Claims (8)

  1. Method for converting a roll assembly for treating a fibrous web (2) within a paper or board machine, in which roll assembly (1, 30) at least two rolls (3, 4), the rolling bearings (5, 6) of which are fitted in an accurate position on machined support surfaces (12) of at least one stand (7) with the aid of fitting elements (11) such as keyed joints, are brought into contact with the fibrous web (2) in the operating state,
    to a converted roll assembly (31) having additional elements (8), which carries out a different function from the roll assembly (1, 30)
    - wherein firstly at least one roll bearing (5, 6) is arranged at a distance from its machine support surface (12) on the stand (7),
    - whereupon a component (10) is placed on the machine support surface (12) and fixed, the support side (13) of which has suitable recesses and/or elevations (16, 17) on the support surface for fitting elements (11), and fitting elements (11) for the bearing housing (5, 6) are likewise introduced on its side (14) opposite the support side,
    - previously, simultaneously or subsequently, the roll bearing (5, 6) arranged at a distance is positioned and fixed on the side (14) of the component (10) that is opposite the support side,
    - wherein, before the installation, the component (10) has been provided with further additional machined surfaces (15), to which the additional assemblies (8) necessary for the new function are fitted in an accurate position.
  2. Method according to Claim 1, characterized in that the fitting elements (11) arranged on the side (14) opposite the support side are introduced in an analogous position to the support surface (12) of the stand (7).
  3. Method according to either of Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the component (10) has a plate-shaped part (18).
  4. Method according to Claim 3, characterized in that the plate-shaped part (18) is placed parallel to the machined support surface (12), in particular horizontally on the stand (7).
  5. Method according to either of Claims 3 and 4, characterized in that a further plate (19), which is provided for the fixing of the additional assemblies (8), is also provided on the plate-shaped part (18), in particular attached at right angles.
  6. Method according to Claim 5, characterized in that the plate-shaped part (18) and the further plate (19) have a stiffening metal sheet (20).
  7. Method according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that at least some of the additional assemblies (8) are fixed to the stand (7) together with the component (10).
  8. Method according to one of Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the method relates to the conversion of a size press (30) to a film press (31).
