b in the transverse direction of the pivot pin 5. This displacement takes place until the pivot 5 strikes the second end region 28 of the elongated holes 25a, 25b. The In this position, pivot axis 32 is thus maximally approximated to second end region 28 of elongated holes 25a, 25b.
- the pivot axis 32 is located in a vertical plane lying between the two longitudinal axes 12 and 'preferably in the contact plane of the two wall screens 1a, 1b.
- the two joint elements 4a, 4b can be pivoted relative to one another over a large pivoting range and can be locked together in different latching positions by displacing the pivot axis 32 relative to the joint elements 4a, 4b.
- the articulated elements 4a, 4b also via the in Figure 6 180 ° position shown, for example, can be pivoted into a 240 ° position, since there is still a corresponding free space between the first latching surfaces 19 and the first side surfaces 21 of the respective other joint element 4a, 4b in the 180 ° position .
- This free space can be achieved in a simple manner in that the elongated holes 25a, 25b extend up to relatively close to the second latching surface 24.
- the combination of the two joint elements 4a, 4b shown creates two separate latching connections which act between the joint elements 4a, 4b and are located on opposite sides of the pivot axis (32). These two rest connections are still at different heights, i.e. they are offset along the pivot axis 32.

Description
The invention relates to a screen connection device for the articulated connection of screens and a screen arrangement with such a screen connection device.
Wall screens (shielding walls) are used in the furniture sector in particular for privacy purposes. Wall screen arrangements in the form of transportable partition walls are known which comprise two or more flat wall screens connected in an articulated manner. By arranging adjacent convertible screens at an angle, a room partitioning device can be created that shields a seating unit or seating group, a workplace or other objects on several sides. In addition, the angular arrangement of wall screens creates the necessary stability of the wall screen arrangement, if the screen arrangement does not have separate feet on the floor, which prevent it from tipping over.
Known screen connection devices, which are designed in the form of simple joints, have the disadvantage that they do not make it possible to pivot the screen screens, which are connected to one another in an articulated manner, up to a 0 ° position, in which they lie parallel to one another. Such a 0 ° position is particularly desirable for transport and storage purposes. Furthermore, known screen connection devices do not allow simple locking of the screen in a certain angular position.
The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a screen connection device and a screen arrangement which enables simple pivoting of the screens over the largest possible swivel range and latching of the screens in at least one angular position and, moreover, can be produced in a simple and inexpensive manner. This object is achieved according to the invention by a screen connecting device according to claim 1 and a screen arrangement according to

- the screen connecting device has a first and second articulated element and a pivot pin for articulatingly connecting the first and second articulated element, the pivot pin forming a pivot axis for the screen screens,
- the first and second joint elements each have a fastening section for fastening to a screen, the fastening section having a central axis which can be arranged in or parallel to a main plane of the screen,
- the first and second joint elements have complementary locking surfaces which can be brought into locking engagement with one another in order to lock the first and second joint elements in at least one angular position relative to one another,
- at least one of the first and second joint elements has an elongated hole through which the pivot pin extends,
- the elongated hole runs at least partially in an arc, obliquely or transversely to the central axis of the fastening section,
- By shifting at least one of the joint elements relative to the pivot, the locking engagement between the first and second joint element can be released, whereby the joint elements can be pivoted relative to one another.
With the help of the screen connection device according to the invention, the articulated screens can be pivoted in a simple manner over a wide swivel range. Preferably, the screens can be swiveled up to their 0 ° position, in which they are parallel to each other because the elongated hole that is present in at least one of the joint elements enables the position of the pivot pin and thus the pivot axis within the elongated hole to change and the screens to move somewhat apart in the area of the screen connecting device. The improved foldability of the screens improves the transport and packaging of the screen arrangement and reduces its space requirement. In addition, the screens can be locked in at least one predetermined angular position, preferably in a 90 ° position of the screens. Further locking options in other angular positions, in particular also in a 60 ° and 120 ° angular position, are preferably also possible.
Each of the first and second joint elements has a first latching surface and a second latching surface, the second latching surface of the second joint element being complementary to the first latching surface of the first joint element and being engageable with the first latching surface of the first joint element in at least one angular position, so that the first and second joint element can be brought into locking engagement with one another by means of two spaced-apart snap-in connections. These two separate locking connections, which are preferably arranged on different sides of the swivel axis, enable a particularly secure locking and a particularly uniform distribution of the forces acting on the joint elements.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the first and second latching surfaces are each arranged on the end faces of the first and second joint elements. Advantageously, the first and second locking surfaces each have a wave-like or tooth-shaped contour. This makes it possible in a simple manner to lock the screens in different angular positions. The number of shafts or teeth determines the number of different angular positions and the size of the locking steps. The latching surfaces are preferably designed such that two hingedly connected wall screens can be latched at least in a 60 °, 90 °, and 120 ° position. However, it is also readily possible to provide only one, two or more than three locking positions.
Each of the first and second joint elements comprises an intermediate section adjacent to the fastening section, on which the first latching surface is formed, and an end section projecting beyond the first latching surface, on which the second latching surface is formed.
Advantageously, the end section has a lower height than the intermediate section, so that a step is formed between the intermediate section and the end section, which has the first end latching surface. Joint elements produced in this way can be produced and assembled in a very simple manner. It is particularly advantageous here if the height of the end section is 50% of the height of the intermediate section. Become the end sections of the one to be joined together Joint elements placed one on top of the other in this case result in a total height of the two end sections which corresponds to the height of the two intermediate sections.
The end section advantageously projects over a side surface of the intermediate section, at least part of the elongated hole being arranged in a region of the end section which is arranged laterally outside the side surface. In this way, the pivot pin can be moved laterally outwards within the slot so that the axis of rotation of the screens in their 0 ° position lies in a plane that is either in the plane of contact between the two screens or when the two screens are not completely folded, between the adjacent surfaces of the two screens. If the elongated hole is arranged in both joint elements, the dimension by which the elongated hole extends laterally beyond the side surface of the intermediate section corresponds at least to the radius of the pivot pin. If the elongated hole is only arranged in a joint element, this lateral overhang dimension suitably corresponds at least to the diameter of the pivot pin.
The end section advantageously extends laterally away from the intermediate section in the form of a circular arc. The circular arc-shaped curvature expediently extends over an angle of 60 ° to 80 ° relative to the longitudinal axis of the intermediate section.
The fastening section is advantageously designed as an elongated plug-in section for insertion into a frame tube of a screen. This allows the Joint elements can be connected to the associated frame tube of the screen in a very quick and simple manner.
It is particularly advantageous if the first and second joint elements are of identical design. As a result, manufacturing costs can be minimized. Furthermore, confusion of the joint elements during assembly is excluded.
Furthermore, the object stated at the outset is achieved by means of a screen arrangement with a first and second screen, the first and second screens being articulated to one another by means of at least one screen connection device of the type described above. The screen arrangement preferably has two such screen connection devices, one screen connection device being arranged at the upper end and the other screen connection device being arranged at the lower end of the articulated area present between the two wall screens.

The fastening section 9 is designed in such a way that it can be inserted at the end into a frame tube and fixed by a press fit. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the fastening section 9 is peg-shaped. It extends straight along a central or

Since the
